You have fought many brave battles in Undermountain and have found enough treasure to buy your own kingdom.

Now Halaster has taken it all away and has teleported you to the level 2 areana with some of your closest companions. He is forcing you to fight to the death to see who is the best of the best. 20 people enter 1 person leaves....

Date: Friday/Saturday the 8th-9th of July 2005 (depending on Time Zone)

RULES - Can be updated at any time before the competition

1. You can enter 2 characters in the competition
2. Each match is 5 rounds. Best out of 5 wins.
3. Once you enter your two characters they will be placed in a hat and I will draw the initial brackets. If both of your characters are picked for the same bracket then Halaster (or his apprentice) will randomly decide who goes through.

BANNED ITEMS - Can be updated at any time before the competition
1. Ring of Harm.
2. Wand of Mords Disjuction (Wand of clean air)
3. Velomolsti Amulet of Power (The Unlimited IGMS one)
4. Amulet of Clearing (The Unlimited Greater Sanctury one)
5. Drow Trinket

Ziroc will decide the final prize. I'm hoping to have a statue of the winner or a sign declaring the winner in the inn.

Please post the following as your entry.

1. Login Name:
2. Character Name:
3. Character Level: (not Class eg. 20, 30 40 etc)
4. TimeZone:

Ding Ding Ding let the fighting begin.

So many choices.

AC or AB.

Dev Crit or Pale Master.

Spells or hitting power.

Seems like the scissors, paper, stone gane. It will depend who you draw in each round.

Decision made. Two will fight

Login Name: greying
character name: Kadan
character level: 40

Login Name: greying
character name: Zuma
character level: 40

Time Zone: Greenwich/BST. Think that's 5 hours ahead of EST.

One last question (or is this a a last request?). Will the banned items be deleted from our inventories when we log in or do we have to dump them ourselves.

Marathon 06-10-2005 09:45 AM

Login Name: kennmoon
character name: Marathon
character level: Will be 40

character name: The Watcher
character level: Currently 36, hope to be 40.

Keep then in your inventory. I will be trusting you not to use them. If the DM or me (if I have DM access) catches you using them then your out!

I respectfully request a first round match up with Sir Gettin Whipped.

Legolas 06-11-2005 05:55 AM

I must respectfully object to 6 out of 7 of those character entries. It seems only Leanna Bella is a registered Team IW member, and the sir(s) and/or lady/ladies Barbag Yumax, Anah Brensbannen, Kadan, Marathon, Zuma and Gettin Whipped are all of them illegal contestants, prone to random and immediate disqualification.

The matter may be resolved by their applying in this thread. Normally such requests take two months to process, which will be some time after the tournament, but if you shove sufficient gold in my direction we can see about making it sooner

As for my own entries, they will be Amana Carpenter (40) and Chara Telure (34).
The login name is Loreweaver and the timezone is GMT+1.

Gentlemen, you may now pen your testaments and arrange for your burials.

robertthebard 06-11-2005 10:27 AM

Be afraid, be very afraid, Anah Brensbannen has gone over your proverbial head, and now seeks to remove it, since it seems to do little more than hold your helmet on, it will reduce your total encumbrance. You will thank her for it, really, you will...

Cerek 06-13-2005 05:39 PM

Has a date been set for the tournament?

I have a couple of characters I'm trying to work on, but I'm rather inexperienced with NWN and online gaming. I don't know if I can get them to a sufficient level in time.

If I have enough time to level them up some, I will submit their names to be signed up.

T-D-C 06-13-2005 05:57 PM

Yup sure has:

Date: Friday/Saturday the 8th-9th of July 2005 (depending on Time Zone)

Chewbacca 06-14-2005 01:50 AM

1. Login Name: dawn_walker

2. Character Name: Zen-Don and/or Omega Dawn

3. Character Level: Hope to be 20th more likely 7th-15th

4. Time Zone: Eastern

It's a mixed bag how much I will be able to level my character(s). The two times I have successfully logged in in the last two weeks I didn't make it up even one level. Hopefully I can find a group of newbies to travel with between now and then and they can help protect my 7th level mage butt.

I have my heart set on a certain build that relies on going to 12th level mage, but if I can't make it there soon I'm going to add a second character who is more melee oriented and able to endure the starter levels.

