Wat do you think
Ps i think Gandalf |
Ok you asked for it
My favourite LOTR character is Tom Bombandil, he's the only one on whom the one ring had no efect, and I was very disapointed when he was not in the movie. |
Me too im suprised he wasn't in there
|
My vote is for Sam Gamgee. A simple person (not the same as a simpleton), he shows surprising courage & dedication to Frodo.
|

A second the vote for Sam. My favorite line in the book..."It's like we are inside of song, if you get my meaning..."</font> |
In the movie and the book, I would have to say Legolas
|
In the movie I would have to say Legolas followed by Gimli with Sam a close third. I think the best line is when the three hobbits crash in on Aragorn and Frodo and Sam yells something like "Let im go or i'll 'ave you longshanks!"
|
Aragorn, but more cos he's gorgeous than for any other reason...
|
I have ex-equo fav:
Aragorn and Gandalf |
My favourite LotR character is Aragorn cause he is the only good human fighter!
|
I'm going to be an oddball and say Treebeard.

*looks at all the people, then glances at the name beside this post* *nods approvingly* *walks out again* |
I like the dedication between Aragorn and Gandalf,Frodo and Sam,and Legolas and Gimli plus many more and thats also the biggest appeal to me in the books
|
Lol Legolas
|
Sauron!
Best Wizard, best Fighter. Can eat Gandalf, Legolas and the other goody-gooders for breakfast. |
<font color="gold">In the movie, I liked maybe Legolas best.
But my all-time favourite LotR-character, is Aragorn. No doubt for that.</font> see ya! |
In both the book and the film, I like Gimli and and Legolas the best. They are rock hard fighters who put others before themselves and never back down from a challenge. Aragon and Gandalf get all the credit for leading the Company, but I think Gimli and Legolas more than pull their share. They are the unsung heroes of the Fellowship.
|
One of my favourites was King Theoden, he fits the noble king catagory quite well (Well after Grima wormtongue was out of the picture). Next would have to be Legolas and Gimli, they make a great team.
P.S as much as I the film dissapointed me I did think that Sean Bean played an exceptionally good Boromir. [ 02-21-2002: Message edited by: Daniel ]</p> |
My vote goes to Gimli and Legolas in the book. The gandalf of the film.

Legolas all the way
(Funny pic of Legolas --->> http://www2a.biglobe.ne.jp/~haseo/ch...if/legolas.jpg |
In the movie:
The flash backs to Mt. Doom were worth their weight in gold. I love the scene where Elrond tells Isuldur to cast the ring into the fire, and Isuldur just gives him that smirk and walks away (ring in tow). So believe it or not, I like Elrond and Isildur (though their parts were very small). Elrond also came across more like I expect and elf to be (especially one who witnessed mankind at it lowest momment). He comes off with having great honor and he appears to be quite cynical of present day matters. He actually looked like he could take the battlefield himself if he needed (in the book I thought him more like watered down version of Gandalf). I also liked Boromir in the movie. He didnt come across as being as much of a jerk than he did in the book in my opinion. All the others were pretty much what I expected. In the books I didnt have any particular favorite. I liked all of the characters equally. Just my 2. |
I thought Ian McKellan was excellent as Gandalf, but the truest character was Samwise.
|
Tuff one between Legolas or Strider. I nominate them both.
|
Legolas, but i havnt read the book, so i am going only ny movie.
|
Well mine is Glorfindel of course
|
<font color=lightgreen>Id have to say Treebeard. </font>
|
Aragorn and Legolas in the movies, and Gandalf close third but in the books well, I'll second Treebeard.
