Is it just me or is aerie the coolest sweetest cutest sexiest npc in the whole bg saga??????????? is just love her she is a good cleric and so cute!!!!!

(i think i have fallen in love with a NPC....)

Grammar 11-10-2002 01:45 PM

I've personally always found Viconia more attractive. She's an OK cleric, but when I took her through SoA and ToB Anomen and my Sorc both overpowered her. In most fights she just kind of hid away whining about being useless =/

Dundee Slaytern 11-10-2002 01:48 PM

Aerie is my favourite female NPC, and second only to Keldorn overall.

Lord Lothar 11-10-2002 03:03 PM

I used to take her along with my parties but after I discovered Korgan, I never took her again.

purre 11-10-2002 04:31 PM

Aerie does have good sides, being cleric/mage is very good. But she is very weak. She is always the first one to die,so I dont take her in my party anymore. She isnt very useful as dead.

Zarr 11-10-2002 05:19 PM

Aerie is decent, I've had her in one of my parties for a short time but I always have trouble fitting her in one of my party setup's so she never becomes a long term party member. My favorite female npc(and favorite npc overall) is Mazzy who is a fine archer(not the kit) and also has an engaging personality.

jcompton 11-10-2002 08:12 PM

Cristian, have you seen the Aerie flirt pack yet?

http://www.forgottenwars.net/npcflirt

Cristian 11-11-2002 01:37 AM

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU jcompton!!!!!!!
i will try this=)

jcompton 11-11-2002 03:15 AM

Thought so.

Deathmage 11-11-2002 03:44 AM

I like Aerie too...she's my type of girl...Vicco and Jahe just, well, ain't for me.

Cristian 11-11-2002 08:37 AM

yeah like deathmage said viconcia and jaheria ( i havnet played any romances with them but)they seem so cold and they are no so nice...

9_1_6 11-12-2002 01:00 AM

I like Jahiera over all the female characters.

jcompton 11-12-2002 01:23 AM

Good. She's in the flirt pack too.

Sythe 11-12-2002 05:15 PM

Aerie well mmmmmmmm uhh no comments except that well uh ....lets just say I only tried her her out only 4 times :D

Kaltia 11-15-2002 06:29 AM

*laughs quietly to herself*
Is it just me or is Aerie the whiniest, most annoying NPC after Anomen? :D
Before anyone begins accusing me of something I know little of (limerick squad KFA member ;) ) Aerie was in my first three party squads. I then realised there were more tolerable and useful NPCs out there so I dumped her (in a body bag in the river). I have romanced her; all I could say was *yawn* she makes Anomen sound interesting. Viccy, the best voice, cleric, and romance option in the game ^ ^
First favourite NPC? IMMY! Myself, Attalus and Galadria savage all Imoen hater (hefts her borrowed "Attalus' axe +30 against Imoen haters)

Just how damn suggestive is Viconia's voice? All the female characters have voices that convey their thoughts nicely, but Viccy - now there is a woman. I nearly melt every time she speaks with that voice; like tunes from a garrot stringed harp rolling off her tongue in dagger shaped tones. Deadly suggestive.

Hmm..

Maybe time for a change of subject before I start thinking about rolling things around with my tongue;P

Kaltia 11-15-2002 11:44 AM

In Viconia's case her voice perfectly matches her portrait. When I think of drow women talking I expect them to sound like her Only obviously not as great )

Raistlin Majere 11-15-2002 04:45 PM

I also think that Viconia is the best NPC(after edwin. he´s so funny, laucnhing fireballs at nearly everyone.). I mean she has indeed the best portrait, the best voice, the best romance options( MINOR SPOILER: you get to krhm... "shag" her the most). Aerie whines too much and goes with that damned Haerdalis if you happen to have him in the party. And she isn't that good anyway. I keep Viconia and Edwin nearly everytime i play BG2.

jcompton 11-15-2002 10:21 PM

The flirt packs even out the affections a bit more. It's no longer that you basically have to pick Viconia if you want a physical relationship.

True_Moose 11-15-2002 10:42 PM

Hey jc, are there any plans to expand the flirt pack? I was thinking maybe some non-serious flirting with other female NPCs. (not Imoen though, that's just gross )

Legolas The Magnificent 11-16-2002 12:27 AM

she rules my soul wherever i go.... if ever shes real... ill make her a wife.

That would leave Nalia and Mazzy.

Nalia, I'm taking care of with the upcoming de'Arnise Romance mod.

Mazzy, well, Mazzy has her good friend Valygar to keep her company. I don't know that she's the flirty type, but if someone wanted to do such a project, I'd be happy to explain how.

Bardan the Slayer 11-30-2002 12:03 PM

IMHO, Aerie suffers from the Anomen syndrome. They have long initial periods of whininess/arrogance, before getting support from the PC and questioning their attitude, before ending up as more self-confident/tolerant.

Neither are bad NPCs (may my tongue turn black for saying that about Anomen) if you have them in your party for a while, but the way she whines/he boasts from the start may put you off so early that you never see them through to their more rounded endgame personalities.

