although Daredevil was sadly a big misstep, this could still work out. Will definately watch it

krunchyfrogg 11-29-2004 01:32 AM

This movie will probably suck.

I'll still watch it, just for Ms. Garner.

What he said, but I don't think I'll be watching it for Ms. Garner.

My wife admits that Garner is a hottie, even said she'd go for her if she were a guy!

Krunchyfrogg, you are indeed a lucky man. The only thing my girlfriend has ever said was that she would think it was weird if I wouldn't have any *humhum* dirty material on my computer.

krunchyfrogg 12-01-2004 05:00 PM

LOL! My wife is the exact opposite. She found an "adult cookie" on my computer (which was actually just from a pop-up ad in a SPAM e-mail), and went ballistic on me!

:D

Well my girlfriend is really modern when it comes to those things. At least I think she is. Just this night I was chatting with her younger sister, making all kinds of remarks to which my g/f evidently replied with "Are you hitting on my younger sister now?!". Of course, all in good jest. She apparently knows how men think and subsequently knows me :D

Well don't shout it out too loud, mate ;) I've only just let her know I'd like to try things out, if you catch my drift

Irongrinder 12-09-2004 01:52 AM

We Dutch men are so predictable aren't we Link ;)

Now I understand why going Dutch on something means splitting the result in half! It never was a money thing! :D

Larry_OHF 12-09-2004 12:52 PM

Oops! I did not expect my thread to derail the topic this far! I'd comment on my own history of such things, and even suggest to Kfrogg to ask his wife if she were up for a threesome with a "hottie"...but I won't derail the thread anymore.

Now...er...where was I?

Irongrinder 12-09-2004 03:02 PM

hehe, sorry about that.

It was something about Jennifer Garner and uhm....Jennifer Garner....yup...that's about it!

krunchyfrogg 12-09-2004 04:39 PM

Sorry Larry.

Sir Degrader 12-21-2004 09:39 AM

I believe that maddox sums up my opinion rather well on daredevil. This movie however... A 1.5 hour were all Garner does is pretend to know martial arts and prance around like a kid playing "soldier". Yay, this should almost be as good as catwoman!

Larry_OHF 01-17-2005 10:04 AM

Has nobody seen this movie and would like to talk about what you thought?

I have not yet seen it, but want to this week.

krunchyfrogg 01-17-2005 10:22 AM

Jennifer Garner actually knows TKD, I believe.

Mack_Attack 01-17-2005 10:51 AM

It looks good. The only reason daredevil was a flop was because of the acting done. I mean come on Ben just sucks.

So I will put more faith into this movie. And a bonus the wife wants to see it as well. She is a big fan of allias. ;)

And larry I would not let the wife read those posts. ;)

Thoran 01-17-2005 11:48 AM

Definitely not a movie I'll pay to see at the theater. Debatable if I'll rent it, one hottie can't make up for a lame story... and I'm having a hard time imagineing the story being good.

Sir Degrader 01-17-2005 08:16 PM

Wow, Jennifer Garner knows TKD? Amazing. I once knew someone who knew TKD as well. He was the biggest wimp I've ever met. He couldn't take a punch, had no upper body (or lower body for that matter) strength, and nearly failed his mile run time. Knowing a martial art and being a Martial Artist are very different things. Anyway, I withdraw my statement about this movie. It looks like its a pretty good flick, I must go check it out.

Luvian 01-17-2005 09:12 PM

I'm just coming from seeing it. I liked it, I also liked Daredevil.

The only problem is that their legend is a little useless...

krunchyfrogg 01-17-2005 10:14 PM

Sir Degrader, Tae Kwon Do has so many "McDojos" out there that people joking refer to it as "Take Ones Dough."

The real TKD is a nasty art, but I wouldn't even know where to find a dojo that teaches it. I don't know what Garner has learned, I'm just relating what I read in Maxim a while back.

Cerek 01-18-2005 05:04 AM

I read an online review of the movie - and it got slammed. No big surprise.

I thought Daredevil was OK, but could definitely have been done better (I can't believe they left Stick out entirely). I do give them credit for getting the fight between Elektra and Bullseye down almost word-for-word as it was done in the comic. That still remains as one of the most pivotal points in Daredevil's history and - thank goodness - they didn't muck it up.

I couldn't go see Elektra in theaters even if I wanted to. I'm still recovering from surgery and it will be a few more weeks before I'm strong enough to leave the house by myself. I probably will rent it on DVD when it comes out. Then again, I will also probably buy a copy of Daredevil on DVD eventually also.

The special effects and fighting sequences look pretty good and I'm used to relatively lame storylines after being a comic fan for years and years. I think Elektra will be better than Catwoman. Then again, that isn't saying much.

Luvian 01-18-2005 02:46 PM

Did Catwoman come out already? I lost track of it...

I actually liked the story of daredevil more than the one in Electra...

I watch those movies to see people in costumes hitting each others, so I don't mind if the story is thin, as long as I can follow it.

The one in electka... Without giving spoilers, there's this legend about this person who can supposedly end the conflict between good and evil (Star Wars?), but the way they played it out, it seem more like a reason to keep fighting than an actual prophecy...

Also, why did they help Elektra after what happened to her in Daredevil? How did she get where she woke up if she was in such a bad condition?

Sythe 02-25-2005 08:27 PM

Your are cold as a glacier Sir Degrader

And Elektra is hideous in my opinion. ;)

Sike

I saw the movie months ago and I must say...

it most definetly sucked. I will explain more when I have the time.

Balintherlas 02-25-2005 10:09 PM

Hahahaha sit man, when i first saw that, elektra is hideous, i freaked

DrowArchmage 02-28-2005 04:28 PM

Spam? i know not of what you speak!*snikers*yeah right. And hideous? i know the movie sucked,i can except that but please dont insult Jen

pritchke 04-25-2005 12:01 PM

I liked both movies. They did have some kick butt characters in Electra. What were they? Mutants of some sort, demons maybe. How can a guy take a blast from a shotgun at close range yet be killed by the tree falling on him. I figured his eyes were his soft spot, but I guess his entire head was soft.
