Well, it's official! NWN 2 will ship Oct 31 for you lucky peeps in the US, and Nov 3 for us Europeans. Source
Despite all the bad press this game is already receiving I for one am really looking forward to it. Finally a good excuse to stop playing WoW for a while |
Yeah, my local EB Games shop told me yesterday that the earliest they will have it on their shelves is November 1st. Ziroc must be estatic!

Oh yeah. SO excited. Not. If anything, it will mean a few less players in my EFU Mod for a while--until folks get sick of NWN2.. :D ;)
I'm still gonna get it. Gonna review it, and see truly how it is. Hell, it may be pretty good. The toolset is ok.. With Plugins it probably will be much better. I remember NWN1's shipped toolset was baaad.. |
Well, Z, I trust your opinion because you have invested so much time into NWN1. Look forward on reading your experience and observations.
|
True, a fact which seems to escape a lot of the naysayers over at the NWN2 forums. However, it has also been very well supported, and if Atari sticks to their guns...We shall see.
|
I too am optimistic. Like I've said, won't be a bad thing to play a new D&D game for awhile eh?
|
I pre-ordered it - this and MTW2 are the two games I've been waiting for. I'll let you guys know my first impressions when I get it.
|
interesting.
so it has finally gotten the thumbs mid-way from you, Ziroc? well, I know I will be getting it. I know I will be playing it. I know I won't be doing either for a while yet. and I know I won't be giving up EFU. end of line. |
I will be getting it regardless of the reviews. Soon as I finish the SoU and HotU campaigns.
|
Same. Toolset may not be what NWN's 1 is but we still have an OC to look forward to. And after a previous title with 3 expansions it's hard to F that up. There is also the modules to play etc.
|
I really hope they put time into the OC, because thats what makes a game great, IMO. Every role playing game iv'e played has been either good or bad relying on the main story and the possibilities ofdoing cool things, like lots of side-quests
|
Yeh, I hope it'll be awesome! I mean, it IS a Forgotten Realms game, and those are rare these days!
The Toolset outdoors editor IS amazing, and looks cool. I saw that a model importer and exporter is now made even!!! So that is killer! I'm getting NWN2 And Might and Magic Dark Messiah. Should be good! Then Battlefield 2142 for non RPG. And then Need for Speed Carbon... YIKES!.. Too many... |
Yeah there's alot coming out before the new year. WoW BC, Might and Magic, NWN's 2.
|
Oh lord... I totally forgot about the WOW expansion. *cries*.. oh well, I can get a few for Christmas maybe
|
So, Z, does the new tool set look better than you thought?
|
You know, I was almost tempted to purchase a copy and send it down to Ziroc for "approval" to be honest. *grins* But as he will be getting his own issue of the game to evaluate, I can save my cash and put it into other effects, like a new hard drive or at least a new power supply for the computer I am trying to build for myself. I feel that much better that he's going to be taking his own look at the new NeverWinter Nights game as I don't go to the Bioware/Obsidian forums often enought to be thoroughly educated by the legions of fans, skeptics, and designers.

System requirements on the high side!

eeeek.. poor computer
|
I just barely made the cut with my graphics at 6600 being the least of the accepted ones that will run it!
Freak! When I get outta school, the computer I'll build will be the bee's knees (for about 1 year). |
Let's all give our cheers to Ziroc for his artistic addition of
http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...forum_logo.jpg which reminds me that when the game does come out and we're ready to start posting about it...please remember to differentiate posts of NWN1 and NWN2 or SoU or HotU tabs in the topic headings so as to avoid confusion... And remember to avoid posting Spoilers without properly marking them as such for those of us that will wait and let the game be tested by our rich friends before investing in it ourselves. |
mein gott...
did you SEE those requirements? I will have to complete the new computer I am working on before ever opening the box! I now feel like those FPS gamers who were foaming at the mouth for the release of Doom 3 only to be told that their state of the art computer was utter shyte before the requirements of their new digital gods. I have to get brand new everything then - starting with the graphics card (and I am using a 6600 NVidia at the moment I believe...) I just hope my final generation AMD chip will be able to keep up, as I won't be spending $300 on just a CPU to play ONE bloody game. I knew already I was going to need around 2GB worth of RAM for my computer just for my own purposes, but to be TOLD a game will need all of that just for itself? That's bleedin' insane! ATARI will get sued for emotional damages if this game sucks donkey doughnuts, you realize that, eh? Quote:

My PC passes the recommended.

So does mine. I saw a dev post that he uses a 9800 pro and it runs smooth. I seriously doubt the graphics will be as high as Oblivion, they look like updated Guild Wars graphics. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
|
I'm not buying it until I hear how it is from you guys. I have learned that neither Atari nor Obsidian can be trusted to insert their thumbs in their backsides, let alone make working video games.
|
My vid card doesn't...and I just upgraded...
