i've searched almost everywhere and i cant find that collasiam place. where exactly do i have to dive?

bsftcs 11-21-2004 07:46 AM

Be sure you are at the Lost Sea - not the Enchanted Sea. To get to the Lost Sea you have to complete Anephas's Shrine and exit on the other side. (Unless you cheat a bit and tree surf there).

Once you are at the Lost Sea swim towards south until you find the place where it is widest. Cast the "spirit eye" spell. On your map you will now see four white dots in the water. 3 close to each other and 1 slightly off. These represent 2 levers and 2 treasure chests. This is Collasium. Dive to the 1 white dot that is a situated a short way from the other. That is where you enter. You have to dive into the basement of a building.

If you have trouble finding it, remember Talrik's treasure map. If you search the western rim of the Lost Sea you will find a small grove where his cart is... Collasium is straight east of there.

Hope you find it.

Bsftcs has got you the right information. If you're in the wrong sea, you just won't find it

Others have reported that your ship (if you're using one) seems to slow down in the area above Collasium. I've noticed that I get funny sounds if I swim under water, then surface and jump up like a dolphin (okay, or a whale ). When I land, it's... different. That tells me I'm in the right area.

Taski 11-22-2004 03:54 AM

There is one point over collasium where ur ship really STOPS - u cannot sail over this point imho. There u find the lost city.

aleph_null1 11-22-2004 02:42 PM

On software rendering (not sure about hardware enhanced stuff), when water skipping in the general vicinity of the city, you'll see this big blue elevated square of water telling you when to dive. Hard to describe, but pretty impossible to miss ...

burnzey boi 11-26-2004 04:38 AM

my boat is stuck on the waters edge near the pirate with no crew, how do i get it out?

jsalsb 11-26-2004 07:15 AM

Hi there burnzey boi. You're not the first to get shipwrecked there!

If you don't feel like going back to an old save, then you can get off using either Vanish or Portal spells. Return to Portal is the most reliable. Just leave your ship, create a portal in safe waters, return to your ship and click on the helm, then cast return to portal. This wi;ll get you and your ship safely away.

If you don't have these spells yet, just leave your ship there for now (don't really need it), and come back for it when you learn them.

PS - very VERY happy to help out, but if you don't feel like waiting for our half of the International Date Line to wake up and respond to your query, try using the board's excellent search feature. 99% of all problems have been encountered before over the last 4 years and will have an easy solution already documented.

But again, no worries if you just feel like asking away!

burnzey boi 11-26-2004 08:16 AM

another thing, where is that bluebeard guy? my ranger sometimes says bluebeard has been here but i never see him.

jsalsb 11-26-2004 08:51 AM

Your tracker is probably picking up his scent when you are on the other side of a "hedge row" of trees from Bluebeard somewhere on the rim of the Enchanted Sea. Don't worry, you'll get to him soon enough. He'll be right across your path when the time comes!

jsalsb 11-26-2004 10:23 AM

... I assume we are both talking about BLOODbeard here... right?

[ 11-26-2004, 03:47 PM: Message edited by: jsalsb ]

burnzey boi 11-28-2004 06:34 AM

yeah... are you allowed to kill him without doing anything to the game?

jsalsb 11-28-2004 09:51 AM

wait till all who qualify have gotten the Bloodbeard quest first. Then do the deed.

does i lose importent items like this?

aleph_null1 11-28-2004 03:56 PM

I'm not a fan of tree surfing, but it does have some strong adherents.

Basically, climb up a town gate (run forward while looking up & jump) and then hop along the tops of the trees using the same combination of run / look up / jump until you get so bored & frustrated that you just kill yourself.

Have fun!

There isn't any quest that "requires" you to cheat - of course we also have to know how you define "cheat". ;)

There are some (cough) undocumented features in the unpatched game which some consider cheating and some see as just making excellent use of the game's capabilities.

