OK, I want to see the predictions for George R.R Martins next book (whenever it comes out)

I think that -
The Lightning Lord will die for the last time
The Mountain will die from the wounds caused by the Red Viper
Bran will continue into the north
Arya will remeet with her mother
Lem Lemoncoat and the bard who travels with him (cant remember his name, someone of seven strings?) will die.

Timber Loftis 06-08-2004 10:58 AM

SPOILERS!

My one prediction and rebuttal of your prediction.

If Ayra remeets her mother, it will only be if she sees her dead carcass floating down the river. Remember?

Prediction: each additional day of delay is one day closer to the coronary that kicks old G.R.R. He's about two pork chops from a serious ticker-kicker.

Stormymystic 06-08-2004 11:09 AM

I predict I will never read it :D

Not true, at the end of Storm of Swords we find that she is alive but deformed, unless I remember incorrectly.

No youre right Brenden, Arya's mom is brought back to life, but she can't speak due to the slit in her neck (go figure )

As for the two meeting, I don't know about that. If you go to George RR Martin's offical sight, he has a chapter from Feast for Crows, an Arya chapter, and she's off across the sea.

I'm just impatient for this book to come out! I had better re-read the other three, because I didn't recognize any of those names (lightning lord, mountain, red viper, lem lemoncoat )

shadowhound 06-09-2004 04:53 AM

Of course I am right, who ever doubted it :D
I reread the series again recently so its all fresh in my mind.

The Lightning Lord, Lem Lemoncoat and Tom O'Sevens (Now I remember his name) are members of an outlaw band (Lightning Lord was killed by the Hound in book 3 but was then brought back to life).

The Mountain that walks is Gregor, brother of the Hound, he was Cersi's champion in the battle to find Tyrion's guilt, he fought the Red Viper.

All of this was in the third book.

aaaah I remember now! Well I just bought all 3 books today, so I'll be fresh on everything soon :D

shadowhound 06-10-2004 07:39 PM

A very good investment, heck I would consider buying them if I wasn't a poverty sticken uni student :D

Sythe 06-13-2004 12:06 AM

I just finished the Storm of Swords and I have to say I am sad. Martin bloody left us with a ton of suspense.

My prediction is this

Arya would leave Westeros and be at a foreign land. Most likely Bravoos.

Bran would later have a stronger control on his shapeshifting abilties.

Petyr would reign the Vale and Lysa's son (I forgot his name =P) would become a spoiled brat to a more agressive and smarter person due to Petyr.

Tyrion ...well I have no idea. :D

Jon would refuse Stannis's offer and become Lord Commmander of the Nights Watch.

Stannis would lose Dragonstone but have control of the North and slowly build up his power.

Gregor and Sandor Clegane will both perish to their wounds. A shame about Sandor though he is one cool cynical bastard.

We would have a good explanation on how Catti Brie *AHEM* Catelyn is still standing.

If you haven't already, go here: http://georgerrmartin.com/ and click on the "Samples" link, it takes you to an Arya chapter straight out of Feast for Crows...she's on her way to Bravos ;)

Sythe 06-13-2004 12:07 PM

Thank you a million Lady Blue! No a ka zillion!

EDIT: My Arya prediction. She might learn to be a better fighter or other abilties in Bravos. And may come back to Westeros in the next book. (Maybe an adult by then)

I think Arya will end up being (one of) the last of her lineage. Then return to avenge her family, only to find that she needs to ally herself with her former enemies to save the world from the shadow.

Luvian 06-14-2004 03:02 PM

This is not a prediction but more of a wish. I hope that at one time Geroge R.R. Martin jump some times or something, and we see the characters as adults.

I'd like to See Arya as an Assasin, Sansa as a master or politics, john as the commander of the night watch, bran with control of his abilities... As it ended in book 3, all the characters are on their way to that, but knowing George, he might as well surprise us and kill them all, or make them go in totally different directions. They need time to learn, and they have little of that right now.

Sythe 06-15-2004 07:46 PM

You can never correctly predict what would happen in Martins books. never. One of the reasons I love reading them because Martin doesn't go into the cliche good vs evil thing. There are no characters truly good or evil. Like Jamie he is cynical and sarcastic but also has a little compassion in him. When he saved Brienne and given her the sword that was made from Ice.

Lady Blue03 06-16-2004 09:01 PM

Ya, Martin definately keeps you on your toes in this series. Personally, I never would have thought he would kill off half of the Starks, but there you go!