John D Harris 11-30-2002 12:34 PM

I keep all three of the lovely ladies, A,V,&J slap the "Horn Dog" patch on so my PC doesn't have to worry about picking :D

I haven't had much of a problem with Aerie, sure she's got low HP, but she's a magic user/cleric she's not a tank. She's got no business getting in a one on one scrap with anything anyway, She's support. Stands in the background chunking Magic missles, fireballs, Holy smite, Cloud kill etc. and healing.

Armour Va-Va-Vicky (Viconia) up give her the belt of fortitude, and the mauler's Arm mace and She can scrap with anything her little Drow Heart wants to.

Ja-Hotty armour her up and give her the staff of Rhym, and sit back and watch her wade through any battles.

It's usually my PC, Minsc and 4 bady dolls :D :D

Khazraj 11-30-2002 09:04 PM

Aerie is a joke. The best thing I ever did to her was to take her along to the Underdark and toss her away in Ust Natha after massacring all the Drow. I ripped the stuff off her and gave her a parting gift, the Bracers of Clumsiness and the Ring of Folly. I hope that she enjoys her new home. And besides the best romance option is Korgan...

The Hunter of Jahanna 11-30-2002 10:29 PM

Aerie , the scourge of the sword coast!! It is just too bad they didnt cut out her tounge when they cut off her wings. She is such a tremendous cry baby that she makes Xan from BG1 look like the happiest man on earth. Not to mention that she is just what the game didnt need, another half assed dual class mage. The only good thing I can say is that at least she isnt dualed to a thief like the rest of the crappy mages in the game.

SixOfSpades 12-01-2002 05:29 PM

I agree that Aerie should realize that she doesn't need to be so dependent on everybody, and that she can grow a spine of her own--or at least she shouldn't sound so helpless. Conversation options (especially in her romance) that allow you to encourage her to show some guts would be most welcome.

But anyone that thinks Aerie isn't a kickass character is wrong. WAY wrong. As is anyone who thinks that she's Dual-Classed when she's actually Multi-Classed. (Note: Nobody in the game is Dualed to Thief.)

I think you're right about Aerie, she's not a front line tank, she's support artillary and medic corp rolled into one. I'll take her over Ed anytime, he can't heal squat. If you like to tote around healing potions and take up slots and money buying them, be my guest. Personnaly I never leave home without 3 healers, dead raisers. I like triple redundance :D

Khazraj 12-02-2002 12:38 AM

Aerie is just so useful in combat heavy TOB. I bet she could take on Draconis alone, the way that Korgan can...

Multi, dual , who cares? Aerie still sucks! Being multi class just means instead of doing one thing well she does 2 things significantly less than well.

Angelousss 12-02-2002 03:27 AM

I just finished an aerie romance game, and she's decent. toke her a little to long to get lev 9 spells though(making imoen much better at blasting away rooms, time stop, lower restinance, dragon breath, time stop, adhw, adhw watch a roomfull of baddies die) but her healing made up for it in spades, plus i gave her the crom faeyr giving 25 strength and she carried all the heavy stuff

also if you take her through tob she becomes a lot less naive and whiny(lets see how you'd act after being taken from your people, enslaved, tortured and having 2 limbs cut off) in fact she yells at you at one point(viccy is my favorite romance so far though

She yells at you? That's more like it! If i chuck sweet innocent Aerie into my morally indecent and thoroughly evil posse, will she still chuck a spak? Or will she just whine?

Terl 12-02-2002 05:56 PM

Aerie, That useless, wingless, whineball!? you have got to be kidding, romance is the last thing that comes to mind. There are so many times that I wanted to have her killed. Ending the romance was the only way to get her to shut up, for a while. Now she mainly says that snobby phrase about things being beneath her and, my favorite, "I feel so cold" just before she dies.
Apart from being a back of the party conjurer, she serves no purpose. I regret not having grabbed that mage at the bar in SoA.

Dundee Slaytern 12-03-2002 12:53 AM

Contary to popular belief, a multiclassed Cleric/Mage is not worse off because of the lower levels in either class. Assuming it is 75% efficiency on either side, that is a total of 150% efficiency.

A Cleric/Mage is truly a power to behold, and can easily kick any Mage or Cleric in a fair fight; because you see... you can combine the cheese potential of both classes and mix them around to make new cheese.

Time Stop + Harm is a classic cheese from the Cleric/Mage, and if you think spamming spells as a Mage under Improved Alacrity is impressive, wait till you witness what a Cleric/Mage who has double the payload can do. ;)

Just my $0.02 worth on the powergaming aspect of Aerie.

arion windrider 12-03-2002 05:05 AM

aerie is the coolest npc for the main character to fall for... ive tried to hook up with vicona and got shot down... too bad for her... hehheh

shadowhound 12-03-2002 06:29 AM

Aerie is the definition of ANNOYING, if I hear her whining pointless squeking again *shudders*

Now Viconia, thats a NPC woman ;)
