The Slayers Only Store!
That's right, people. Ziroc has given me permission to construct a store, so I am going to start working on the store concept put forth in "It's The Jump-Off" thread at http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...8;t=001105;p=1 . Now, since I have not even touched the toolset yet, you have the perfect chance to make your suggestions about the regular items which will be able to be found at this location. I have no idea how it shall be implimented, but if you have ideas on what SHOULD be found here, please post them. I'll be keeping watch on this thread and keeping any and all updated on its construction. |

(Mixed feeling on location - lvl 9 makes more sense for the "slayer" idea but surely would be sweet to have better goodies before hitting 8!)
Harm scrolls. They're never available needed, and no well-equipped magic wielding adventurer should leave home without them! Potions in sets of 10. Heck, scrolls in sets of 10 - or at least more than one - would be nice. Z has done such a job at stocking the other stores with the usually favored weapons (and a few of the plain-jane unusuals), so why not make the more unusual available in their better-built variants? One can only equip so many longswords, scythes, greatswords, maces, etc. without beginning to long for something more exotic: Nunchacas of Nonsense, Goads of Goatiness, Light Hammers of Darkness. And then, of course, perhaps the Flind assistant might do a little tailoring on the side and 'custom' provide Mittens of Appalling Softness, the ever popular Dressing Gown of Seductive Death (+persuade and AC), Brilliant Diadem (+Int - or just Searing Light on hit ;) ), and the exceedingly rare Fluffy Bunny Slippers of Doom. ....going back to her caffeine now.... |
If it's for middle-powered folks it should surely be in that little-known, far corner of level 6, which I once explored, where you go round all sorts of bits and finally come across a locked, guarded door [unless there is a currently unmentioned but still somewhat dastardly plan for that still, small place within the dungeon]. And then we can stock up on goodies before we hit 7 & 8 and be happy bunnies [img]graemlins/bunny.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/bunny.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/bunny.gif[/img]
And what would it be called? I like the idea of 'Clive's International Goat Emporium' I shall start to think of what should be there but I do expect at least one pack-goat™ :D to carry more stuff for me. |
And can we please have a pump action shotgun (+10 vs long-eared rodents) to use on any bunny-related NPCs or items?

Can I have the shop around there anyway, I don't like crowds; 'tis why I shop on t'internet. Garnet, you can let him bring in the pump action shotgun (+10 vs long-eared rodents) as that may well work on chinchillas but will hardly work on a rabbit as rabbits are not rodents. On a more shop-related note I'd like to see some things like more custom boots (e.g. the way Krung's boots used to be, a mid-level baby-Durnan's) - Cookie's Ratskin Specials; bonuses to tumble, haste, search, 50% chance of protection against implosion.
- new and funkier helmet designs: Lulu's veil; spell bonuses - Charm person or animal, unlimited use! Gust of Wind (embarassing, surely). - Arrows, ability to buy multiple quivers (e.g. x20) in a single purchase {bulk buy discounting would be good but I won't push the point} - Shuriken, Bolts, Darts etc as above |
Arrows are as stacked as they can get, and this includes all other missile type weapons. Beyond a full stack, there's not much that can be done...

I do apologize on the lack of updates.
Been working on getting certain parts of my life together - including the new computer. I will make an attempt some time during this week to finally construct a basic store setup. So far, I know people want to see: scrolls in stacks of ten there, potions in stacks of ten, brand new arrows, brand new bolts, brand new darts, brand new shuriken, at least three kinds of brand new boots, a few brand new crossbows (large and small), one pack goat (which I don't think I can do), and a few other brand new items. If I missed anything, let me know. As well, could you all post up a list of scrolls most desired to see there? I'll try to have at least twenty scrolls available there, if not thirty. Ziroc knows which "new spells" I want to see, but he would have to add those himself. |
You're going to have fun with stacking the scrolls, as it will take making a custom copy of every scroll, setting it's stacksize, and being sure to mark the infinite check box. That's the reason there aren't a lot of those floating around. While it's not all that hard to do, it is a pain in the ass.