Sneeki Two 06-17-2004 10:40 PM

****SPOILERS ABOUND****

Arya goes to Bravos to become one of the Faceless Men (the assasin Jacin Hagar gives her the coin and tells her the words to speak) and becomes a Bravosi master swordsman to boot.

The Mountain and Hound both live (was praying the Mountain would get his...oh well).

Sansa finally gets killed off (boy is that girl stupid) or she becomes a master at the game of thrones under Littlefinger's guidance.

Jon eventually becomes the hero his brother and father never could have been, and also brings the Nights Watch back to its former glory.

I pray that something evil happens to Cersi. I just hate her and she always seems to have all bases covered(boy I would have loved to see her have to marry The Old Squid).

Brienne becomes one of the Kings Guard and Jamie finally becomes the hero he could have always been.

The Lighting Lord turns out to be the reborn Rhollor hero, not Stannis and Melisandre eventually gets shown what a true priest of the Lord of Light really is by Thorus of Myr. I personally think Melisandre practices more shadow magic from the Shi'ii(sp) than she does priestly magic.

Dany unites a large portion of the rest of the world and lays a siege to the Seven kindgoms old school style.

I hope Stannis gets killed sometime. He whines too much about what he should have been and what he is owed, yet still doesnt realize he lacks the necessary skills to be king.

Bran reawakens the Children of the Forest and helps expose the great evil that will eventually erupt from the North. I still havent figured out exactly what the Others are. I know the wights are undead for sure, but still not entirely sure if the others are a some other race of evil humanoids. Like the evil version of the Children (elves and dark elves).

Not sure where Tyrion goes from here, but he may go across the seas and meet up with Arya eventually or even Dany. He is a character I like and hope he doesnt get wasted.

Littlefinger and Varis... I hope these guys keep on truckin'. These two can probably run the Seven Kingdoms by themselves and I think they probably work together though they act like they don't particularly like each other.

Well those are my thoughts.

BTW I have all of these books in audio fomat unabrigded and they are great. Jeoffrey's choking on his pigeon pie scene just kills me(boy did he deserve that, LOL). Look to audible.com for downloads of all three books, with membership you get one book free at about $7. All of their books are on sale currently at 9.99 a piece now. Buying them in audio tape format is liable to cost 60ish dollars per book. And no I dont work for audible, hehe. My brother found their site and clued me in to it. Just passing the info.

Just my 2.

shadowhound 06-17-2004 11:02 PM

Nice ideas there Sneeki Two.

Lady Blue03 06-18-2004 03:09 AM

I hope Cercei dies a horrible bloody mutilated death. Even though Jaime somewhat redeems himself, I think he should die too. The incest and throwing Bran out the window stopped my liking of him (and thats only in the first few chapters of book 1! muahaha)

And as much as I like Dany, I certainly don't want her to wage war on the 7 kingdoms and win. Beat her AND her little dragons good and send her off with her tail between her legs, imo ;) :D

I disagree. I think he is more qualified then any of the others ever were (Starks included).

He is black and white on just about everything, with no grey area to move about in. I do think he'd make a great military commander. He runs a super tight ship, but as for ruling everyday folk I think he'd have just about everyone miserable.

Also Ned Stark was like Stannis in a way. He was almost as black and white, that is why he was eaten alive in the game of thrones against the likes of Cersi and all of the other Kings Landing crew. I think he truly believed in all that chivalry crap and what lords and ladies were supposed to do. The Lanisters had a much firmer grasp of what the real world was like. Hell, I think if Catelyn had accompanied him to Kings Landing he would likely still be alive. She had much firmer grasp on the real world and what people were really like.

Sythe 06-27-2004 04:31 AM

Nice prediction Sneeki Two. I am positive that at least one of your predictions is correct. And Lord Beric the reincarnate of the Rhllor hero. I can't believe I didn't think of that. But Dany is to a possible canidate.

And yeah I agree with you and Lady Blue I hope that high born Lannister wench perishes horribly. Receiving a more painful death than Joff.

God I hope Jon or Tyrion and Arya do survive. If Martin kills of any of these characters I'll kill him ....after he finished the entire series of course.

I've come to much the same conclusions as Sneeki Two. One other prediction that should be added to this is Memnoch's theory on John's real parents. It's somewhere in this forum and very smart. It's worth looking for it.
