Is it just my game or do others have this problem as well?
MY game seem to have long since stopped registering my "most powerful foe vanquished" stat. My characters "most..... " list is as follows: Ice golem, sherincal, ....etc Since those kills, i have popped the "guardian", a particular "dreadmaster of Bane", an improved invisible "prisoner", "Rakasha M$#^&", not to mention various deadly undead. The only recent kill i noticed was an "iron golem". Is that stat based upon EXP earned? |
Mabye Exp... I think it has to do with How powerful your characer is compared to what they slay. A level 30 Barbarian slaying Shrenical might not be as impressive to the game as a level 2 paladin killing a Worg Rider... I think there is a formula that involes a division sign...

Yeah, "most powerful vanquished" is relative to your level at the moment you kill something. So after awhile, it could be a long time before that changes. Annoying, huh?

My Barbarian's most powerfull vanquished ennemy has long been the "deadly and infamous" support beam...
|
LMAO Luvian! And I thought the Guardian was challenging
No but seriously, I think there could be a bug with some versions, at my final battle save I checked my chars and they all stopped around Ice Golems and chapter 3/4 monsters...so maybe some versions are bugged? |
Dont think so... Ice golem is 2 of my characters' Most Powerful Vanquished. Which is REALLY sad considering they have gone through the game and then HoF as well. It was apparently a VERY traumatic time in there lives and everything else seems easier.

Well... I think its based upon on how long you battled the creature and how much experience you got. When I was playing BG2:SoA
(Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn), I killed a Red Dragon and it was my most powerful monster beaten since then. In Icewind Dale 2, I killed two White/Silver Dragons in the River Caves and it was my most powerful enemy vanquished since then. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > AM I LONG-WINDED OR WHAT? ;) 'The Child of Bhaal has awoken.....' -Joneleth Irenicus |
My druid had a long and a tough fight with the support beam and since that it has been the MPV for her.
|
HAHAHAHAHAHAH! I love the Dreaded and Feared Support Beam stories! That thing had a LOT of hit points... even more so in HoF.
|
Yeah, those support beams are some of the most feared monsters in the game. Only the indestructible HOG kegs can match them ;)
(Well, unless you have Kegsplitter....) Still, it's crazy to include inanimate objects with the monsters.
Nightowl2
|
So where are these killer support beams??
|
At the dam, just before Shaenegarne Bridge (you know, the Malarites). You get the most points for destroying all three support beams. The westernmost is easy, you just touch it. The other two require some beating before they collapse.

Ah ok. I remember that part. Never thought about them as enemy`s..lol
|
I still here them when I sleep, curses, taunts and promises of revenge.
Damn you support beams! Damn you all to hell and back!!! |

in the words of Luvian, "My Barbarian's most powerfull vanquished ennemy has long been the 'deadly and infamous' support beam..." seems to be the same with my druid, Kahlan, from which a true RPG player should recognize, killed a iron golem, a crystal golem at like level 7 or 8, a mind golem at level 10 and the iron gole level 10.kinda weird.

The Kegs also count in the 'number of enemies' slain statistic
|
actually the red dragon is weaker than Irenicus, Black Dragon, and the Slayer.
|
white lancer come on, SORT OF! it was more like in if she was in IWD2, there would be no saving throw, instentaneous, and never wears off. I never recall her using a sword, but im only of Stone of Tears.
|
So what. For sometime my cleric's favorite weapon has been a 'filthy goblin staff'. Yay!
(However, she didn't beat the mighty supprot beam with it - that was done by my rogue with a short sword or a dagger.) |

Well, I've read Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, Blood of the Fold, Temple of the Winds, Soul of the Fire and Faith of the Fallen. All great books, my favorite would have to be the first though. As for using a sword, (Sword of Truth SPOILERS) she uses one in a battle (several really) against the Imperial Order in Stone of Tears, Agains the Blood of the Fold in (yep you guessed it) Blood of the Fold. Injures Marlin with a sword in Temple of the Winds, No sword in Soul of the Fire. She actually uses the Sword of Truth in Faith of the Fallen, actually attacks Richard with it (not telling any more [unless specifically asked]). She quite often uses a bow, and in Wizards First Rule, she uses a mace(only time in whole series) to kill the leader of the quads (can't remember his name). Also uses Chandalen's Grandfather's Spirit Knife to defend herself once (Stone of Tears) Kills a Guard with a battle axe while escaping from Aydindril... That's all i can recall for now. :D EDIT] Also uses a sword and knife when trying to escape from the Palace of the Prophets in Blood of the Fold. Uses a meat cleaver to attack the Blood of the Fold (guess which book) EDIT] Just for anyone who is interested in a good LONG read, these books are all by Terry Goodkind. Titles are:
