Two things: One I go to the caves and talk to the Oracles and to the left there is a passage that seems to be a dead end is that the way to Ishad Na and the serpeant lair?? If so how do i get through there? Second when I go to the toad village and talk to ekbu he tells me im not the ukabu and tries to kill me. I didnt kill him but he followed me back to the dock where mehkabu is ?? What did I do wrong?

When you talk to the Oracles, make sure it's your character that's wearing the Signet of the Mavin. Say "Destiny" to them and they'll unlock the doorway. It's best to talk to them about everything anyway, as they have a lot of good information about what's coming up.

Did you talk to Mekdawa first and have him tell you about "Ukabu"? If not, that's why Ekbu's going mental on you. If you did, it could be you went too far in the hut. Reload and try talking to Ekbu from just outside the hut, or at the threshhold.

Talk to the Oracles some more. I think the key word is "Destiny" to get them to open the passage way west!

You have given the potion to Mekdawa?

Ye gods and firestones, we did it again, Wyvern!! LOL!!

1) Ensure you're wearing the Signet Ring from the Crypt and then use the word "Destiny" when speaking to the Oracles

2) To become recognized as "Ukabu" you need to speak with Mekdawa, the toad roaming the eastern shores of Nymph Lake.

so where exactly do you get the Signet of the Mavin, cause i did the crypt twice and i cant find it. also did toad.

if you could help i would appreciate it

matty 03-07-2001 12:01 AM

I believe you get the signet from the crypt under the bones of nivius in the tomb directly behind the rat pie eater.

johnj 03-07-2001 12:04 AM

i see it now, i spent so long looking for this too

Great. I think this is one of the bad things about the game, lighting
well no excuses because i still like the game and i am still playing it

Moni 03-07-2001 12:38 AM

For the lighting problem, you can adjust the brightness on your monitor or install the patch which is supposed to correct it. The patch deprives you of some "bonuses" with getting exp over and over again for a quest or two though. Your choice.

thats a tough one, seeing the game with less exp or wandering around the areas for hours doing nothing... hard choice, any suggestions?

Elara 03-07-2001 10:05 AM

I get best lighting using the following graphic options (though it'll depend on your graphic card and it's memory)..

Render quality - medium
Driver - Software driver
Resolution - high
Gamma - 3/4 to Max
Mip maps - on
Mip detail - high
View distance - high
Lighting quality - *LOW* (High gets me almost total darkness! This may
be the only setting you'd need to fool with.)
Polygon and Texture details - high

Thank you, Elara! This may solve some of the problems for those with lighting difficulties. Just one question, though...are you playing with the patch or without it? It may make a difference.

Hi Saz,

Am playing without the patch.. never had any trouble with the game so didn't see the need for it. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif

Oh yeah, and don't forget the ever useful "Illuminate" spell which works great outdoors too!