There are quests (such as the treant seed quest from the Magic Shoppe in Brimloch Roon) which are more difficult to fulfill given fairly normal game play. Most of the Treants are to be found in the Lost Sea area rather than in the Enchanted Sea area. You can simply wait until such a time as you manage to make it into the Lost Sea area to fulfill this quest or you can try spending a lot of time around Talrik hoping for the very rare appearance of Bark Horrors in that area (VERY rare) or you can kill Oakenmir (no!!!) or you can try Vanish or treesurfing to get to the Lost Sea earlier than possible following more normal game play. You don't HAVE to treesurf - it was just a fun work around that some player discovered.

it is just a nice way to say:
"well the game is good and all, but i like it better when it esay and i don't need to think how to go throug all of the mazes"

well with that attitude i am wondering why people continey to play fair(there should have been a smaely here, but i dont know how to put one).

Bungleau 11-29-2004 10:17 AM

It's all a matter of perspective, really

For example, the game has the trait of fletchery built in. Once you have it, you can create arrows all the time.

If those arrows happen to be highly enchanted dragon arrows, your money problems are over.

I know at least one board member (Radek?) consider that to be a bug, and not part of fair gameplay. Others consider it to be an advantage in the game to be used to its fullest. Whether it's a cheat or not depends on your point of view.

For example, I consider tree-surfing to complete the second wizards' guild quest in Brimloch Roon to be fair, and not a cheat. Why? Because I'm sure the designers didn't intend for the completion of one quest to prevent the completion of the following quest.

Tree surfing to bypass large areas of the game? Not fair, and a cheat. Unless you're trying to play a boutique game (like shortest completion time or something), that is. I don't think it belongs in regular gameplay.

I do have my own weakness, which is arbitrage. That's the business word for recognizing that something bought in one place can be more valuable in another place, and by transporting the item from the first place to the second, you can make money.

Perhaps the game designers didn't intend for the two places to be the guild shop at the warriors' guild or bushi dojo and the front counters of those respective buildings, but what am I to do if I can buy a willow arrow +1 for 500GP and sell it in front for 750GP?

Guess I'm just too much of a capitalist... :D

As for putting smilies in, you can quote my post to see several examples. Basically, every smiley has a text equivalent. For example, this: :D is composed of two characters -- : and D, put together with spaces on either side. Just put the text equivalent in your post, and the smilies will appear magically :D

There is a limit of eight smilies per post, which I'm probably dangerously close to, but other than that, have fun!

Oh, and there's a list of the known smilies on the top of the page. Click on the Graphics Library link, and it will take you to them.

Now, go out and have fun

bsftcs 11-29-2004 02:06 PM

You do not like cheating!?!

I love cheating. To me cheating is a way of living. But then again, I am a lawyer. ;)

a lawyer ???
how old are you?

Bungleau 11-29-2004 02:57 PM

My good friend bsftcs is a freshly minted lawyer, and should be reminded on occasion that lawyers also exist to *prevent* cheating ;) But he's still a nice guy anyway... :D

i did not get it .
a reall lowyer?

bsftcs 11-29-2004 06:00 PM

Yes, I am a real lawyer, alright. And I am 26.

Bungleau 11-29-2004 10:46 PM

Sorry, Dragon2005. Sometimes I forget that many of the folks on the board are from countries where English is not a native language, and I write things that are too hard to follow. Like now, I think

Anyway, as bsftcs has admitted, he is a lawyer. He's also from Denmark, and another non-native English speaker.

What I was trying to remind him of is that lawyers can be nice, too.

dragon2005 11-30-2004 02:52 AM

i dont beleave that a 26 person will play computer games .

i am 16 and i think that after the army i wont continey playing camputer games.
but i do want to be a lawyer. and a all ready study law in scholl

bsftcs 11-30-2004 09:47 AM

In that case I can hardly procure any proof of my age that would convince you, but I think you would be surprised if you knew the age of the prominent members of this forum - indeed the average age of all the members of the forum.

