Okay, due to my unavoidable inability to keep up with the last quiz, I will change the rules a bit. I will start off with one question, and whoever answers it correctly will get to ask the next question, then whoever gets that one right asks the next, ad nauseum. Questions can range from all chapters, about dialogue options, items, quests, classes, etc. Good luck!

I'll start this off easy:

What is the number of magic resistance for a drow?

Jerry_Seinfeld 02-13-2005 04:37 PM

alright do I post the answer here or do I pm them to you? well I pm'd it to you anyways.

Bozos of Bones 02-13-2005 04:46 PM

I won't hassle with posting you an answer, as I'm sure Jerry has it right... eagerly expecting Jerry's question then :D

Marty4 02-13-2005 05:01 PM

I forgot to say you can just answer it here, and the questioner will say yay or nay. In this case, Jerry got it right, it is 11 plus the drow's level. Jerry, your up!

Serak Moonblade 02-14-2005 07:09 AM

cool idea! a chain quiz!!

hurry up jerry!!!

Jerry_Seinfeld 02-15-2005 05:48 PM

Ack, sorry guys, didnt know I had a thread waiting on my next post here. Ive had internet problems for the last 3 or 4 days and I just got it fixed, but without further ado, here is my question.

According to the story of the greatsword "the wandering sky" who originally wielded the blade?

Bozos of Bones 02-16-2005 08:10 AM

Hmm... this barbarian dude found his family was gone, and then went to get them back, and somehow got into the events of IWD1, and such... At the end he said something like "My wonderings are done, let the skies take them now!".

Marty4 02-16-2005 02:53 PM

Well, that's right, but you didn't say his name. I'm letting a few others get questions in before I answer one ;)

Marty4 02-16-2005 06:43 PM

Unless there are no right answers by tomorow... I've got a few good ones

Marty4 02-17-2005 06:54 PM

Bollocks, its Hriedgar. Right, Jerry?

Jerry_Seinfeld 02-18-2005 04:31 PM

Correct marty, next question is yours.

Marty4 02-18-2005 06:29 PM

Okay... this one requires some IWD1 knowledge.

There are (at least) three characters who made an appearence in IWD1 who also are in IWD2. Name them, and give a brief description of their roles in both games.

I am pretty sure that there are only 3, but any 3 will do if there are others.

ZFR 02-18-2005 06:44 PM

Saablic Tan... in IWD1 Malavon's apprentice and converted by him to umber hulk; in IWD 2 alligned himself with LoC (after getting back his original form), you get to kill him.

Malavon Despana... in IWD1 one of Belhifet's lietenants; in IWD 2 you learn that was actually a simulacrum, and the real one asks you to help with drider infestation in underdark.

Mother Eugenia... in IWD1 a priestess of Ilmater captured and lead to Dragons Eye where she tended the others; in IWD2 the foster mother of I&M, you meet her ghost in Kuldahar pass.

So do I get the next question?

EDIT:
and of course there is Oswald Fiddlebender (IWD1: potion salesman in Kuldahar IWD2: helps you throughout the game), Colhan (sp?) the Smithy (IWD1: Smith of Kuldahar, IWD2: Smith of Kuldahar), Sheemish (IWD1: Smith's son rescued from DE, IWD2: Smiths son in Kuldahar Tower), Orrick the Grey (IWD1: Kuldahar's Wizard in tower, IWD2: transfered to SH), The miller's son (forgot the name) (in IWD1: rescued from mill after orcs killed family, IWD2: helps in Kuldahar's defenses), Phaere (IWD1: Malavon's sister rescued from her 'brother', IWD2: transfomed to a drider, rescued by you).

That's a total of 9 I got... any more? cant think of any ATM.

EDIT 2:
Which 3 were yours Marty? You shouldve gotten at least Oswald, the smith, his son and Orrick  (no offense meant)

Meh, I'm having a woozy day today, and wasn't thinking straight. Your right, anyway.

Oh, but you didn't mention two of the ones that I was looking for: Nate, and Jermsy (Nathaniel greets you and directs you to the archdruid, and you save Jermsy from goblins.

Balintherlas 02-18-2005 11:00 PM

Hey marty, are those war blades that barbarians wieldin?

I mentioned jermsy. He's the miller's son. Just forgot his name

Anyways... my question:

In the area outside Ice temple (i.e the ice labyrinth, the area where you fight Sherincal), there is one character who gives you extra dialogue options if you talk with a certain race/class. Who is the character and what race/class must you be?

