Have you tried using all your potions and buffer spells. Especially *haste, potions of giant strength, potions of heroism, potions of power, potions of invulnerability etc etc dont be afraid to use what u have in your inventory, this is the final battle. For more detailed help please list your party members.

I personally have never fought Sarevok, but I have heard of a cheesey way to beat him. Atleast I think it will work. Try to Charm one of Sarevok's goonies. When I read about this tactic I can't remember if you are supposed to use the 1st level Charm spell, a Nymph Cloak, or the Dire Charm spell. Nonetheless, it *should* work.

Also, you might try hasting your tank/fighter while he/she is wearing the Boots of Speed. You will absolutely FLY!! Or you could try using Olliokes (spelling) Resiliant Sphere. Or you can juice up your party with whatever defensives spells you have, then AFTER that you can give them Potions of Magic blocking. I'm pretty confident that the Magic Bocking potions will not dispell the effects that they were PREVIOUSLY under. And maybe try casting Dispell on Sarevok and his crew, or Sillence and have your tank(s) go after him. I also heard that he is ALOT harder to beat if you have TotSC installed.
Hopefully this helps. ;)

i do not believe that you are fighting sarevok. I think that you are fighting the mercenaries right before him, as they have arrows of exploding, or whatever they are. Try protection from fire and find the archer with the exploding arrows and kill him first.

His gooons are the ones that are tough. Haste and Arrows od Detonation are a painful combination. Try approaching slowly and lure them out one by one. Then after you take care of them go near Sarevok to initiate dialogue and take him down.

What is so cheesy? It is nothing secret or nothing.

What do you mean it's not cheesey? OK, you are about to finish a journey that took probably several weeks, only to watch the big boss man duke it out with his 'right' and 'left' hand men. I suppose if you try it once or twice during the battle but continue with other methods if it fails, then it could be considered fair. But to use that as your only tactic by reloading over and over again until it works, is a little bit on the cheesey side. But then again that's only my opinion. ;)

One of Sarevok's allies (Angelo) has Arrows of Detonation, too. Only 2 of them, but that's enough to cause some serious hurt. I won't say much about the battle, but I will say that Dispel Magic, coupled with a Thief or Ranger in Stealth, can really help you out.

In ToSC, the battle just gets cheesier--each of the Final 4 enemies has a Web & Stinking Cloud ability: The first time each of those 4 can see one of your party members, Web & Cloud will be fired at the spot where your character is standing. Yeah, like Tazok can cast 3rd-level Wizard spells, riiiiight.

Ok, i finally defeated Sarezok but it involved me turning the diffuculty down to the ezeyest setting and even THEN i got beaten to a pulp!. I have TotSC installed too. The battle was very epic and by the end of it there was me with 5HP and Viconia with 1HP. Basicly i followed the advice of another thread and sent imoen up ahead with haste and invisibility potions... and she got killed. Sarevoks mage then teleported to neer the entrance to the temple and i managed to kill him but lost Coran. I then went head to hgead with sarevok and i dont know where the rest of his cronies went but my party got slaughterd and the remaining party members except viconia and me were not only killed by were whiped off my party list entirely! So long story short; My friends died but they died with honour, pride and protection scrolls gallore!
Do you think i did well?

This is off-topic, but I wanted to congratulate you on the wonderful BG I website you've put together, Six. It's comprehensive, helpful and easy to navigate. I know a fair bit about the game but your site has still come in very useful for me. I have bookmarked it and will be checking back for further reference in future. Well done! (humble bow)

Why, thank you kindly, Arledrian. The site originally started as a Word document I put together as a helpful Guide to my friend Andrew, who lent me his BG2 discs to play (obtensibly, to make sure they worked OK), and to whom I lent my BG1 discs to get hooked on the game, before I gave him his BG2 CDs back.

One crashed hard drive later, the Guide was reincarnated on the Web, so everybody could benefit. If anyone's curious, I wrote it from the point of view of the newbie just starting out in BG1, but it contains every bit of information you'll need to put together a really good character and smack the game around some, all the way through Throne of Bhaal--without giving any spoilers. I don't even reveal things like "Who you can have in your party in the first 30 seconds of Baldur's Gate II." So feel free to visit & see what's in store in future games, if you want: You won't read anything you'll wish you hadn't.

I should add that the site's not quite done yet: I still have to fill in the URLs for some of the Links in Appendix 2, and eventually I'll be adding a complete list of all the spells, with descriptions, even noting which spells are for Clerics and which are for Druids.

Well, as long as there's more inforation that's not covered in the manuals (the books for BG1 & ToSC don't tell you about the spells you can get in BG2), there'll be more for me to add. That way, people will be able to see for themselves why they shouldn't be a Transmuter, instead of asking "What class should I be?" every 30 seconds. :D
