There are 62 traits in this game and I've managed one or another of my characters to get 54 of these. Out of curiousity, does anyone know how to get the remaining eight:

1. Firebrand (25% resistance to sun spells)
2. Guardian Ward (reduce damage from weapons by 25%)
3. Heroic Legacy (extra attribute point when levelling up)
4. Mercury's Heel (character moves 20% faster)
5. Mindspeak (25% resistance to being silenced)
6. Regeneration (heal at double rate and healing spells doubled)
7. Soul Bane (reflect damage on undeads)
8. Spellfire (all spell effects extra 20%)

Thanks...

I have never seen a post here remain unanswered for over twelve hours!
Could it be that no one knows?!
No one???

Y'know, Young One, THAT'S a good question! I looked through the "Tome", and most traits have no indication how they are acquired! There is some revelation in the walkthrough for, at least, SOME of the traits that aren't explained in the canon of traits toward the beginning of the "Tome". Can you clue us all in on how you got the one's you DO have? I'm sure most everyone will find it interesting. I know I will. Sorry I can't help out with your current dilemma.

I've looked through all my info regarding W&W and found nothing about possibilities of getting these traits. I've looked then in BEST TIPS thread - there is a list of traits and hints saying how to obtain them there, but nothing again about abovementioned traits...
Mystery, indeed.

Dr Pick: The best tips section 3 has a traits table and lists the 62 traits as well as how to get them - nearly all of the information is spot on. Also if you use the charcter editor, you can see the traits as listed.

However, I have played the game several times but cannot track down the remaining eight traits so I wonder if they are achievable at all, or if these are leftover remnants of the game before the final changes..

Ahhhh That could be a possibility. Would be a shame if it were true!
Well, if Wyvern, Xignal or Sazerac don't know, I would bet they would be (unnatainable leftovers) http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

Thanks, Young One. I saw it when looking for the "Jinni in the Lamp" trick which I took the liberty to add to Best Tips. I had forgotten that that table was there.*blush* http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I just thought I would bump this topic up so that we might all see what happened the last time anyone ventured to find the missing traits. Still, we should not be discouraged...

the_young_one 03-13-2003 03:28 PM

I'm amazed someone managed to still see my original post. Well, it has been well over a year and I have still not seen any of these traits in the game lol..

bsftcs 03-13-2003 06:02 PM

We are a small but determined group. If the traits are out there we shall find them... eventually... I hope...

LiOnHe@rT 03-14-2003 09:10 AM

hey wait a minute, i thought u get soul bane after being a valkyrie?! not much a help but at least it clears 1 from the list......

Radek 03-14-2003 09:16 AM

No. The Valkyrie trait is the Gravebind trait. I have played a valkyrie to a level 25 at guild levels 6 (all guilds) to see, whether there are some traits available especially for this role but I have found nothing. Apparently, the only advantage of a valkyrie is the possibility to use the Lance of the Lady, i.e., no advantage at all.

bsftcs 03-14-2003 09:55 AM

So far as I have understood from Sazerac's traits table a valkyrie is also eligible for the divine aura trait at level 18?

Radek 03-14-2003 11:42 AM

Not in my game :(

bsftcs 03-14-2003 04:42 PM

THAT is peculiar. Perhaps we had better go through Sazerac's traits table thoroughly to see if there are other discrepancies.

LiOnHe@rT 03-15-2003 10:37 AM

wow, sazarec has a traits table?! cool, i should go check it out, any idea where i can find it?
the Firebrand trait souns as if it comes from an item, but this is juz a SUPERSTITION so dun take me seriously!

bsftcs 03-16-2003 10:07 AM

Sazerac's traits table is on page 3 of the "Best Tips" topic in the top of this forum.

bsftcs 10-18-2003 01:52 PM

Bumping this up in connection with the renewed hunt for the missing traits.

1) My valkyrie waseligible for the divine aura trait at level 18, Radek.

2) Having absolutely no clue as to how to do serious hacking I was wondering if there is any way to get into the "texts" of the game and see if the name of the missing traits appear at all anywhere?

3) I really appreciate your interest in this hunt, Moiraine Sedai.

CerebroDragon 10-19-2003 05:13 AM

Hey, Bsftcs, Moiraine and other intrepid W&W Explorerers...

Just thought I'd acknowledge your vigour and enthusiasm in solving the missing trait mystery. ALthough my party is still very new-ish and I'm not quite the veteran player as many others on this forum, I still hereby pledge to try all kinds of alchemical experiments and other bizarre things in the attempt to find a missing trait!

So far, my party has the following in its adventuring infancy:

Vastlaar, Dwarven Samurai: War Cry, Giant Strike, Ancestral Guide, Double Strike and Blacksmith

Bavvok, Gourke Barbarian: Giant Strike, Fury and Bloodscent

Slithe, Ratling Rogue: Gold Digger

Divina, Human Priest: Ancient Lore, Arcane Void, Natural Leader

Sapling, Pixie Priest: Dodge, Healer, Arcane Void.

Vigamorits, Elven Wizard: Ancient Lore, Quick Learner, Evil Eye....

That's it for now! Interesting to see the opportunities to get traits as they arise...

Noble Regards,
Cerebrodragon

Welcome on board. *Hands CerebroDragon his official trait hunting license*. So far the authoritative guide on the subject has been provided by Sazerac on Page three of our Best Tips thread. It is not complete, though. There is no reference of the Iron Lung trait being available by invoking the ring of Neptune, for example. Still it is an impressive work.