Bozos of Bones 02-19-2005 07:34 AM

An Aasimar Paladin(of Helm I think) has extra dialogue with the Undead Lord that's guarding the pass right behind the Queen Remorhaz.

Correct!!! Paladins (and clerics I think) of helm get the extra dialogue. Race's unimportant.

Your question.

Bozos of Bones 02-19-2005 09:06 AM

OKie now, let's see...
What is the name of the former wielder of Cera Sumat? How old was he when he died? For bonus points, name as much as the Six members as you can.

I dunno, its from the forum graphics page.

@BoB-
It's been a while, but I'll give this a shot. Kholsa (sp?) wielded the sword, and died at the ripe old age of 108. Two of the lost followers were Hagren Death Head (sp?) and Someone-who-was-lost (?)

Bozos of Bones 02-19-2005 04:44 PM

Close enough
Take it away, Marty!

Marty4 02-20-2005 10:08 AM

Okay...

What is the retorical question that Sherincal asks after you have finished questioning her and start the fight (after you give the "so be it!" response)

ZFR 02-20-2005 10:49 AM

Can remember the exact wordiness but it's something like:

"What else can happen when an unstoppable force collides with an immovable object?"

Marty4 02-20-2005 10:58 AM

IIRC it was unmovable, but close enough. You're up!

ZFR 02-20-2005 01:05 PM

I apologize but this requires some BG1 knowledge:

What monsters appear in both BG1 (TotSC included) and IWD2?

NOTES:
_BG1+Totsc and not BG2.
_Monsters which can only appear from summoning spells do not count.
_Monster "sub-classes" (like gnoll elite, gnoll slasher, gnoll berserker) do not count as separate monsters (all are gnolls).
_No need to mention any sub-classes just give the monster name.

One example is spiders, which include huge spiders, giant spiders, phase spiders, sword spiders, wraith spiders and whatnot.

Give me... 10 more.

HINT:(remeber TotSC ;) )

Marty4 02-20-2005 08:19 PM

Ouch. Get a backup question ready in case no one can answer that ;)

Balintherlas 02-20-2005 10:34 PM

Hmm let me giv it a try

goblins of course
orges
trolls
skeletons
orcs, r they in bg?
wolves
bears
slimes
kobolds i think ive seen those in id2
minotaurs
just in case im gonna say humans, elves, and dwarfs too.

ZFR 02-21-2005 04:58 AM

Sorry... not completely right

Five correct so far...

I'll give more hints then for 3 more:
_Think TotSC (new area) and battle squares.
_Cleric has special ability for those.
_One racial enemy in BG2.

Balintherlas 02-21-2005 11:27 PM

wyverns, shades?, demon knights?, zombies, giants
i dunno

Only wyverns and zombies are right... bringing the total to 7.

Well I guess that's close enough and I'll accept it.

The others are:
werewolves
golems
dopplegangers
ghouls
any more?

that's 11 (in my original 10 I havent thought of slimes).

The question is yours Balintherlas.

Balintherlas 02-23-2005 08:44 PM

Alright, here we go. Which gods are featured in statues in the severed hand?

Marty4 02-24-2005 06:05 AM

dang, I can only remember the two obvious ones :( Good one!

Bozos of Bones 02-24-2005 06:54 AM

Corellon, Sune, Ilmater, Iyachtu and Silvanus are the statues of deities in the Cleric's Tower level 1.

Bloody hell ;) How do remember that stuff?

Bozos of Bones 02-24-2005 01:20 PM

Well Corellon has to be there, he's the head of the elven pantheon, Silvanus I remember because one of the items from the Hand mentions him, and I also remember something about him in IWD1. Iyachtu and Ilmater have to be there for story reasons, and Sune I remembered because elves like beauty, and Sune is for me one of the more interesting(read: favored) deities.

ZFR 02-24-2005 01:24 PM

Is it not Selune and not Sune? I keep getting those two mixed up.

[ 02-24-2005, 03:37 PM: Message edited by: ZFR ]

Balintherlas 02-24-2005 09:30 PM

well yea its right, if u kno ur right jus go ahead a add a post.

Balintherlas 02-24-2005 09:32 PM

Its sune, thats the 1 that really stood out

Luvian 02-24-2005 10:52 PM

Sune is the human goddess of beauty and love, if I remember right from my pen and paper days.

Dragonshadow 02-28-2005 10:43 AM

She is indeed.
