1st off how do you get the treant seeds off Aokenmir(the living tree) he lives north-east-north of anephashrine(temple of Isis)
2nd how do you get rid of bloodthirst? one of my warriors is dying from it and I can find a way to fix it. 3rd do you have to do anything alse with talrik's treasure after you've got it? |
Good questions...
1. You can only get one seed off of Oakenmir, and to do that, you'd better pickpocket him. It took me hundreds of chances before I succeeded... and if you kill him, you only get one chance. If you anger him and he calls for backups, you might get seeds off of them. Same pickpocket rule applies. And if you want to bypass the whole thing, there are a number of treants over in the desert on the other side of Anephas' shrine. You just have to get there... 2. Bloodthirst, eh? You need to bite someone... and not play around with girls you don't know so well Check... Loumistro's post toward the tail end of the Best Tips thread on how to play the game as a vampire. 'Cause you is one... 3. Nope. Talrik's treasure doesn't do anything else for you. And by this point in the game, it doesn't do much for you anyway. Good luck! |
G'day eternal mat,
So you became a vampire & didn't know it? That's a classic. Visit the Boogre bar thats a story worth telling. I don't think it is ethical to kill Oakenmir. Tree surf to the area that the pyrimid is in & kill some evil treants. |
Judging from your post you are already in the Lost Sea area (if you have already retrieved Talrik’s treasure) without having completed the living tree seed quest. If that is so you have forfeit your chance to complete the magical aegis quest (they have been put in the wrong order by the programmers as stated by Sazerac in his post in the best tips thread on the guild quests).
If you have become a vampire only the toughen spell helps if you are about to die – and only as a temporary measure. To alleviate the bloodthirst problem you have to equip an item with the ”regeneration” property. The vampire ring has this, but that only works in the patched version of the game. Otherwise you will have to enchant/bless an item with regeneration and wear it. [ 01-30-2004, 08:05 AM: Message edited by: bsftcs ] |
ok,
1. I'm only level one pickpocket and I can't tree surf to go to where the other seeds are(could someone tell me the exact spot?) here's the URL for the picture that I made. Its the western gate, I can't get over the dark brown part of the gate. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-...ckdoorcopy.jpg 2. bsftcs, your right. I am over in the lost sea erea. and I do have to patched version of the game, wheres the vampire ring? 3.can I change into a vampire?...who can I bite and how? thanks in advance |
1. Upon leaving the port towards the Enchanted Sea, turn around, face the door back to town, look up, run and juuuuuuuuuump ;) . Then turn to your right and start going in the same direction (due west) over the trees. If you've already gotten to the Lost Sea, then just go back there and look for a broken cart on one of the little isles. Next to the entrance to that isle containing the broken cart is another entrance. Take that, fight the Hydra, and then roam the desert for the trees.
2. IIRC (if I remember correctly), it was back in Skull Castle. 3. You can't change anyone into a vampire. However, attalking someone else at close range will refill your health. |
1. Sazerac has detailed where exactly to tree surf in his post on the living tree seed quest on Page two of the best tips thread. Xignal has in details described HOW to tree surf here. If you are in the Lost Sea area (the place with Collasium) and you have not either tree surfed or vanished then you must have gone through Anephas's Shrine. In that case there is no need for you to tree surf since you ARE already IN the the Lost Sea area.
2. The ring is, as Mr. Lord has explained, in Skull Castle. When delivering the scroll of banishment to Adrianna she will offer you either the ring or a key. The key often does not work due to a bug, and even when it does work it is perfectly superfluous due to the fact that you can always pick the lock in the wizard's study (for which the key is meant) although it does require level 12 lockpicking. Therefore you should choose/have chosen the ring. 3. You cannot CHANGE into a vampire - you ARE a vampire. (And you cannot change anyone else for that matter). When you kill red-blooded monsters (monsters that bleed red gore when struck instead of yellow or something else), and the kill is not made with a ranged weapon or spell your hit points will be replenished. Examples of red-blooded monsters: human figures (like highland raiders, etc.) and normal animals (worgurs, crabs, etc.). Examples of non-redblooded monsters: undeads (wights, skeletons, ghouls, etc.). That is the only way you can heal when you are a vampire. No spells or potions will do the trick. As a vampire you have improved night vision and are extremely agile during the night time. During the day you get slower. There is no cure for vampirism. ok...so...