jsalsb 11-30-2004 10:29 AM

Mah shlomchah, Dragon2005? I haven't served in the army, but I did spend about 10 days in Gadna in 1982. That was enough to convince me that I DID want to play computer games later in life!

aleph_null1 11-30-2004 12:16 PM

And what about Felix & me, who play games while in the military? :D

Whether you believe it or not, lots of older folks play computer games. Since you are having difficulty believing that bsftcs is 26, how much more difficult will it be for you to accept that I'm 53? It's true!! :D I have a 14 year old son too! :D
And my father-in-law who is 75 plays computer games too!

are there people arund my age here?

lama lo haita ba thava? i really want to go there and by the moust krave

jsalsb 11-30-2004 03:06 PM

Dragon205: mah zeh thava? Army? I'm not Israeli, I'm Canadian, so I did not have any legal reason to be in the Tza'hal. I was there for the summer with my high school in 1982, and we spent a couple of weeks in Gadna.

Yes, there are some teens on the board - and I believe there were more when the game was fresher - it's even posible that some of us *were* teens when the game was fresher !

PS - Ani loh midabehr Eevrit. Ani yodeah "mah shlomch," zeh hakohl! Haiti b'beit sepher Eevrit sh'haiti yelled katahn. Shachachti et hakohl! Ha'Anglit shelcha kohlkach tov shel ha'Eevrit sheli!

PPS - to all others - we're not telling secrets! I'm just showing off the very very little and poor Hebrew that I know (and I use the word in the loosest posible sense!)

PPPS - I *think* I wrote: "I don't speak Hebrew. I know 'how are you' little else! I was in hebrew school when I was a little boy, but I forgot everything! Your english is way better than my hebrew."

Wyvern 11-30-2004 03:15 PM

We've had players/posters from all ages - some younger than you, dragon2005, and some older. That's pretty normal for here. ;)

aleph_null1: I take it by your 'from' line that you are either USN or USMC?

So So 11-30-2004 09:02 PM

first off...... congrats on the lawyership bsftcs.... do not believe I had done that as of yet... last I heard you were still trying to pass your bar?

hum moving right along.... yea I am a teenager still playing this game.... although there are better games out there... I still enjoy this classic... but I think I will be like the older members of this forum.... I will continue to play these great games as I age.... maybe even when I'm in a nursing home!... hahaz...

USN, currently assigned to the US Naval Academy (which affords me the time to drink and play games for a couple years still).

dragon2005 12-01-2004 02:40 AM

in the isrealy army you cant play games .
not comuter or any ather.
and as you can read my english is really bad.
all this spelling problems.

Bungleau 12-01-2004 11:57 PM

To add fuel to the fire, I'm 38 and I still play computer games... quite a lot, actually. Perhaps I'd better slow down

And to put things in perspective, Felix is now playing while leaving the military His long career in the military is officially ending January 1, IIRC, and he's started the delisting process (as opposed to enlisting).

And finally, one of the nice things about this board is that we have so many people from different places. I know that bsftcs speaks English far better than I do Danish, that dragon2005 speaks English far better than I do Hebrew, and that Radek speaks English far better than I do... Czech, I believe. I'll even give jsalsb the advantage in English over my French, though French is my second language. I'm too rusty :(

Bottom line, we've got people here from all over the world, and we all know it. So no one gets on anyone else's case about grammar and stuff like that. Except on the General Discussions board, and there, it's usually friendly. :D

jsalsb 12-02-2004 10:00 AM

Actually, my french sucks. It's quite embarrassing really. I was born in Montreal, lived most of my life here, yet can barely carry on a decent conversation in the primary local language. I usually just lie and say I'm from NYC (I spent a lot of time when I was young in Manhattan, so I can fake that one pretty well )

...And I think, if I'm not mistaken, that So So is either from China (or Hong Kong or Taiwan, etc.) or at least is of Chinese heritage.

Bungleau 12-02-2004 11:57 AM

I speak two words in Chinese, and I don't know which one is which I saw that Rusty is from Zimbabwe, too... we are definitely a multi-country group around here!
