check it out:
http://feedback.blackisle.com/images/inventory.jpg looks like BIS is feeding us tidbits to keep us from getting frustrated over the release delays. |
They probably are just throwing us crumbs, but that just makes the waiting more frustrating! What is the projected release date now, something like 28 June? *sigh* Two more weeks....
|
Last word from the designers was that they had submitted "FC1" - which is the FIRST version of the "final cut" of the game. For what its worth, IWD went gold on "FC5".
They are getting close. |
Then I'll be more realistic and project the date to be more like the end of July. I'd rather know than not; knowing implies an anticipated date while not knowing is Limbo.

well the delay between FC1 and FC5 for IWD was NOT all that long ...
|
Well, then. I suppose I'd better just check the official site for release dates.

I must have IWD2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two more inventory screen shots:

Hey! I just noticed something cool in the screenies! Look carefully at the quick weapon slots in the top right of the inventory screen. It appears that rather than holding individual weapons, it holds weapon combos. So slot #1 could be a sword & shield, slot #2 two swords, slot#3 missile weapon, etc.
Sure gives the player a lot of flexibility & simplifies things a lot. No more fumbling with the inventory in the middle of the battle to swap shield for bow or whatever. Just click on the combo and you're all set. What do you think? [ 06-19-2002, 09:41 PM: Message edited by: Hayashi ] |
A gold star for Hayashi!!! VERY OBSERVANT!!! Indeed, the inventory screen will allow for weapon combinations so it will be easier to switch from sword and shield to bow for example. I LOVE that change.
Okay, now see if you can spot the improvement in THIS screen. http://feedback.blackisle.com/images/iwd2hpbar.jpg |
I'm not sure if I like the tool button bar and text dialogue window at the bottom of the screen. They look a little big to me and there doesn't seem to be any way of making at least the latter smaller. Nice pictures nonetheless, thanks for posting them, Micah

Budha and I were at CompUSA last weekend and I spotted IWD2-----or so I thought. It was the 'collector's bonus' or some such nonsense. Talk about a huge disappointment!!! And a tease. I'm beginning to get very irritated waiting, but I suppose I really should go back and finish out my ToL game since Micah so thoughtfully sent me a copy after mine went fritz. :D

The toolbar gives you buttons for both hands, so a dual-wielder can click on both of his weapons.
|
Why didn't I see that? *slaps forehead*
I wonder what the button next to the weapon/shield ones does - the one with the icon of a hammer & pickaxe. [ 06-28-2002, 12:14 AM: Message edited by: Hayashi ] |
in my opinion, it looks like an exact take off(the inventory) of diablo and diablo II from Blizard Intertainment. i have nothing against it.................but i think they should keep with the old(the original) IwD and HoW

That's not actually what I was referring to, but its a good catch.
Look at the health "bars", color coded so you can see at a glance what your health state is. |

All i remember is always having to go to the inventory screen to do that. By the way, Micah, that is nice too. (color bars) lata |
