It started in 1986 I think as a 10 hour mini-series, then had a tv series that lasted 1 season.. I really loved it back then. NOW I look back and it looks cheesy, but still kinda brings back memories.. :D

I actually watched a number of those shows. Yeah it was really cheesy.
But we were so hard up for Sci Fi on TV back then. I would have watched about anything. The Mini series was ok as I remember though.

Oh Ziroc, I LOVED V. One of the best things ever shown on TV - although the 2nd 'series' where the girl grew up sucked big-time, the original was superb! Oh, the '80's hairstyles! I just loved it, included good social comment, but not in a patronising or preachy way.

Yes indeed. I watched every episode and read the books. Funny, when Earth Final Conflict came out the first thing that went through my mind was "V" spin-off!

Ahhh I remember that show.I was quite young when I saw it and I loved it.I remember,it came on once a week and it was the first time I was allowed to stay up late to watch anything.I think it aired at like ten o clock or something.

The mini-series was good, but I didn't like the TV show. I saw the mini-series again about a year or two ago on The Sci-Fi channel.

oh I remember V, I was 11 or 12 and became a big fan, watched it every week... except of course the last episode, I had to go on a schooltrip and missed it. Kinda sucked...

Actually, there were 2 mini-series, followed by the "regular" series.

The first mini-series ended with the beginnings of the revolt against the Visitors.

The second mini-series was all about the world wide revolution and the birth of the cross-species baby. (Actually twins. The human looking one that survived and the alien looking one that did not.)

Wow, now thats a long walk on the memory lane..
Yep I remember seeing it here on Swedish TV.. Hehe, was the best ever back then! ;)
Hehe, bad effects and everything but back then it was really cool!

Hmm, why don´t they make a comeback with V? Ithink I have a couple of comics from V as well hehe..

Yeah, it was a good series for its time. I can remember how shocked i was when one of the aliens took of his pseudo-skin. I saw it not that long ago and thought "oh well"

I know, it's never quite the same seeing reruns 15 years later, is it?

I like the mini-series better
always remember the gal unlocking her jaw and swallowing the hamster whole
or the idiot kid being taken away to be prepared as food

Micah Foehammer 01-17-2002 01:41 PM

Those poor hamsters ..... lol

Solomon 01-17-2002 05:01 PM

The mini-series was an event for my friends and I, circa 1982 ('83?). We all watched every minute. (I don't think any of us stayed with it as regular series, for some reason.)

I don't know if I could make it to the first commercial break now, though.

Epona 01-18-2002 09:11 AM

LOL I am going to play the Ironworks 'Nitpick' here, and point out that they weren't hamsters, they were Guinea Pigs....

You can pick up the miniseries and most of the episodes on Amazon it has become quite the cult classic