the vampire ring is in thingo's study room? I gave adrianna the scroll of banishing but i saved it when we were talking and when i loaded it again she said "ahh, you have returned" or wat ever then i killed them all. |
No. The ring is on Adrianna's body. However, it is one of those quest items that will only materialize once you have completed the quest - (in this case given the scroll to Adrianna and chosen the ring as your gift). Since it will only materialize once that is done it means that she will not drop the ring once she has been killed prematurely. The ring will simply not have materialized yet in that case.
You should perhaps consider going back to that saved game if it is not too much trouble. The ring is worth it when you are a vampire. You can always kill the vampires afterwards (in fact they will attack you anyway). Also: Unless you became a vampire back in Shurugeon Castle (at Lysandra's place) you can choose not to be a vampire at all by declining Adrianna's offer (the power of the Succubi). . . . Just to recapitulate the sequence of events is as follows: 1. You meet Adrianna when exploring the castle. She charges you with the task of retrieving the Scroll of Banishing. If you return to her without it the vampires will attack you. 2. You retrieve the scroll and bring it to her. 3. She thanks you and offers you the "power of the Succubi". I.e. the opportunity to become a vampire. 4. She then offers you a choice of either the key to the study or the ring. As explained above the key is next to useless. 5. Adrianna will then perform a ceremony in which she tries to use the scroll. It fails and the vampires start attacking her. At this point you are free to kill them all. I hope you find this useful. [ 01-31-2004, 08:03 AM: Message edited by: bsftcs ] |
well my last saved game before i gave adrianna the scroll would of been way back before I did shurugeon castle... if I started the game again(reset adventure) would that get rid of the bloodthirst off my player?
if I go back to that saved game I wont have all my spells that I have now. ...i'll just keep going on with the game and go kill some high xp'd monsters then reset it and do it again... thanks |
ANOTHER THING....
WHERE DO YOU KILL 'GINELENG, THE INSANE CENTAUR' -=THANKS=- |
Yes, going back to that saved game WOULD rid you of the bloodthirst.
Gineleng is in a grove on the northernmost rim of the map - right next to Oakenmir's grove. |
If I reset the adventure it'd get rid of the blood thirst wouldn't it?
thanks alot for all of you's that helped me out in this thread :D [ 01-31-2004, 09:10 PM: Message edited by: eternal mat ] |
Resetting the adventure will not get rid of vampirism. It's a trait, and it's part of your character's makeup. Only a hex editor can help you now... bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha....
Sorry. Too much diet vanilla pepsi... Gineleng... was he in the clearing just north of the Brimloch Roon gates, along the shores? Or was he the one in the water rooms in Skull Castle? It's been so long... *edit* Sorry. I should say I don't *BELIEVE* resetting adventures would clear vampirism. You may be able to prove me wrong, though... */edit* [ 01-31-2004, 10:24 PM: Message edited by: Bungleau ] |
hehe, slow down on the pepsi.
anyone know where 'the darkened one' is that your supposed to kill in the anephashrine?? [ 02-01-2004, 03:12 AM: Message edited by: eternal mat ] |
The Darkened One is in room L on this map. You can well expect him to be killed by a door, so you have to fire at least one spell at him - otherwise you will not get the experience points for killing him.
Resetting the adventure will NOT rid you of vampirism. And Bungleau, you are confusing things. Gineleng is in the grove to the north as I have detailed in my post above. The centaur just outside Brimloch Roon is Argothius. The two-headed monster in Skull Castle is called Goshin. [ 02-01-2004, 10:35 AM: Message edited by: bsftcs ] |
Wow...I don't know if you all "pwn" here, but I think bsftcs just did that to Bungleau ;)
|
We don't, SMIV. We correct and expand...and poke a bit of fun sometimes . We do not flame...nor do we allow such. We pride ourselve on being the most helpful and friendly board on the net...bar none!
