I came up with a really cute idea for an EfU event: I call it "The Challenge of the Criminally Insane!"
Yes, the challenge of the Criminally insane! It's for Epic Characters (lvl 40) What you do is, you race to the bottom of undermountain with NO MAGICAL equipment. No magical weapons, no magical armor, no magical nothin'! The one who gets further then anyone else without getting their epic ass kicked wins. What they win, that's not for me to decide. |
hmm.. you mean just plain old normal weapons and armor? i dont mind.. it will be insane thats for sure. i think my dwarven defender might survive for short while with his damage resistance.
|
<font color=black>I am pretty sure my shadow dancer would be able to just walk the whole way with minor inconveniences down to about level 6. I'd have a good head start.</font>

You should exclude Monks from this event. A 40th level monk could go from level 1-13 without many problems.
I can see the challange for other classes though! Good idea! A few months ago, Ehrys and I did a run with sub level 20 items. All the uber items were erking us so we dicided to proove to ourselves that we could do it with items level 20 or lower. It was a blast!! Normal items... hmmmm I like the sound of that. |

Hey...it would not be the first time in Undermountian that I have actually done it!

The only real problem is; nobody will ever get by big RED. so much for that Idea! ;) |
No magic items.
And what about spell casters? Is their magic allowed? Shapeshifters? Other activated class special abilities such as an assassin's invisibility? Activated feats? What about magic items you find in Undermountain? Just trying to get the whole of the rules |
[qb] The only real problem is; nobody will ever get by big RED. so much for that Idea! ;) No one will get by Big Red? The Dragon on level 9? hmmmmm that one situtation sounds like a challange. Red is pretty darn easy compared to the other dragons in EfU. Only dragon easier than him is the red on level 5. I think I may toss a character teogether here and see about poking my head in Red's lair *brain muscles ticking away* [ 05-24-2004, 01:01 AM: Message edited by: Teri-sha Illistyn ] |
Big Red? To name a few...
-Devestating Critical -Harm spell -Teaming up with other madmen to bring it down -Running past as other madmen attempt to bring it down -Running past as your summons/familliars/animal companions distract it (By the way, would resting be allowed? ) |
exclude larrys shifter!!! :D . as well as mine. shifting will give them automatic strong weapons. so monk and shifter is out. mages and clerics would have the advantage here though. since they have spells to help them.
|
Sorc's would have big advantage as well with the amount of spells at there disposal. What about Multi clases ? anything not allowed ?
|
Keeping it simple and fair, everyone a level 40 fighter?
Then the week after it's everyone a sorcerer, next a 10/30 rogue assassin, after that... |
I still have my half-orc fighter.
Not a friendly fellow. |
well its more fun to have each of thier own unique character but we should exclude characters that dont rely on magical weapons at all such as stated already:
monks wizards/socerer shifter i think priest and druids can be included becuase they are not really powerful in spells since they need weapons to complement themselves. my 2c. about multiplayer.. well whoever is in charge.. its up to you guys. perhaps a maximum of lvl 10 allowed for the monks/socs/shifter ? another 2c :D . |
<font size=1><s>By the time you're level 40, even characters of the same class can be entirely different.</s>
~Edited to remove a bit about clerics. I've said nothing at all pertaining to their possible exclusion.~</font> You're right, we shouldn't restrict it to any one class. In fact, how about every character being of a different class, whoever claims it gets to play it So, I guess it's time to list the participants then? I'll bring a cleric :D [ 05-25-2004, 04:04 PM: Message edited by: Legolas ] |

One testrun under No Rest rules later and Leggy has brought a level 40 cleric safely to the ends of level 13 with enough spells to spare for the journey back up.
Equipment: full plate, mace and large shield. Kill Count: 8 turned undead. Kill Count of Summons: 25-ish. Problem levels: 10, ran out of energy buffers for traps. 11, Simply ran. Would you manage nekkid and weaponless: Yes. I'm confident about the match, bring it on :D |
Legolas
Did you use the henchmen? Because that could be used to (sort of) cheat. The Teri-sha Illistyn henchperson is lvl 41 and way more powerful than my characters! |
Henchmen? Of course not
I was the gnome running down while you and Teri-sha were having fun in level 13. You may have seen a few summons pop up and pass on, but the criminally insane need no help from anyone living :D I did have the advantage of a few doors being opened already, but I pretend-fetched the keys for them and that didn't prove to be all that hard. The only possible obstacle would be the frost giant king down on level 4, I couldn't verify that. And as Hark said, Quote:
So I'm in for a challenge there despite having 4 9th level slots left and a good collection of lower level ones. Yup, it'll be tough. Clerics are not at all suited for solo play |

I'm sorry. I saw remains and a dead Teri-sha in the in-betweenie bit before lvl 13 and I kind've assumed. I should watch cop shows more carefully. |
No need to be sorry mate, it's a fair question
