OK, what is your best movie:
(mine's Fifth Element)

Xess Richo 02-19-2002 10:02 PM

Hmm, that is a tough one. Well, Of Bruce Willis films, then It would probably have to be '12 Monkeys'. Mine all fall into catagories. I don't really have a 'favorite movie of all time' or anything. I have favorite movies in different places. Like, best drama: Shawshank Redemtion. And so on. :D

Roxi 02-19-2002 10:11 PM

There are so many movies I like..... hmm, let me think.

Braveheart has got to be one of my favorites. And the one Xess Richo named, Shawshank Redemption. Green Mile. Erin Brockovich. There's too many.

"Tigers and Dragons" is my favourite.

("Seven", "6th sense", LOTR:FOTR and all the Starwars and Mad Max also come to mind it is hard to pick one, it depends on my mood)

Dreamer128 02-20-2002 03:19 AM

12 monkeys was great, as was LOTR. But my all time favorite is probably First knight. Other good ones are Waterworld, Goldeneye, ST:First contact and the Fifth element.
Edit: The Matrix was great too.

Nordoki 03-24-2002 03:42 PM

This is a rather biased poll. Most people have not seen, nor care to see, all the wonderful pictures that have been made a: before Color and b: before sound.

I am a fan of the silent films. My favorite silent screen actor is Douglas Fairbanks, Sr.

I also like many, many black and white movies including A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Campy by today's standards.

In the color era there are far too many to list, but I still like to watch the first Indiana Jones movie. The second was a major let down, but the third was real good too. I also like many of Sean Connery's films. In particular The Man Who Would Be King featuring Michael Caine.

Broken down into categories would also bring to mind far too many films to mention. But really all you will see listed are films that are fresh in people's minds and genres that they will normally gyrate too. Does anyone find Gone With The Wind a great classic?

The one thing I think we can all agree on is the worst movies ever made. Movies like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes or Night of the Lepus (a movie about killer rabbits which they are planning on doing a remake of).

Jonni Voodoo 03-25-2002 05:13 PM

I'm not a fan of old movies (though I did watch and somewhat enjoyed Wuthering Heights.)

My 'favorite' movie is 3000 miles to Graceland, and anything by Quentin Tarantino. The beginning casino scene and ending in 3KMTG is very stylish and includes some of the best gunplay I've ever seen. It's too bad the soundtrack was ruined with so many songs from the crap band korn.

My second favorite is Living in Oblivion. Too tough to describe.

selena 03-26-2002 11:34 AM

I liked Gosford Park recently - dont know if it's my all time favourite, but it made me think and grabbed my interest and I *cared* about the characters. Liked LoTR too, but I'm never wholly keen on adaptions from novels :(

Asphyxiate 03-26-2002 01:06 PM

My personal favourites in categories
Independent Movie: Pi
Trilogy: The Godfather Part I, II, III
Messed-up Movie: Jacob's Ladder
Action: Black Hawk Down

khazadman 03-26-2002 03:39 PM

nordoki i tried to watch gone with the wind once but found it to be dull.i couldn't watch the whole thing.and my least favorite movie is it's a wonderful life.

Nordoki 03-27-2002 01:17 AM

Just for the record, khazadman, I have never seen Gone With The Wind. As for Wonderful Life, after seeing it 10 times, I am quite sick of it myself.

Jorath Calar 03-31-2002 04:16 PM

My top 10 (no way I could just pick one), in no particular Order.

Empire Strikes Back
Clerks
Braveheart
Saving Private Ryan
Aliens
Gladiator
Raider of the lost Ark
Good Will Hunting
Lord Of the Rings
Love and Sex (I know it's cheesy but I just love it)
Actually I could make a top 100 but these are the once I remember now

Katherine 04-06-2002 10:24 AM

some of my favorites are:

Ikiru
Rashomon
High and Low
Barefoot Gen
Natural Born Killers
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
Jacob's Ladder
The Seventh Seal
The Magician
Thunderheart
the series finale for DS:9 (Avery Brooks is the hotest ST captain of all the series)

okay, that's what I could think of off the top of my head. I am sure I forgot to mention something I really loved.
