Yeah baby! I am a level 13 Druid, and I did that druid at Beorunna's Well that favor he asked. You know, a casual 'rescuing an Uthgardt Tribe' thing. When I gave the Red Elk leader the antidote and teleported back to the druid, he gave me this ring! It's awesome, it grants Improved Evasion, gives out Normal green light, and a whole bunch of other crap that I forgot. It's awesome! I just have to ask.... (1)will any Uthgardt Red Elk warriors attack me anymore off the hillsides? and (2) Will looting any of those abandoned homesteads near the Red Elk fort do me any good, a.k.a magic items, plot items? and (3) Will the commander at Fort Ilkard give me an award for making peace with the Uthgardt?

1) I suspect they'll still be hostile, but I haven't tried. Usually I've killed all the Elk tribesmen around the fort before curing the plague.

2) There is a mini-quest involving one of the homesteads. Talk to a named gnome in one of the barracks. Otherwise, there's some random treasure.

3) The commander of the fort is a pig. I would have killed him, except that makes all of his men hostile. No, he won't reward you.

Yeah, is is a pig. He complains to you because the "savages" are attacking, but actually he was the one who created the alliance between the Elk tribe and Luskan! He should be put in prison, because he caused many deaths, in war and in plague, but he is still left commander of the fort! Anyways, I got a good spear out of the deal, and a cool ring, so I'm happy.

That spear is actually an item wanted by one of the NPCs. I was surprised, since I was able to sell it. You can probably guess who wants it.

Re 1) The Elk guy tells you that the elk warriors will still attack you because the word about the cure won't have got round to all of them, so they'll still be hostile.

It is?! I sold it!!!! :(

AndyG 08-25-2002 09:25 PM

I did too. You should be able to buy it back from where you sold it, if you can remember where that is.

You need to kill the commander and relieve him of the antidote to cure the elk no? Well I did that and every thing worked out just fine...

If you talk to him about it and give him money, he gives you the antidote without you having to kill him. ;)

magnetism 08-27-2002 05:33 PM

Yeah as if I would give someone money to do the right thing I would much rather beat it out of them...twas for the best.

AndyG 08-27-2002 07:32 PM

Whenever I attack Damas, I then have to fight every soldier in the fort on my way out. It didn't seem like a good idea to be killing my side's troops in the middle of a war.

Willard 08-27-2002 09:02 PM

Oh man.... I sold the spear to Yuman, the Druid by the well, and to buy it I will have to pay 16,000 gp!!!! Man, I'm not paying that kind of money for an Amulet of the Red Tiger Tribe +3! At least, I don't think I am...
