Good morning. I finished the Serpent Temple last night (with alot of goodies). My priest spent two days out of armor so she could become a monk and was finally eligible so she went to the Bushi Dojo and joined the guild. First quest was to drop off a Dragon Arrow to a local samurai (Torin). When I checked her inventory after leaving town, no arrow. I think her inventory was full when the quest was assigned.

Is there a way to get this arrow? I tried going back to the Dojo but just got crap for not delivering the arrow yet.

I hate mantraps!

WillowIX 07-09-2002 06:49 AM

Well you could let one of your other charcters join the guild and take the quest. If you then are a level 5 warriors guild member change that character to ranger class. It´s an easy quest! You can then buy the fletchery trait which will allow you to make more arrows. You just put that dragonarrow in the missile slot, arm him/her with a bow and you´ll have plenty of dragonarrows to go around. :D If you can´t do this, post a message to Wyvern in the "Wyvern´s lost and unobtainable items" thread and she´ll get you a new arrow before you can say Gael Serran. :D

WillowIX 07-09-2002 06:50 AM

Oh and BTW, you have checked the other members of your party backpacks right? If you pick something up with a char and his/hers inventory is full the item will be placed in another inventory...

rodizi 07-09-2002 09:06 AM

I checked all the other packs first but couldn't find the arrow. Thanks for the advice. I know I'll be able to resolve it one way or another.

rodizi 07-09-2002 09:08 AM

By the way, where is "a big blue lake"? A'burg is just north of Lake Erie close to the southern most point of the country.

WillowIX 07-09-2002 09:54 AM

By a big blue lake is in a big city right by Lake Ontario Amherstburg? That´s down by the Windsor area right? So you´re probably only 15 miles away.. :D

rodizi 07-09-2002 11:52 AM

T.O.? I'm from T.O. originally. Moved away 13 years ago. A'burg's about 15 minutes south of Windsor.

Wyvern 07-09-2002 12:52 PM

Every year we make an annual pilgrimage to Stratford Ontario to see the plays! Normally we do this in the middle of the summer. This year we won't make it over until the fall (but we'll get to see Christopher Plummer in King Lear). Always a wonderful trip!

as far as the 'Dragon arrow' problem....I f any of your other characters can take the quest....Everyone will get credit, as long as the arrow is no longer in their inventory.... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...ons/icon12.gif ...My last game I got the quest for everyone and kept all but 1 arrow..(So my rangers could use their fletchery skill.)...I droped the others of at the Inn....Everyone got credit for the quest.

WillowIX 07-09-2002 06:15 PM

Packrat! This belongs in the Best Tip thread if you haven´t posted it there already... With the mule bug and everything this is a very handy tip!

tater 07-09-2002 09:10 PM

And if you want some real money, take one dragon arrow, only one, it's cheaper, and pile every blessing and enchanment you can on it. Then give it your ranger. I'm getting 58 grand an arrow for the things with all the enchanments on them and that was with a blessing skill of 6.

Packrat 07-09-2002 09:24 PM

Just Wait Tater...It gets even better!

If you have 'Fletchery', become a Zenmaster and gain Enlightenment, you can Raise your Bless Skill to 14....Then they sell for a 1 Mill.
( of couse by then you don't really need it, but it's still fun.)

This happens sometimes but if you drop an item in a town you can sometimes find it in the local armory. You can buy it there. It won't be cheap though.

Bungleau 07-10-2002 11:41 PM

And don't forget that you can simply buy the arrow back from Torin (or pick his pockets, if you're so inclined). After one of my parties completed the quest, they bought back all six arrows. Made for a nice start in fletchery...

rodizi 07-11-2002 12:12 PM

I checked the armory in case I'd accidentally sold it but no luck. I managed to level up one of my warriors to samurai so I have an arrow now. I'm working on levelling up a priest to monk too so that I can complete the quest but still have a spare arrow for when my ranger learns fletchery.

Where in Michigan? A'burg's very close to Detroit.

Loumistro 07-11-2002 12:21 PM

If you have one you can give it to him and then buy it back.

Bungleau 07-12-2002 10:53 PM

Rodizi,

You don't buy the arrow back from the armory... you buy it back from Torin after you give it to him! Right idea, wrong place.

And I'm truly in the western wilds, out in Grand Rapids about two hours from the edge of Detroit (and three from Windsor, depending on tunnel or bridge traffic).

ya but you can buy it back if you drop it in the town. That is what he was talking about.

kev 07-14-2002 08:47 AM

The fletchery thing worrks well I have 100 dragon arrows. My problem is that I cant give it to Torin, he wont take it. I have already completed this task with 3 other charactors but this time I cant give, use or sell it to Torin. Perhaps I should shoot it at him.

