I dont' know if anyone else here was, but I was a big fan of the first. Michael's character is sweet, i hope he gets some nice fight scenes in the sequel. Should be good to see where the true beginnings are of both races, they caught me off guard in the first one with the story of Lucian and how the war started.

I liked the first one, I'm hoping I'll like the second one as much.

A woman in black leather, vampires and werewolves? It's the perfect movie.

YAY. i loved that movie. ^_^ it was good. i can't wait for the two sequels.

Has anyone seen this movie yet? I really want to tonight...but there is one small problem. My wife does not want me getting heated up over Kate's fine body in what I hear to be a mild nude scene. Elsewhere, I read that its not really a "nude" scene...but that you can tell that they are not clothed. No real revealing anything.

Can somebody help me out here?

VulcanRider 01-20-2006 03:23 PM

Promise her you'll really be thinking of her when you're looking at Kate... :D

Way to get my hope up and then squash them :(

I'm trying to go see it tonight. I've been waiting for it for a while.

I just got back from seeing it. The scene is softcore, but you do see a couple of profile shots of her, as well as an half breast shot.

There is some gratuitous nudity later in the movie, you see 2 topless vampire whore.

Damn. I guess I'll only get to see it if I figure out how to sneak to it without her finding out.

Thank you SO MUCH for getting back to me on this. At least I know now what must be done.

Sever 01-20-2006 11:24 PM

Er, Larry. I'm not stirring sh!t here, but don't you think your wife is being a little unreasonable? It's just a movie about vampires and stuff. Hardly a tit-flick.

Or have you previously made the mistake of commenting on Kate?

I am doomed with this for the rest of my life. I have told her and pleaded with her that she was being unreasonable but she has cause for her stern stand.

See...in our church, we had a leader speak against R-rated movies...so no members are supposed to see an R-rated movie or we could not consider ourselves honestly trying to be good members. I was able to convince her after much work and internet searching on all leaders who made any mention of movies that they only referred to R movies that contained sex. That nowhere did they specifically speak against anything else in an R-rated movie. So...I won that much. But the nudity ban stands, and she feels that if I see a movie or picture that contains such things, that not only am I betraying her for some damn reason...but that I am betraying my good standing in church...and she will not allow me to make what she considers the wrong decision. Since we're married, my decisions effect her, so if I lose grace so does our household.

Take note. I do not agree. I want to see a good movie and could care less about some boobies on the screen. I am going for the storyline, not for the love scene.

There is just no way out of this.

Link 01-21-2006 07:14 AM

Excuse for saying but... LMAO Larry, you're so screwed. I feel like the kid from The Simpsons, always pointing at everyone saying: "Ha-ha!" :D

Sever 01-21-2006 08:57 AM

For what it's worth, man, go the boobies! :D

Larry_OHF 01-21-2006 10:31 AM

So...how's the movie? Is it as good as everybody is saying? I hear that critics and the public both give it A- or 4.5 stars!

Luvian 01-21-2006 12:28 PM

There is more action and less dialogs. We already know much of what there is to know, so they spend less time talking and more time fighting.

My brother liked the second one better, but me I'm not sure. I really liked the first one, but the second one is interesting too, in a different way.

Balintherlas 01-23-2006 08:43 PM

Its a real good action movie, lotta good fights and the final fight really gets your blood going. It also looks like there might be a third.

Forgive any impertinence on my part, but isn't that a little draconian?

How many members of your church went to see The Passion of the Christ? It has an R rating, so I was just wondering.....

An R-rated movie is harmless, in and of itself.

Timber Loftis 01-24-2006 02:50 PM

Dang, Larry, I must be going to hell because my wife lets me go to nudie bars if I want. Of course I don't attend church, and I tend to say mean things about religion sometimes, and I cuss and drink.....

um... did I mention I must be going to hell?

I was about to say something, but then it would probably be too close to breaching the moratorium.

Azred 01-24-2006 03:48 PM

That's ok, Luvian. It is well-known that Timber is going to hell, without passing "Go" and without collecting $200. The only question is this: will I get to hell before Timber?

Timber Loftis 01-24-2006 04:18 PM

Um... slight correction. I always collect my fee. So, I'll be one of the few in hell with $200 in my pocket.

Azred 01-24-2006 04:54 PM

Nobody that I am aware of.

But don't get too upset about this guys...I mean...my wife's ruling is not being mandated on any of you...

By the way, I've been able to see it now. Don't ask how. I really did like it. Was it better than the first? Maybe. It was definately one of those that need to be seen in the theater. My little 13" TV screen would not have done it justice. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants some great action at this first part of the year.

I remember that church groups were renting entire movie theaters in the Metroplex and buying group-discount tickets. Oh, well...

Upset? No. Curious? Yes. Note, though, that I am not saying your wife's decision is wrong, merely iconoclastic.

That's my sentiment too. The first had a good balance of story, exposition and fighting. The second one is more fighting and less of the rest, but it's good too. I'm not sure which one I liked best. It's like chosing which of your two favorite pie you like the best.

Balintherlas 01-25-2006 09:00 PM

Hey Larry, you could always wait until your in the dog house with her for a different reason, then go see the movie, its the double transgression theory.

I think I need to stay away from you.

You make too much sense for my own good.

I have to say I did not enjoy the 2nd Underworld as much as the 1st. The first half hour was confusing with some irrelevant links to the first movie, and an historic battle that almost did not make sense having it there, it would have made more sense to have a scene with the creating of the crypt and the entombment of the brother as opposed to the bloody battle. After the first half hour the story seemed to start to have direction and make more sense as to what the story was about mainly the keys and opening his brothers crypt. The sex scenes served absolutely no purpose and I felt the director was just trying to get some scenes with his wife with another man to fulfill some sick fantasy that he could wack off too later, I am sure he watches this part of his movie over and over. Which makes sense that the first half hour or so of the movie did not appear to have direction as the directors mind was elsewhere. The Vampire whores would have been enough for eye candy. Wasn't a bad movie but could have been better story wise especially the first half hour or so, action was good throughout.

I liked it okay. I must say the sex scene with Kate is waaaaaay overdue. She should do 5 of these scenes per movie, IMO.

Marathon 06-22-2006 02:47 PM

Just saw it last weekend. Gotta say, TL is dead on...

Madman-Rogovich 06-22-2006 05:44 PM

Well, you'd be pushed to get any argument against that statement ;)

DrowArchmage 06-27-2006 02:02 PM

I watched it a few times. Kate is really.....oh man! i gotta agree with Timber on this one.

Harkoliar 06-30-2006 06:54 AM

too bad when i watched it, scenes were cut off.. typical. Didnt expect there would be boobies though, but now that you guys told me.. :(

/runs off to check rentals
