I don't know how far you can go with her in the romance-departement, seeing as I haven't really tried. Aerie is easier, so I've always kinda went with her. But now I'm bored, and I want to try Jaheira. How far can I go before I have to continue the romance on ToB?
|
<font color="gold">The Jaheira-romance is much larger and more in-debth than the Aerie-romance. You will get far before you have to continue in ToB. ;)
Unfortunatly, the Jaheira-romance is also much more bugged than the Aerie-romance. :( Also, Welcome to Ironworks! </font> [ 04-22-2003, 01:45 PM: Message edited by: Sir Exxon ] |
I'm not really sure what your asking, but I'll lend a few thoughts,
First, Never sleep w/ the easy needy chick because she's easy and needy. It debases you both. Sleep w/ her if you love her for her positive qualities, not because it the quickest way to a wet wick. Second, The first time I play SoA I found the whole romace thing very bizarre and basicaly ignored it. Then I realized the Black Isle was using it as a sounding board for your characters idenity. The romance helps establish your charater's desires and agenda. Now on my second time around I made sure to get the jaheria romance right and with much much help from fourm boards and the use of Shaow Keeper (Thank you all so much) I finally got it right. I say this because I think it these resouces are required in order to complete the romance (I playe SoA w/ SoA and patch installed, I had not installed ToB until I had SoA final save) Last, I think if you've 'had' arie (w/ jahera in the party (no pun intended))you'll not 'get' jaheria. You know, kind of like in real life where you try and date your ex's best friend. If shes has no self respect she sleeps with you and you have no self respect for trying. I belive jaheria's 'character' is ment to be one of noble demanour. Don't confuse a persons (or NPC's) 'character' with thier 'alingment' or their crabby nature. |
I installed the Imoen romance last week and I am absolutely loving it.
I'm also pretty glad I did install it, because Jaheria was gibbed by Kuriosan during my battle for the acid Katana... so that would have knackered any chance of romancing her. Unless my character was a necromancer, and I felt up to roleplaying romancing skeleton warrior Jaheira :D |

Maybe spoiler!!!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I once had both Aerie and Jaheira in my party. Both tried the romance thing. I picked Aerie. As soon as I picked Aerie, Jaheira got pissed off and they ended up in a fight later in the game (this happened in SoA). [ 04-23-2003, 03:10 AM: Message edited by: Jan ] |
Can someone simply tell me what happens in the Jaheira romance....no need to go into it TOO detailed but a quick outline would be great,....
Remember to put spoiler warnings on that one! |

Hehe, hadde ingen anelse om at du var norsk... Det er så få av oss i disse dager. To all others, I know that you don't appreciate that I (we) use my (our) native language, it's just that I found it much easier to explain what a bug is on norwegian. ;) And that's all I did as well, simply told him what a bug is, and that he should come here if he ever runs into one of them. ;) </font> |
That's okay Sir Exxon . I see nothing wrong with that.
I can confirm that Sir Exxon just explained what a bug is (in his native language). |

Dont try and install it without first installing the baldurdash fixpack. |
The sad summary of the Jaheira-TOB romance is that essentially, NOTHING HAPPENS.
None of the TOB romances was particularly well-executed but Jaheira's is easily the weakest. Although the master wraith encounter (as it was for all the NPCs) is pretty well done, the rest of the discussions are basically about nothing. There is a sense of familiarity and comfort but no CLOSENESS, not until the endgame, anyway. And her in-romance epilogue is lousy. I think the work we've done on all of the flirt packs we've published is great stuff, to put it bluntly, but for no one is it more NECESSARY than Jaheira. http://www.forgottenwars.net/npcflirt [ 04-23-2003, 01:01 PM: Message edited by: jcompton ] |
... I'm a dumbshit. I haven't slept with Jaheira yet. Could that be because I've tampered with the romancevariables? She also keeps repeating the same convo over and over. That only happened when she decided not to be a Harper anymore. And right now, I'm on SoA simply because I want to get the most out of every romance before entering ToB.
Does anyone know of a Mazzy romance, or should I just shut up? |
I love the flirt pack! Its really great, creates a feeling of...closeness. It makes the romance seem far more real than it does without it. And there is an A-Z romance guide out there, I'll just go look for it, just a sec...
Here it is. It is a good guide that shows the consequences of any dialogue options and shows which answers can be best. Unfortunately it only covers the SoA part of the romance, but it is interesting to look through. That way, you can look at the entire Romance and I don't spoil anyone! Mer... to be quite honest, I tire of this romance with Jaheira. I've encountered Dermin for the first time. In some RomanceGuidance file I read, it said to either be in Athkatla or at the d'Arnise keep, and sleep for six ingame days. Well, shit me if I'm wrong, but I've slept for six days on the keep, and still no reappearing Dermin. What gives?
|
Don't get me started on the jaheria romance it's SO bugged. My Undead Hunter tried it and I encountered a dailog loop so I wouldn't be suprised to see you have a bug also. Perhaps someone can give you some CLUA varibles that may fix it if you do indeed have a bug, I'm not an expert on such things sorry.

I don't know if it's bugged, but the guide said that I should sleep for six ingame days after first encountering Dermin. I've slept for 12 and a half, and not a sign of the bastard.
I don't care if it's a bug or not, it still pisses me off. =P |
Are you still inside the Keep? Quest-related people usually don't spawn inside buildings. (I remember sleeping off a quest in the sewers and coming topside to deal with 2 NPC quests at once. Ouch.)
If you're following the GameFAQs romance guide, take everything the author says with a grain of salt. The writer misses a lot of stuff. Treat it as the powergamer's guide to romance. ;) There's also the possibility Demin got "eaten" by a missed trigger or map change. Some quests change the area map depending on how/if the quest in the area got solved. If Demin doesn't appear by the time you're ready to end Chapter 3 (at least 20-30 days into the romance), spawn him through the CLUA console. |
Try moving around a bit from Athkatla to the Keep. Sometimes moving around can help. I recommend Waukeen's Promenade, incidentally.

He still hasn't showed up. The correct CLUA-command is CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("<monster name>"), right? Is it Dermin06 I'm supposed to use? Is it casesensitive?
|
I've CLUAed the bastard in. Still no talkie-talkie. >.<
