At last. I am at the last battle. The first part is quite easy, but as soon as I get to the pool room, I get my ass kicked. Suggestions are welcome.

Did you purify the pool?
By the time you get there, you will probably have used most of your ressources. Try casting otyluke resilient sphere on one of your character, and sending him alone in the room, and then Isair and Madae will target him and waste their spells on him, it will waste their protection spells too. When you feel like you have waited enough, have your mage start casting area effect spells in the middle of the fray. Your character in the sphere will be immune, but the enemies will get hit. If the ennemies stop targetting the protected charcter, just have your other characters join the fray. [ 10-08-2002, 03:58 PM: Message edited by: Luvian ] |
If you didn't purify the pool, this can be tough. If you did taint the pool, then direct all your attacks at one of the twins (I prefer Madae myself). The finale won't be long in coming after that.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I tainted the pool, but there are two slayer knights protecting Isair and Madae, too that require dealing with. I have all spells available because I haven´t use magic on the first stage of battle. I will try tonight.

Don't forget, Slayer Knights are undead...your cleric should be able to make 'em cry for momma by the time you fight isair and madae...as long as you have a decent charisma.

OOooops..... how does Charisma affect "turning"????
I mean just how much charisma can a snirfveblin have???? GRRRRR,..... |
Under the new rules, Charisma has become more important for Clerics. You can turn undead 3 + charisma modifier (if any) times per day. You can increase that by taking the Extra Turning feat.
It's also used to determine how many, and how powerful, the undead you can turn. There are separate tables for this in the rules. Of course, if your charisma happens to be negative, that will subtract from your chances.
Nightowl2
|

I already dealt with the slayer kights but I & M just keep kicking my sorry arses.
|
Ah! one thing more: The Otiluke resilient sphere trick doesn't work here or so it seems, because as soon you open the door of the first battle stage, your party is transported automatically to the pool room and your "otiluked" char is left behind.
|
Otyluke them all, then.
|
After 20 tries or so, I did it!!!
I bested Isair and Madae. Just my paladin remained alive, though. |
Just a couple of questions please.....i am facing the final battle at the moment but i cant seem to get past the first part ....as soon as you are teleported to the throne room.......i manage to kill all of the i and ms allies but there seems to be endless monsters being summonned and i did purify the pool.......what lvl where your characters by this stage?

I found the trick was to be "fleet of foot". I won it several times, but found this method the easiest.
1st battle: Head SE right away to avoid the initial spell barrage. Kill the mage who is out of sight. Then swing back and pick off all the remaining peons. Run around and let time remove their protection spells. Then wound one of them enought to stop the battle. (to delay, use monster decoys, etc.) 2nd battle: Same thing. After you kill the initial guys, run around and wait for some of the protection spells to wear off. Then do the "doorway" trick, where you stand on the other side of the door and let only one through at a time. M was easier to kill than I. If he starts to wound one of your guys too much, have him run away and heal himself. Oh, there are 2 more boots of speed you can loot from the 1st battle. This helps a lot in wearing them out. Concentrate all your attacks on one guy only. |
Thanx for the tips...............
no probs after finding the damn mage.............shows me for not looking around..... in 2nd prt of fight though i found it easy with prot from magic scolls which i had 2 of on my main fighters....all spells cast against them were useless thus making the battle easy........whole party survived ..............thanxs again guys im getting rusty these days nightshift |
