There are many options out there for NWN players. I'm curious where you'll all be playing.

Memnoch 04-25-2002 06:45 AM

Location wise? I'll be at home, I'd say.

Galadria 04-25-2002 08:49 AM

I shall be playing (at home, of course, Memmy ) with El'lar Vel'xundussa, Velkyn (Dreamer128)'s group. He has a post on this forum about it.

You aren't going to use a wireless modem and play on the bus? Oh... I had really hoped you were going to do that.

But, on what server or system or persistent world or...? Hmmm, Mr. Smarty? There are a lot of very interesting projects going on and I'm just curious what people are going to do. This game opens up so many options.

Yikes! Between doing some design work on dungeons for various projects (I'm still working on those Ziroc! lol) I haven't even THOUGHT about where to actually PLAY! I better get on the stick!

Good question. I haven't really thought about that yet. Guess i'll have to think of something. Gamespy Arcade will definitely be a last resort...

Will definately try to play at El'lar Vel'xundussa but am afraid I need a broadband for that so I am planning to make some of my own modules and also talk with a friend to perhaps dedicate a server if I am nice enough and supports him a bit! ;)

What is that project about?</font>
Wll the best way to find out is to go there and talk with the people. But mainly it is to keep a friendly environment for people to start MP games over the net and have people to play with and exchange ideas, mods, maps and experinces.

Here it is:
http://www.xsorbit2.com/users/velkyn/index.cgi

It is not a place competing with IW, but solemly to find players for NWN.

Interesting site. Thanks for the link. The best project I've seen so far is A Land Far Away. I'm a member there and at one other PW. Their emphasis is on role play. They are recreating the world of Toril on over a hundred different servers. It's really a great group with a lot of talent at the steering wheel.

I think people are going to have a lot of really neat projects going on once the game has been out for a while.

Looks nice, but it feels a bit large and unpersonal. We are a small group by choice.

Are you a member of that forum, too?

Yeah, it's big. There will be a good player/DM ratio, though. We'll see how it plays out. I think it will be very good. The other group I am a part of is much smaller and I have high hopes for some great interaction with the DMs.

With a big (quality) player base, you can have a lot of diversity where the world takes on a life of its own. You might also be left feeling like you are ignored by the DMs, though. In a smaller group, there's more intimacy, but less variation of player style. I think both situations have positive and negative aspects.