I suspect Wyv may need to make an appearance... |
yea...i know that goshin's in skull castle but i may have already killed him...when you enter his room for the 1st time is there about 6 warewolf things come after you?.. then goshin walks in from the next corridor that right?(you jump off the see-saw bridge and go the left(southern)tunnel, then right(west)tunnel then u come to goshins room.) If thats right i've already killed him but the dude in the huild still says to go kill him...

For the record, I don't view what bsftcs did as anything more than clarifying what I was trying to explain, and pointing out rather gently that the two quest critters I remembered were not the one being asked about.
As has been pointed out, there's no slamming anyone or putting anyone down in here... at least not for long. Anyone who goes overboard is either brought on board or shown the door in one way or another. There's probably some ego thing in there as well... but I actually don't mind bsftcs correcting me. I posted what I thought (and made sure it sounded unsure), and waited for someone to correct it if needed. Around here, we're more into gaming computers than gaming people. :D |
I'm Sorry
This is my formal apology to everyone here on the W&W forums. I personally apologize to Wyvern and Lord for gettin upset over something so small...won't happen again I give you my word. I've been playing for the last couple of years online games like Tribes2, Counterstrike, BF1942, and such. I've acquired some rather nasty habits because of (yes i'm blaming them) certain peoples attitude. Now that I'm back to Single-Player games ;) I'll do my best to lose the old FPS lingo. IN ALL HONESTY THOUGH...I was kinda kidding about the whole Quote:
/me steps down off of his soapbox and goes to play some W&W ;) |
You're forgiven.... now go out there and kill something And come on over to the Boogre Bar when you're ready to celebrate it... your first drink is on the house.
I have seen other boards (such as Larian's Divine Divinity board) where one of the favorite games seemed to be "flame the newbie". That kind of atmosphere does not inspire people to stick around for long, or to come back again. I find the atmosphere here to be a lot more fun, even when we're trying to figure out if someone's being nasty (or not). *B* out... |
To Bungleau and the forum: Absolutely no offence was intended. And luckily, I see, none perceived. I admit I could have phrased it more elegantly.
To Eternal Mat: The reason why the guildkeeper will not acknowledge your having killed Goshin is because the killing of Goshin is not the aim of the quest. You have to deliver the shield that Goshin was carrying to the guildkeeper in order to complete the quest. If you have not picked it up it should still be lying in his pen. |
Slightly Off Topic side comment:
It never takes a new poster to our board long to figure out that we're friendly and helpful, that we don't engage in flamewars and no question is consider silly/stupid/redundant/etc. What we've created here is an atmosphere of friendly respect for all who join us. Because there are so many board out there on the web which are just the opposite, we tend to be protective. It does sometimes take a little while for us regular posters to get to know the newer ones and for them to get to know us. Occasionally we can seemingly get off to a rough start but I hope everyone noted and took pride in how quickly our most recent rough start has been resolved! Kudos to you all!! People really do want what we are offering: friendly help! Having found it here, they'll take good care of it just as we all do. End of side comment, back to the regularly schedule questions and answers. |
thats the first impression that I got when I first posted here, that this board was very friendly and helpful one of the other boards that I posted on before i found this one there was only like 2 other active people on tha board.
bsfcts I went there recently and it wans't(?) on the ground...I could of sold it in a shop or even dropped it when i was in brimloch but not in a shop, but i noticed when you drop something in a shop it goes into the part where you can buy items. (I may have to check all shops.) [ 02-02-2004, 05:01 PM: Message edited by: eternal mat ] |
In fact I have for some time suspected that there might be a bug at work concerning the shield. In these two topics (1, 2) former members of the board have been unsuccesful in their attempts to find it. Also there are a few other topics out there that indicate that a bug might be the problem although it is not quite clear in the posts.

oh well i'll have to search the game everywhere then...
i've killed both of the two headed things...the one at the other side of boogre prison and goshin in skull castle [ 02-02-2004, 05:50 PM: Message edited by: eternal mat ] |
bsftcs I add you on my msn, hope thats ok...