Packrat 07-14-2002 08:54 AM

Torins inventory is probably full...Try to Buy somethig from him, to make room for the arrow.

kev 07-17-2002 09:51 AM

I've tried buying everything Torin has to sell but he still wont take the dragon arrow. Since then I have revisited the Talriks hook quest with two other charactors, but I have encountered the same problem. Do you think it is because I have an outstanding quest at the same guild in another town. If so is there any way to get out of doing a quest once you have agreed to it.

No - shouldn't have anything to do with any other outstanding quests from the other town. Is the character with the quest the one trying to give the arrow or the hook? Are you using GIVE and not "use"?

Hope we can get this figured out soon, kev!

Wyv

kev 07-17-2002 11:19 AM

Yeah Wyvern, I've tried to give it, use it & sell it but he just doesn't want it. I can even sell him the other type of arrow & he'll buy but the quest requires the dragon arrow which he wont.

Loumistro 07-17-2002 04:36 PM

You do know you don't sell the arrow to him you just give it to him. And did you bless the arrow or enchant it. he won't except it if you did do that.

kev 07-17-2002 09:39 PM

After I bought everything in Torins inventory I may well have tried to give him an enchanted arrow. I will try to buy an unenchanted one in Ishad na. I will try the same thing with Talriks hook.

kev 07-18-2002 03:41 AM

Thanyou thankyou thankyou, I bought another dragon arrow that wasn't enchanted & it worked. The same with Talriks hooks. Some people are real picky, try to give them something better than what they wanted & it's just not good enough, theres just no pleasing some people. I'll be more careful with what I enchant from now on.

WillowIX 07-18-2002 05:05 AM

Congrats!! But I don´t think they´re picky. If they start to except arrows that are better they would probably accept arrows that are worse. There´s got to be some meaning with the quest lol. :D Like collecting those serpent coins for the thieves guild, I´m SURE loooooooots of travellers buy those LOL!

kev 07-18-2002 09:23 AM

How did you know I was collecting serpins. I've just been back to valaeia & ishad n'ha to complete some quests. Hopefully I dont have to back into the serpents temple again. My last quest is for the idol of aku. Correct me if im wrong but I think I will have to go back into the Boogres cave tomorrow. Shouldn't all good canadians be at work this time of day.

rodizi 07-18-2002 11:29 AM

"Good" Canadians don't play W&W. Not enough peacekeeping and political bickering.

WillowIX 07-18-2002 11:33 AM

Yes all GOOD canadians lol. But then I´m enjoying my vacation :D . Too bad about all the snow we´ve got otherwise I´d be able to work on my tan. And yes I´m afraid you got to go back to the boogre caves. And if you want more people to do the serpent coins guild quest you do have to return to the serpent temple. But all you have to do is run around with no meaning killing priests for their coins. Not all that hard :D

ps. What was this thread all about again? lol!

ROFLMAO! ´But then you can view it as therapy. It gets rid of all those pesky aggressions locked up inside. You don´t see me cutting people in real life.. Eeehmm yes you do actually LOL! :D

Yes you do have to go back. But it is going to be very easy. The idol is the idol that changed you back in your original races. just touch it and leave.

I don't know why you have to go to it agian you have already seen this idol and could tell him what it does and why it needs to stay there.

Oh yeah and congrats on completing those to quests. They get very irratating. I had the same problem with Talrik's Hook. I Blessed it and used it as a weapon for a while.

kev 07-18-2002 12:28 PM

WillowIX, I just realised that you were joking about the snow. I don't think even Canada has snow in the middle of your summer. It took a while for the cogs to turn this time of night, 12 hours difference. I think this thread was something about a dragon arrow but my memory is not that good.

WillowIX 07-18-2002 01:17 PM

LOL Kev! Blame the sun lol.

rodizi 07-18-2002 02:44 PM

Maybe you haven't got snow but my pool froze over last night! Had to use a hair dryer to thaw it out for my kids! Krikey!

WillowIX 07-18-2002 04:40 PM

Lol Rodizi! And a blizzard is expected at the beginning of next week.. Just heard about that. Talk about weather changes LOL!

kev 07-19-2002 09:50 AM

For those Canadians that are too busy playing W&W to look out the window you are due for a late shower this afternoon. Rodizi will have 28c & WillowIX will have 25c.

rodizi 07-19-2002 11:31 AM

The showers are welcome. We've been dry, dry, dry. And a break from the 30+C temperatures for a day or too will be good too.

What city do you live in Kev so I can check out your local forecasts?
