Just starting out in my game. Chose a Paladin. Dang she looks so hulky LOL, especially when armor is on her. Not that I'm surprised LOL. If you have the strategy guide, you see the puff.
I need some money LOL. I can't afford crap. My weapon at this time (and I'm trying to do the Graveyard subquest) is a Light Flail LOL. And my party keeps getting diseased (not me though hee) and I can't find anyone selling potions to errr, un-disease them. I thought Paladins could cure disease, but I can't seem to see it under any feat/skill options. Does disease just wear out after time? Blah, either way, I need/want more shops dangit! And more gold too, but alas no regenerating monsters, so not sure how to actually do that... Ah well, I'm enjoying the game nevertheless. Will continue it tomorrow when I'm refreshed (not drunk anymore). :D So far (again I'm in the beginning) here is my character. Red Rainbow, although she's neither red nor rainbowey. Her shield looks really sad LOL. And she has that confused "what the hell am I wearing" look on her face too. Can't say I blame her. http://img5.ranchoweb.com/images/ladyzekke/nwns2.jpg To be continued.... Oh and post your character pics! |
Invest points in diplomacy and wrangle cash from people in convo's. It doesn't count as a greed act (i'm a goodie cleric and I do it alot).

LZ,
At the graveyard and nothing better than a light flail? That's just so wrong ... lol Spoilers: . . . . . . . . . There should be a fairly wicked morning star, the Bone Phoenix, on the lizard chief in the lizard cave that appears right after you find Khelgar; and there is also a light hammer +1 called Storm. I'm pretty sure that I found a +1 astral longsword before the Graveyard as well - perhaps at the bandit camp. As for disease, it HAS to be cured - the effects do not appear to wear off after time. I checked it out by resting several times after Khelgar got fragged by a zombie and it did not disappear. You should be able to pick up some cure disease potions from the cleric in Fort Locke. Btw, if you can spare the added weight, hang on to everything you can't identify until you get both Neeshka and Eleena in your party. Between the two of them, they should be able to use their lore skills to identify almost everything magical you find. That will save a bunch of gold at the beginning. But otherwise, yes, money does appear to be scarce so far. |
I wouldn't worry about money too much, in time you'll have more than you can spend. I completely upgraded my stronghold out of my own pocket, those 70K you get from Nasher to start with are just peanuts. :D

Thanks Micah. Well when I step onto the blue circle that brings up your map areas, all I have atm is the Graveyard and the Bandit Camp. Nothing about a lizard cave. Is there anyway to access a better map than that flyspeck you get that they call the mini map (emphasis on mini!)? Maybe I could find it that way. Also, maybe I'll go for the Bandit Camp next and then try to finish the graveyard after that, hopefully with something better than my light flail LOL.

Try typing "m" and it will bring up a bigger version of the mini-map - which is totally useless. Make sure you move the map that pops up because it centers in the middle of your screen. Hit "m" again to close it. |
The lizard caves are not on the world map as a selection - they are a location between the Weeping Willow Inn and Fort Locke. I think it might be called "Swamp" something.
|
swamp cave iirc.

You have to talk to the innkeeper if I remember right to get the info about the cave and have it added to your map.
|
Yes, thanks guys. I talked to the barkeeper at the inn (had before but didn't ask about what he thought about the roads ahead, etc. option) again and then when I went back to the blue circle map area thingy, I had Swamp Cave then as an option. And I got a fancy firey Morningstar (Bone Cleaver or somesuch) from those lizard caves. Yay! No more flail! LOL I flailed it the hell away from me. I also found Cure Disease in my feats/skills doh! Think I added it recently when I leveled up in the Graveyard when I began it. Then forgot about it when I resumed gaming later another day. Sheesh.
Anyway, I finished the lizard cave, the bandit camp, and the Graveyard now, and it was much easier this time around! Again, thanks guys! Vesselle, oh I love your character pose! This game is great for good screenshots. |

The heal ability (the skill) also cures diseases but you need healing kits. It is actually a real good skill when you don't wanna waste spells and have kits just piling up. Heals HP and cures people at the same time. The graveyard is like a walk in a (headstone-filled) park for my Cleric, since everything just falls flat on it's face when I hit turn undead. I sometimes fight them just because my part has nothing to do. Pallies turn undead a few levels lower than Clerics so I dunno if you can aoe-kill them all outright. |

When I use Turn Undead it basically paralizes them, which is cool cause then I can hack away at them, but unfortunately some just don't seem to get affected by the paralysis. I figure in time all this will improve as I level up. Either way, Turn Undead worked VERY well in the graveyard nevertheless the level of it, better than nothing! |
where are all the character screenshots? :(
this is my human CG barbarian, Verdiana Hillsider. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/vesselle/nwn3.jpg V***V |

What's with the bald chicks lol

Wow that IS quite a transformation Vesselle LOL! Maybe it's a side effect of that enlarge spell?
|
Hmm, maybe it's a side effect of one of the shards.
Shard: 'physical' bonuses. |
I don't want to post a screenshot with all my options turned down to zero. Maybe when I upgrade my laptop. :D

I wonder what that dwarf(??) is looking at(down to the right)? :D

i've gotta admit that i'm getting kinda bugged over cutscenes where the camera goes wild and you end up looking at butts while the story unfolds. :( V***V |

It's actually pretty hilarious when Enlarge Personning Bevil at the start and then watch him moan about the shard. Is he using ventriloquism? :D
