I think Bioware herd us talking about their crappy server yesterday and put the wammy on us LOL :D

T-D-C 10-09-2004 01:52 AM

Yeah it was down for me before as well and I thought it was my wireless internet connection and was about to take it back LOL

All is good now!

Ravenbear 10-09-2004 04:45 PM

It was doing that for me last night, it seems that when the server resets it take a while to calm down.
Dunno if that helps.

Ziroc is your server running windows XP and have you installed service pack II or anyboby else for that mater?
acording to PC world magizine 2 percent of the people that installed SP2 have had problems with other people contacting them and with contacting the internet using internet explorier or firefox after the service pac upgrade.
I think I'am having that problem or was last night and this AM. It make me want to send microsoft and E-mail letter Bomb, if I could only figure out how to light the fuse. :D

shamrock_uk 10-09-2004 08:45 PM

Yeah, SP2 properly crippled my clean windows installation. Luckily I use Opera and aMSN so I'm not affected, but Internet Explorer and MSN messenger both refuse to connect to MSN passport sites and services...NwN also seems more unstable than usual...keeps crashing me out of Undermountain...grrrr

Naa, Server is running on a clean (tweaked clean) Windows 2000 Server Ed.

This happened once before.. I could be gamespy or the masterserver or something. I have seen a lot of postings about this exact problem. I'll still keep an eye on the server though, and make sure all is well.

TheCrimsomBlade 10-10-2004 10:40 PM

I'm really starting to think its because I added service pack 2 to my windows XP PRO. Microsoft has been swamped with E-Mail about it and they are suspose to have a fix befor next week end. Yeah right and I'll just hold my breath 'till then.

T-D-C 10-10-2004 11:26 PM

Try disabling your SP2 Firewall and see if thats affecting it. Or if that doesn't work uninsstall SP2.

You can uninstall it from your Add/remove programs.

I have held off getting SP2. Will proabably wait another month or so.

Moonunit 10-11-2004 06:49 AM

sp2=POISON!

It breaks over 300 common apps, including MS Office! Can you believe that? Nice of M$ to use us as their beta testers, eh?

Also, with the upgrade to NWN 1.64, Gamespy had to update their service. Many servers have been experiencing this exact problem over the last few days.

Hang tight, it should sort out soon.

T-D-C 10-11-2004 06:52 PM

Seems to have settled down. I've had no problems connecting to the server last night.
