I was just riding my horse across the green fields minding my own buisness, when suddenly this dragon comes swooping down trying to light us on fire! I literally screamed "Eeeeeeeee!" and rode like hell. I didn't know there were dragons roaming about. My party is still really new and weak... but one day I'm going to slay that dragon! I even killed some guy cause he said he was going to kill the dragon and I didn't want him to beat me to it.

Oh, NO!!! LOL!!
That guy's a quest NPC...you may want to reload so you can do some quests with him! Don't kill the dragon just yet...he's VERY necessary. That's all I'm going to say so as not to spoil anything...just remember Gareth's dream at the beginning of the game. -Sazerac |

(OTOH you can kill him after he's given you the most important item in the game >g<.) 2- Killing this guy has spoilt your chance of solving the first Dojo guild quest. If you don't solve the first one, you won't get the second one, missing the chance of training better skills. I sincerely hope you have a save from before you killed Torin. Traute |
Of course there are Dragons!!!!!
(and remember - be kind! Erathsmedor is a relative of mine!) http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif Wyv |
I didn't save it before I whacked Torin! And my rogue just became a ninja!
I am in deep poodoo! Am I going to have to restart the whole game??? ------------------ You can not save me. You can't even save yourself... |
Ah well, Live and learn... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
I take it, from reading the other thread, you're going to start over? -Sazerac |
did you check with this forum's thread: BEST TIPS?
always save, save, save your game before your mistakes in different slots! ------------------ http://hclark50.tripod.com/Gothic_Flame_Stand.gif http://hclark50.tripod.com/title.gif http://hclark50.tripod.com/Gothic_Flame_Stand.gif |
LOL Night Blade, don't kill the dragon! Here is hoping you will go back and reset the game to the beginning if you can't go back to a save before you killed Torin. In any case, there are many outcomes in this game, and I am sure you can still complete the game without Torin and the Doshi quest, etc. So if you just want to continue, please do; but let us know how you are doing, would you please!?

That dragon traumatized me... so he is going to get what's coming to him. But not untill he has outlived his usefulness. (Plus my characters are by NO MEANS ready to go head to head with a dragon!)
I realized I could have continued... but my ninja (and future assassin) is my favorite character and I don't want his options limited. I hadn't gotten that far so no biggie restarting. I restarted with the same characters so I kept all their stats. This time around my party has a much needed priest! I had previously left an empty spot in my party...I'm so used to RPGs where people join your party... well no vacancies this time around. All is well here...I'm journeying onward! --------------------- You're on thin ice... and I'll be under it when it breaks |
Cool Night Blade! Happy to hear you've made your decision. I know how you feel about the Assassin, I felt the same about mine - hated to give up that cool gear too when she became a Ninja - but got more cool gear for her then! Good luck and thanks for the update - stay close!

Actually, I dare you to kill that dragon BEFORE you enter the dragon spire... If you can do this, there's no doubt that you'll be one of the most dangerous and successful W&W player EVER http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif
Sorry Wyv, nothing personnal http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif [This message has been edited by Ryanamur (edited 05-14-2001).] |
LOL Ryanamur! If someone takes you up on this, I'll have yet another GS Examiner to go on this one. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Sorry to dissapoint you, but Erathsmador is unkillable until after you meet him in the Dragon spire. I took my 133 level Assassin, turned him into a Zen Master and started over. He was up to level 23 when he met Erathsmador flying around and he decided that, despite being flame-proof, he didn't like geting flamed all the time. So he took some pot shots.
The big dissapointment is that a dragon arrow is worthless on Erathsmador. Even one that has been blessed up to the max. Poor Torin. I wonder what will happen when he shoots the dragon and finds out that the dragon arrow is over-rated and doen't kill dragons. Spells don't work on him either, not even Frost Breath or Ice Storm. I didn't expect Sun spells to work on him, but I tried anyway. I did hope that moon spells with frost or ice would have at least put out his fire. No Dice on either count. Even Blood Bath was useless. My Tomonari Blade, blessed up nicely, was deflected every time I actually got a hit. (Have you tried swinging a blade at a dragon while running or galloping after him on a horse? He sometimes changes directions quite quickly. I am very glad that my characters don't get hurt while galloping full blast into a tree. I might have to call one of them George of the Jungle.) It is too bad because Elrog (my solo character) is one guy that could have done it. Right now he is a mule for my other party, but I may bring him out just to give him another crack. One would think that a 192 level Zen Master should be able to wipe out a measly little dragon, doncha think? He took out the hydra without any help from spells, so the dragon can't be too much worse. Knarfling ------------------ Only two of my personalites have delusions, but one of them is paranoid and the other is out to get him. |
Well, I did kill a couple of Red Dragons when I set the spawn rate to often around the Isle of Sands...actually I want to kill more Crabs but wow to my surprise, dragons appear for me to kill and earn experience (abt 11,000 over exp for each char...i have 6 in my party... for 1 dragon). A bit patheic these dragons but pretty fun too.
Juz sharing what i have experience.... |

BTW: My lvl 76 assassin wiped him in one single blow... You got to love it when you read: "Erathsmador was slain" |
You're a real meanie, sending a 76th level assassin after a poor, nearsighted dragon. --Mal |
Who you calling a meany... It was my destiny. I don't care what Grunaxe, my father said, he was possessed by an ugly boogre and his mind was not right when he died. That dragon, helped by that blinded Ephaestus, helped the boogres kill my father and deserved to died.
I brought honnor to the Dojo and my familly (including my eldest brother Torin) by killing that not so great Ereatsmador. It was a quick and painless death. Unlike that of my father. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif P.S. I was an assassin and I got drunk that day... That Gael Seran ale can drive you to do pretty stupid things. It was worth it though. For some unknown reasons I came out of there at lvl 103 !!!!!!!!!!! ROFL Ryanamur!
Now THAT is the best rationalization I've heard all year long! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/noncgi/smiles/485.gif -Sazerac |
And we're still early in the year...
I still would of loved to see a newbie go after Ereathmador with Icestorm or something to down him in the midddle of the prairies http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif ... maybe I'm a meanie after all http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Too bad the Town hall doesn't give you that quest (which could never be completed) and make Ereathmador invincible http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif |
Only trouble is...if you kill him in the Shire, you'd never get the Mavin! That's probably why they made him nigh-well invincible out there.

Saz:
You have a town quest or thief guild quest (quest #4) to kill the great dragon because he roams the country side and kills innocent travellers. On the other hand, you have a Magic Guild quest to protect the great dragon. If you hit the dragon, he fries you and eats you alive... meat pogo stick kinda thing. Good way to ensure that characters don't deviate from their meaningless oath. You learn your lesson: don't bother the GREAT dragon without first calling the magic word and two, don't attack the GREAT dragon 'cause he is GREAT http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif I agree with Wyvern on this, oath police should have been in effect in this game. BTW: they should have included an animated movie with the dragon frying you and eating you when you died in the plains http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif [This message has been edited by Ryanamur (edited 05-14-2001).] |
