Had to remove another bad HD, and it locked up last night, so all is fine now, and we won't be down like this again.

Release of this patch should--SHOULD be tomorrow. If the bloody PC doesn't explode then polymorph into a bat.

Welcome back, ya crazy devil!
*grins at ya*
`Bout time, too.
With no more qlippothic intervention, we should have the latest and greatest update very soon.

Good good... any chance of a holy avenger scythe in there somewhere?

I fancy being "good" for once.

We shall see. I know I have submitted two holy avenger scythes concepts thus far for Ziroc's perusal. One of them is a traditional scythe, while the other one is a nagamaki. Either way, they'd work for the damage adept character you are working on revising. If we are lucky, we'll see it within the next few weeks - after we figure out where Ziroc might have placed it. (And yes, just to be obnoxious I created a Holy Avenger for just about every major melee weapon I could think of.)

Dare I ask... Maybe some Holy avenger gloves?
P.S I haven't forgot about any other weapons, just been really busy with work.

At the moment, no. Never even thought of that. Went with Holy Avenger kama though. I do not know if you can put Holy Avenger properties on bracers or gloves. I will have to look into that for you. If and when I have an answer, I'll post a response.

robertthebard 11-19-2006 11:51 PM

You can, but if you're not a Pally, it won't matter. I think a very high level rogue, with a maxed out UMD may be able to take advantage of it, but a pure monk won't.

Now I am getting even more confused than usual.

I have never bothered with Holy Avenger in NWN because I thought it only added around 1d6 to damage and required a low level save against death on a 20 hit - something the Undermountain monsters would use to trim their nails with.

Does it do more than this? And is it right that only Paladins can use it? Some items with Holy avenger on them can be used by anyone. Perhaps the Holy properties only activate when wielded by a Paladin but as I don't usually play that class I don't know.

robertthebard 11-20-2006 09:44 AM

A Holy Avenger, in the hands of a Pally will add some divine damage, and will dispel magic on hit. Unlike regular dispels, however, this will remove auras, spell protections, etc, with a whole different table for DC saves. However, while I do this to be true, I have no idea what the table is. Also, a weapon with a +2 enhancement/holy avenger will be +5 vs evil in the hands of a paladin. Not a very effective weapon in Undermountain's lower levels, except that Merta's protections would melt away after a few hits, enabling the char to use more effective weapons.

roddybug 11-21-2006 01:48 AM

Hmm, paladin/monk? I must try that, I'll never fail a saving throw again!

Greything 11-21-2006 04:59 PM

I have tried a Dex based Monk/Champion of Torm.

Very, very big on defence but couldn't hit a barn door with a shotgun (sorry, ouc, should have said longbow with unlimited supply of arrows).
