I was just curious if it is part of a later quest. IF not when do you recommend attempting it, cause I didn't have to much luck and I've finished the Iron Throne Quests (4th Chapter I think).
Thanks! |
Hmm. Well, I would recommend clearing out the upper levels first, before moving to the lower levels. It is linked to another quest later on, but the other quest comes after it. I would recommend attempting the bottom levels once your characters are near or on the experience cap because it is quite challenging.

Don't try it until your fighters are at least 6th level. If your characters are at or near 89k, though, you should be able to handle it.

Good luck :D |
Soloing isn't particularly easy, either. Doesn't mean it can't be done.
|
Infact, it certainly can be done.
|
I can attest to soloing it as well. Of course, I did it with a sorcerer in BGTutu.
Bring plenty of potions, wands, etc. and do not be afraid to use them. I would recommend doing a good portion (if not all) of Chapter 5 first, then swing up to Ulgoth's Beard. Oh, and take it very slow, pay attention to everything (make notes and/or maps), and always look for traps. |
I was under the impression it (Durlocs Tower) didn't exist. I'll go looking for it later in the game. I'm playing BG over for the pantaloons. I'm attempting to get all three items in all three games.
|
Well you were wrong then. Durlags Tower (note spelling) does exist, and is infact a very challenging/fun part of the game.
Lol, and your doing bg1 again just for the pantaloons! You can get them in about the first 10 minutes of playing. Go on...admit it...you just can't help playing through one more time! |

I get the second in BG2 Swords and the thrid and last set in BG2 TOB. Granted, I have to be mean and criminal in SOW but its a requirement. My only problems are:
1) Yes, I am having too much fun in BG1 going everywhere even if I don't need to and thus am taking too much time (I'll be at this after XMAS). 2) I still can't find Durlags Keep. Could it be because I am a MAC person. |
Durlags tower only exists if you have installed the Tales of the sword coast expansion.
If you don't have it you can't play it. |
