I have run into Nym and after a long conversation have found out the truth about the elves and dwarves.

NOW - do I try to kill him there and then (I know he casts dimension door) or do I leave it and do I have to report him to anyone, so they can deal with him?

If I attempt to kill him and he leaves, do I ruin the plot, or is that what I am supposed to do. Or do I not let on that I know and do I get to report him later?

I am a goody goody two shoes Ranger who thinks this Nym is a £%&* and would dearly like to cut him up into chunky bits, but the way he dimension doors it out of there makes me think he will turn up later.

Or, it may not matter either way, in which case I will attack him.
(It won't give me experience and I won't kill him, but it WILL make ME feel better).

Don't you just want to slice that @$%@$Q(*$ drow into Sushi? I didn't .... and regretted not doing it, the rest of the game.

This is second hand info - but aparently Nym can be killed. But you have to chase him around a LOT. ALSO, there was a quest that was REMOVED from the game that actually involved turning him in.

ANOTHER SPOILER .................... FROM IWD2!
(WARNING! Do not read this if you do NOT want ANY advance info about IWD2 plot information!!!!)

JE Sawyer from BIS sent out a couple of sound bites from 2 NPCs in IWD2. And one of them is NYM!!! No doubt about it! So you MAY have your chance to kill him ANYWAY! hehehehe .. although killing him twice is MUCH more fulfilling!

RIGHT...

I will go and make that little *&^% regret his dirty dealings, even if it means the scenic route round the maps.

I WILL get him.

Don't know how long I will have to wait for IWD2, I am playing on a Mac and we are way behind in everything. No HOW yet or TotL.

Hell, haven't even got TOB ported for BGII yet.

I surround him, and attack him without saying anything, and before i do that, I'm hasted. I chunked his little drow @$$

Azred 04-27-2002 08:53 PM

<font color = lightgreen>No, don't kill him.

Subdue him, then give him to Larrel. </font>

SomeGuy 04-27-2002 10:05 PM

Azred is that possible?

Micah Foehammer 04-27-2002 10:10 PM

No. Its not possible to subdue him .... but the idea is so, so .... appealing. ;)

SomeGuy 04-27-2002 10:56 PM

This was the fight between me and nym.nym casted mordakin's sword. He is the one in the black.

SecretMaster 04-27-2002 11:04 PM

NOoo. Don't Subdue him

Zidane 04-28-2002 06:18 AM

Woooohoooooooo GOT HIM!

I had my Druid (Dreyfus Forestminda) cast wand of heavens on him twice in quick succession whilst my Ranger (Me - Lady Zidane), Fighter (Shakira Sordblaid) and Thief (Filch Pickapockit) fired at him with arrows of fire. Got the so and so before he could even think of casting dimension door.

The other two - my mage (Xavia Spelcasta) and my Paladin (Pedrix Palandrin) helped too with their bullets and darts.

I feel SOOOOO much better now that little $A=% is toast.

I think I will go and have a coffee now after all that. (My fella looks at me in total amusement cos he thinks these type of games suck - and him on his second rerun of Final Fantasy VII on the PS one!!!!)

I see you have a new signature (long) and that little Starwars animation is really cool. But I just wanted to mention something that I'd noticed in a few previous posts. "Casted" is not a word. The past tense of Cast is, Cast. (I'm sure your Mage knew that already)

<font color = lightgreen>"Cool" is, indeed, an adjective; however, it makes no sense to apply that adjective to the noun "animation". As a collection of pixels on a computer monitor, the animation is not technically "cool" (which would mean it has less thermal energy than its surrounding environment).

Beginnng a sentence with the word "but" creates a sentence fragment. Sentence fragments are grammatical errors, but I'm certain your English teacher knew that already.

Come on, Leafy. Give the poor SomeGuy a break! Having two mages battle each other with Mordenkainen's Sword is interesting to watch in IWD, I must admit. Try it! </font>

Leafy 05-03-2002 06:10 PM

Yes, yes Azred, starting a sentance with "but" is a fragment. The statement about the word "cool" not being able to describe an animation is just, well facetious. Are you saying the Starwars animation isn't "cool?" Of course not, you're just trying to be snooty. I was just trying to be helpfull. Come on, do you honestly think that someone would WANT to go around saying a word like "casted" without knowing how bad it sounds? Better a polite email (and i do believe it was polite), than being laughed at by your peers at the next D&D session. Really.. let's just be reasonable

SomeGuy 05-03-2002 06:31 PM

Hey Leafy I'm an 11 year old that hardly listens to my spelling and english teacher. What are you going to exspect?

Azred 05-03-2002 06:43 PM

<font color = lightgreen>I'm always reasonable. As are you. :D

Just pulling your leg a little. I listen to the <font color = skyblue>sprout</font> come up with nonsense words all the time (he's only 6, so what can you expect?).

Snooty? *ponder* Ok. I'm mature enough to admit that I was a little snooty. No harm done, eh? </font>

Zidane 05-05-2002 04:49 AM

Now, getting back to my original topic

How many of you managed to KILL Nym?

And HOW?

Or didn't it bother you that he was such an evil sod (can I say sod?)

Cheers

Lady Zidane

Micah Foehammer 05-05-2002 12:55 PM

I let him live ... and wished now that I had killed him. lol

Azred 05-06-2002 11:03 AM

<font color = lightgreen>I left him alone long enough to pick through the goods he had for sale, then turned on him but unfortunately could not kill him before he disappeared. Oh, well.

Yes, you may say "sod", Lady Zidane. "Small rectangular pieces of grass carpeting" is pretty tame. </font>

TheGrandSlayer 05-06-2002 04:38 PM

YEAH!I killed Nym!My 2 fighters (one with a +5 proficiency with great swords ) and my ranged people killed that darn drow!(An' then we killed Dirty Llew cause he's just a sicko
