I have heard from several different sources that one may pick pocket (PP) Drizzt of his +3 scimatr, Icygarth, or something. Anyways, I tried PPing him several times and all I recieved was a "target has no valid items" message. I do NOT have TotSC, and have heard that w/o it one would be able to PP all Drizzt's stuff. So now I am very confused. Any help in clarifying this contradictory issue would be much appreciated.

I have TotSC installed, and I managed to PPocket Drizzt using Imoen. Admitedly it took a lot of reloading, but it is possible.

With out ToTSC, I had the same problem: "Target has no valid items." So I just went ahead and killed him [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]

Yeah, I was using Garrick to pp him, and like i said, just got the message. Oh well, it was worth a try.

why didnt you just buff her thieving up to 150 or something which would Guarantee a succesful pickpocket?

He wants Imoen to have other thieving skills besides Pickpocketing, Ross. ;)

ah. I meant use potions to get it up to 150 not all your skill points.

Potion of master thievery or potion of perception will do the trick [img]smile.gif[/img] .

thats strange...i remember PPing the two swords off him, though i couldnt PP the armor. there are only 2 solutions i can think of, which are:
1. the latest patch has something to do with it, one way or another(dont remember if i had it installed)
2. you have to PP him while he's fighting the gnolls(IIRC, this is how i did it).
thats all i can think of...

I have never been able to pick pocket both swords from Drizzt. But I think I have PP'ed the +3 sword both with standard BG, TotSC and DSotSC.

I never tried PPing on Drizzt due to I always played with good partys and figured he was no harm. Is he really as hard to fight as I hear.

Drizzt is pretty unbeatable in a fair fight in BG1. Though there are of course ways of beating him by exploiting loop holes or bugs.

WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Try to abuse those loop holes with the DSotSC MOD installed - I tried - and failed :D . I am very happy about it though, because I think the people behind DSotSC fixed the 'poor AI loop hole' in a very clever way, which is also exellent when it comes to a discussion about role playing and ethics.

I wish I had those stats on my player character, but on the other hand: The game would have been too boring then :(

lol... those stats of his seem so low after i finished BG2..

it beats me how one can steal someones weapon when he is fighting with it and without him noticing...

they're just THAT good! lol. ;)

Well - with the stats he got (se above), he simply needs to have WIS 3 and INT 3 - thats the reason, why he do not notice ;)

It is even funnier that eventhough you steal one of his scimitars, he keeps on fighting with two scimitars. Maybe he got a spare +3 scimitar, that crumples to dust if he is slain?

::raises hand:: Just a friendly reminder! Don't import your char to BG2 with those scimitars, because the game will think the only way to get them is to kill Drizzt. You don't want the game to think you did that, especially if you didn't.

I think if you have high enough charisma you can get round that though.

You can, but it's just not a situation I would want my character to be in. A CN rogue doesn't deserve the same wrath a LE fighter-mage does.
