Is it Coincedence or is it Memorex?
|
Well color me confused, what is a "gungans"??
Wyv |
I must admit, I'm baffled too by the term! I thought they looked like big walking Kermits, myself... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

The Gungans are a race of species in the movie Star Wars: Phantom Menace.

Okay - haven't seen it which explains my confusion. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
Wyv (explains it for this thread, at least!) |
ROFL...forgot about them! I was thinking the toads actually sounded like Jar-Jar http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/puke.gif heheh

ROFLMAO! Yes, indeedy. Toads=Gungans... don't know whether the game's creators intended it or not, but the resemblence is certainly there. As an avid SW fan since 1977 I can say I've seen all four pics so far in excess of a hundred times all around (all of them, not just one). Ukabu, Mekawa, etc. all sound a whole lot like the Gungan tongue (no pun intended). Hehehehe.... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

They probably did borrow a little bit from that, Belle! There's references in fantasy literature on a Queen of the Serpents named Xydussia (that's so close, it's practically a rip-off). Not to mention a lot of allusions in the Serpent Temple to "Lair of the White Worm" (Bram Stoker novel, Ken Russell flick).
Interesting, very interesting! -Sazerac |
Misa understand now http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Thought we were all geeky enough to know about Gungans ;] Those of you who have not seen SWhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/tongue.gifhantom Menace should see it now, just for the correlation ;]
|
http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...l_laughter.gif Well, I certainly am glad Wyvern asked! Cleared up the whole thing. "What we have here is a reason to communicate!" http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

HEY! The board turned my colon (http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif P into a smiley, like http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif
|
Stop it, Board Software!
|
RealBinky: To keep it from doing that, you can either put a space character between the colon and the object, or click the "Turn off smilies" box at the bottom of the posting window.
And yes, it is annoying to have that happen to you! I've ground my teeth over it before many a time. -Sazerac |