Marathon 06-14-2005 09:32 AM

Chewbacca - I'll be on Wednesday and Thursday night I believe, if you see either Marathon or Drax the Destroyer give me a shout and I'll provide bodyguard service. I once tried to level a sorcerer solo and it was hell.

robertthebard 06-14-2005 12:00 PM

Yeah, I'll be on some myself, but I can't say who I'll be in with. Give a shout to party up, or that you need some help, someone will answer, and will help you. If you catch me, I'll either come back for you, or log on another to help get ya' ready. *hehehe, I need as many victims at the tourney as possible, hehehe.* Oops, did I say that out loud?? With some people so confident of victory I almost wonder whether it's worth entering.

Still, us cannon fodder must still try.

Two questions.

1. Are we allowing to enter NWN epic builds? If so, there are going to be some long contests.

2. Can I change my entry?

T-D-C 06-14-2005 06:15 PM

You can enter any build. Bear in mind I have taken down a whirling death build in under a minute.

You can change your characters at any time. Just edit your original post.

Greything 06-14-2005 06:43 PM

Thanks for helping the undecided.

For Zuma please substitute Timur Lenke.

I'm probably wrong but I assume the counter to a Whirling Death invoves a Pale Master build. I would be interested to hear more about that after the contest.

Good Luck and an easy death to all who enter.

I'll be keeping an eye on Greything in the arena. The boasting serves as light-hearted banter for the most part; I'm not a familiar face around pvp servers, it's simply not my thing. It's there for fun, and to make bragging rights interesting, and to make losing a fight truely painful :D
But this above quote I find highly suspicious. It smacks of an experienced veteran wolf pretending to be a newborn lamb...
No matter. My characters will eat anything for breakfast

Nope Not at all. Infact it was a archer build that is not on the Epic builds page. Its a character that legolas is after to avenge Stormy. Caaldor Truestrike

Xiphias 06-22-2005 04:43 PM

Are the matches going to be 1-on-1?

Also, there are bound to be a couple of matches where it ends up with neither player being able to damage the other, what happens in those cases?

T-D-C 06-27-2005 03:11 AM

OK we need another 2 entrants. Those people who ahve only submitted 1 entrant can submit another OR we can have some new people join in.

I am writing up the brackets now

So far we are looking at 3 rounds per fight. If you win you move onto the next stage. Their are 3 stages then the final.

[ 06-27-2005, 03:16 AM: Message edited by: T-D-C ]

Legolas 06-27-2005 04:06 AM

For the missing entreants, we can always have those two fights last and allow others who were knocked out in round 1 another chance at winning. Alternatively, we can say that those who were drawn to face missing foes automatically win, which would also solve any issues that may arise with last-minute drop-outs.

T-D-C 06-27-2005 04:57 AM

These are all round 1 fights so we do need those last two to make a even bracket system or we have 3 people in the final.

Idea: If we do not get the final two then we lose a round but the final is a 3 way fight.

Marathon 06-27-2005 08:35 AM

I'll go ahead and add in The Watcher to my entrants, level 36 (for now)...

robertthebard 06-27-2005 09:42 AM

I will add Davis Lantian IW.
Lvl 40
This should be interesting. When will the brackets be posted, to give us time to prepare?

Xiphias 06-27-2005 11:10 AM

Well I have another character I'm leveling up and was planning to enter, how many more would we need to make it even again?

I'll keep leveling him up, if I reach 40 before the brackets are posted I can always switch my wizard for him if I prefer him.

Will we know our enemy's classes beforehand so the wizards, clercis and druids can select appropriate spells (and rest obviously)?

And what will be happening concerning buffs? Will we be able to buff up before the fight or will we start the fight naked?

Also, any more powerful artifacts that won't be allowed? The magical drow trinket springs to mind (hellball 3/day, epic warding 1/day, dragon knight 1/day, usable by everyone).

T-D-C 06-27-2005 05:06 PM

OK we actually need just one more. I mistakenly added Robert the bards first character twice.

As soon as I get the last name the brackets will be drawn

Xiphias 06-27-2005 09:31 PM

In that case I've edited my earlier post to include my second character.

Of course if anyone who hasn't already entered wants the spot I'll happily withdraw him.

T-D-C 06-27-2005 11:14 PM

OK gotcha, that should be everyone.

I will do the draws now and post up the brackets later on tonight.

Casters will start *naked*, no buffing until after the bell. It wouldn't be fair to non casters to have a cleric spend five minutes in the ready room buffing for the fight, before he ever gets in the ring, be kinda like giving your opponent a valium before the bout, to settle his nerves...

T-D-C 06-28-2005 12:10 AM

All characters will start buffless.

I will be adding the Drow trinket to the banned list.

T-D-C 06-28-2005 06:34 AM

All entries closed.

Brackets posted in a new thread.
