if i have a halfling fighter or fighter/thief with 17 (max) STR and i find some sort of magical thingy that increases my strength permanently by one point to 18 will the game roll an exceptional strength score for me?
|
hmm...not exactly sure what youre asking, but i think what youre asking is wether or not you get the -to hit rolls- of 18 strenght, correct? if so, then yes, you should get those...
|
sorry, tried to be too vague!
no - i meant which of the following will happen after reading a STR tome: 17 -> 18 17 -> 18/xx (because of the fighter component) ? [ 09-30-2003, 07:31 AM: Message edited by: Armen ] |
oh, right. then im afraid youll just have 18 strenght, not 18/01+
|
what do u mean ur afraid. 18 is better than say 18/31 aint it? I know 18/00 is the best so is 18 not just that?

The STR scale for fighter-like classes goes like this: 18 < 18/01 <...< 18/31 <....< 18/76 <....<18/00 |
Ross,
18 is like 18.0 18/01 is like 18.01 18/50 is like 18.5 18/00 is like 18.999999999999999999.......... well you get the picture. |
But a plain 18 strength is still pretty good ;)

(although i'd settle for a gnome with 20 DEX and +5 to save v. death) ;) |
well once u get to 19 (if u get to 19) then u wont have to worry about 18/00 etc
|
there are also items that give you better strength, look for those.
