I must say, the music in this game is great, but it does overshadow the voices (actually, it's more likely due to my hearing loss) so I had to adjust the audio. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/hihi.gif

That said, It's slow getting started. It took me a while to figure out how to save. Got that in the outside maps, but can you save in the towns? After I heal and get supplies, I want to save before heading out, and so far I've been stepping outside, and then doing it. oh well.

I got the quest from the Town Hall, then on my way to the graveyard, I fought a bandit. Went back and healed, then got waylaid by some rat-looking things, and some bats. THEN I LEVELED UP !?!? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/noncgi/smiles/eek.gif Is that it? I got lost on my way to the graveyard, and meet some theives of the Hidden Circle. He gives me some lockpicks, and as I'm leaving , the game tells me I hear a battle going on. I go back, kill the three thieves, and LEVEL UP AGAIN ?!?!? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/noncgi/smiles/eek.gif Now, I'm at level 3 and I haven't done anything but get lost and kill some stuff... And I'm still confused with the controls, but it is getting easier.

Another thing, and it may just be me... Does the ground slope sideways??? It seems that I'm leaning to my left or right all the time, as I'm walking around. I tell myself that I'm on a hillside.

Never heard of the "slanting" thing, unless you're in "strafe" mode...are you using keyboard rather than mouse? To walk where you want to, hold down the Right mouse button and "point" the direction.

You're playing a solo character, RD. You're going to level up VERY quickly doing that, for the game was designed to be played among 6 characters, with appropriate reward system.

Glad you're having fun! Get to the graveyard now and get some skulls!

I returned with five skulls, and got the cash and experience. Then I went back to where the Hiden Circle guys were, and found a treasure chest behind another piece of wall. I got poisoned, and ran back to the village to get healed (the Automap works grea. Went to Town Hall, and he said he would still give me more bounty for more skulls. Then he asked me to kill a troll (forgot his name) near Nymph Lake.

Joined the Warrior Guild, so now I need to go find a guy who stole the money box. (Didn't get any clues for that, so I'm gonna wander. I figure the beginning should be relatively easy, so I'll stick near the village.) Then, I'll train for a Ranger.

Mon the Sculz is out the other gate, towards Nymph Lake. He looks like a regular Highland Rogue with some beefed-up HP and stats.

Cool Dawg! Happy to hear you are cruising right along. Don't know why you are leaning, unless you are on a hillside? Both of those guys you are looking for can come to the graveyard side of the gate. How do I know this? Well because the troll guy came to that side and attacked me and the thief guy came to that side and attacked my daughter (I saw him when I was at her house visiting). So even though they are supposed to be out by Nymph Lake, they will come across to the other side, so be wary.

No, you can't save while in town. So you must remember to save before and after you go to towns, preferrably in a new save slot, just in case something happens that you weren't ready for or if you change your mind about something you did. Remember, save, save, save.

I hope this doesn't "spoil" anything, but that tool kit you got from the band of thieves is kinda special, you might want to hang on to it.

The map is an amazing tool to use when you are stuck or wondering where you've been or what direction to head!

The ground slanted in my game in places (esp the areas around Gorthius) I thought it was being in a hilly area.

Killed Mon the Sculz, and the troll guy... Now I've got to go get a raptor egg for the Ranger quest. (I first thought it was a dinosaur, then I remembered the "old" usage of raptor was a hunting bird, so i guess I'm looking for an eage, hawk, or falcon..?)

Right now, I'm in the crypt, trying to get the crystal that's behind a grate underwater. I "jammed the lock" on a door in the crypt, so I guess I'm locking myself out of some adventures, but I figure that the writers won't let that happen to crucial areas, so no worries ! (At least, we didn't when I was in the industry)

I think the slanting thing is just over uneven terrain....

O, and I got a horse !!! *khool* (it took FOREVER to figure out how to get off the thing...)

Well, I'm just grabbing a soda, gotta get back to the crystal...

The crystal was funny... *hold breath* try everything... I was jsut trying to use anything, and she came !! too cool...

Oh yeah, I jammed the lock by bashing it. (I'm a warrior, in training for a ranger, so I can't pick-locks, can I???) I tried bashing it again, but it just kept reminding me that I had jammed it...

Right now, I'm (or I WAS) trying to "use" the crystal to go somewhere. There's only one place I can see using it, but need to figure it out...

Don't worry about that, if they don't like it, they don't have to read it. As far as I'm concerned, it's quite refreshing to see one with lots of exp going through the game for a first time.

Using the old methods, I faced the wall, and started walking around the wall, so not to miss anything. Found the receptacle. *khool* nice elevator...

Busted open the chest, gathered treasure. Immediately attacked the mummy looking guy. Short fight. got the locket. How, I headed back down to cure myself at the foutain (treasure chest had a poison trap), and search for something else to do here...

Mammawlin, I don't think his character can use the lockpicks...only rogues, ninjas, and assassins(?) can. Not sure on Assassins...I am sure on Rogues and Ninjas.

my old Castle Wolfenstein, DOOM, and Quake reflexes are coming back... Did the old, "jump on elevator to to see if there are hidden levels" and there is !!!
Didn't move fast enough, so I got kilt.... (crsuhing damage 6, crushing damage 6, crushing...) serves me right for getting up to go get some milk...

Oh, yeah, I just noticed that there is writing on the locket, so i started checking everythign, but nope, it's the only one. Pretty self-explanatory, I'll just say the words to the first statue I find...

I changed my solo fighter to barbarian asap, because in all aspects it's superior to a fighter, and the quest is very easy, esp. for a soloist.
Then you can pick locks, disarm traps etc. Enough time to change to ranger after that. (That was my third role, to get cure poison and cure (disease).)
Most annoying problem for a solo fighter: no light spells until after reaching the second town. So turn up the gamma for those dark spots!