If I can't have a pack-goat™ can I have a custom magic bag that looks like a pack-goat™ - we have briefcases, surely a goat can't be too hard? (Or a pack-bunny™, pack-pig™....pack-bunny-pig®, fluffy pink purse, black-sequinned purse to go with my evening gown, functional day-wear purse - I just want different bag designs, dammit!)

no female gnolls in this *.hak file, so I have to go with a yuan-ti for the time being. other NPCS will need be added by Ziroc personally, as he has all the files I sent off of those. so today is the big day: actaully building two stores. the first store (Slayers Only Store) has been stacked with scrolls so far. customized items will be coming next. I'll have to design them each with a little tale, and then save the module. from there, it'll be up to Ziroc to choose what items he'll be keeping. as per the suggestions fronted, all the regular items will be removed and it will be all customized items - including CEP items. (I just hope that Ziroc was able to get that script working...) as well, I will warn you ahead of time there IS a markup on this store, so anyone with Appraisal will be valued here.

Yeah, the female Gnolls didn't make the latest patch, but I plan on making them. (I just have to put a pink bow on them) :D :D Just kidding.. hehehe, if only it was that easy, eh?

don't worry about making them. they are available through other *.hak files. the moment I find which ones, I will edit this post so you can get the links for it. as well, I was curious about the dynamic orcs and illithids I saw once, but I haven't seen them since. (CEP 2.0 has the gnolls if you want to strip them from there and then add them to MASSIVE v. 1.4) And no, I haven't died, just been busy with work. Also been helping out another server with maps, so after I send off the last batch I did for them, it'll be back to work on writing and the store. so far have some new items in the store, but I'll skim some more ideas from this thread and the other few threads to place in there. you should have by the time it's done a completely unique shopping experience in a bottle, ready to be placed.
(edited for punctuality) found 'em http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view...Detail&id=1872 and http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view...Detail&id=4021 which means with these we could even have an all gnoll/flind vs. orc/ogre wargames region... saw a bunch of different dynamic models. but that'd only be for fine tuning levels if/when you sought to release this out to the public. they didn't look that bad, but it's not all that important at the moment given the amount of models you have currently and the fact I believe you have the head *.hak files so simply use the non-standard heads with various models. It totally converts the entire levels into something more fun, more packed with things to do, and such. 6 to me is my worst level. [img]smile.gif[/img] Just 'plain'.. I'll still keep the current levels, just will make them break-off levels of the respective new level. Because the Xanather are about to become a big part of EFU--I'm sure you noticed them everywhere, so I want to redo their actual LEVEL! [img]smile.gif[/img] Gotta give them the real back history--which is actually in the Forgotten Realms lore, and in Waterdeep. (Nearly every enemy in EFU is based on real FR lore) except for the "Power Rangers" or Evil Cows.... ;) [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img] |
Will you be using that idea I posted about Levels Six and Seven having that "midway" sunken/drowned sewer level/region in there somewhere? I would love to see something like that, as I've never experimented with a swamp region within the toolset. As for the store, it was a learning experience if naught else. I will try to make a second store which will feature other items and such for players to tuck into and use against the numerous denizens of the Undermountain. First, I would have to know where you would intend to place yet another store, though. I know there's room in the Skulldeep marketplace for at least one more merchant, but I am not sure what I would place there (if anything). The items featured in the Slayers Only Store might be more suitable for a hideaway on Level Nine, so I might have to create another store for Level Six. I didn't make an actual physical locale for the first store, so you'd more than likely have to make a "walk-in" area for it. The same would go for a second store.
And as for the name, "Clive's International Goat Emporium" is a high possibility. THAT store might be more suitable for Level Six or Seven. It'd be a great place to dump off all the items one has picked up along the way, and get yourself restocked on various potions and scrolls. Not sure what else Clive and his (or her...) staff might have available there. *thinking about this as I write notes* Maybe a few unique rings and gemstones. I wouldn't mind seeing a forge there, though. Of course, that would require a whole host of new ~forge~ items to be possible. So that would be up to you, as I have no idea how to script anything like that in. Though I do like the idea of having that store possess new ~Dragon~, ~Heaven~, and ~Sorrow~ set items... And maybe even a quest where you'd have to find items from a set and bring them back to the store owner for a certain prize - like having the DPG mix with a scavenger hunt. (Not to mention having one of the mini-quests require you to bring up seven items from the DPG and present them to one of the staff for a unique prize in and of itself.) |
