One request please - please don't post spoilers in this thread!
It's my first time threw the Keep. I just finished the first level of the keep. My party is: Cavalier, lvl 12 Fighter/Thief (multi), lvl 10/12 Stalker->Cleric, lvl 9->12 Sorcerer, lvl 13 Archer, lvl 12 The first level wansn't very hard, except the battle with all the statues. My question is - do you think i can handle the second level already? I know that the third, forth, and fifth level are definetly for after the Underdark, but do you think that the second level is doable in my level? And remember guys, NO spoilers pliz... |
Yes.

Thnx for the detailed response, Dundee. ;)
J/K, you are, as always, great source of inforamtion! |
You flatter me, especially since I just foobared over in the SoA forum. ;)
Your party will not encounter much difficulty, save the boss of the level(naturally, but with your party make-up, there is a surefire tactic to defeat said boss. Not spoiling you though ;) ). Besides the boss, there are no other serious problems, so long as you are careful and not too brash. Level 2 is more about brains than brawn. I highly do not recommend level 3 until you start getting High Level Abilities as there are boss parties that will boggle your mind. |

I was just feeling proud - one doesn't get many chances to correct... Dundee Slaytern . But, thnx for your help once more. |
Well, i just cleaned all the 2nd level...
But it was a weird boss fight. Hard, but weird. Check my other thread here for details. |
On a sidenote, remember that the difficulty of the Tower adjustes after your party's strength. It is easier in chapter 2 then in chapter 6. ;)

One little note, Alson.....
On the 1st floor, did you find a Bastard Sword that starts with an F? |
Yes, i did.
Boy, does my bastard-sword-dual-wielding-cavalier love that sword . |
I'm heading out to do the first two (maybe three) levels of Watcher's Keep...Should be a breeze with my level 11 Half-Orc fighter ;) .
|
Hmmm, gets harder in chapter 6 someone said........harder how...I thought in general it was kind of low in terms of difficulty (but my party is all around 18th level), and that the demogorgon fight was particularly easy...what changes in chapter 6?

Hey!!
after reading this thread i went back to WK but i can't seem to find any bastard sword on the first level?? where is it?? i can't find any secret doors!! any help would be great!! cheers!! |
The Bastard Sword that begins with an F is one of the BEST weapons in the whole damn game. And sorry, Rob, but you appear to have screwed yourself out of it (you'll NEVER find it) by entering the 1st floor of Watcher's Keep too soon. You see, the game adjusts itself to the party's level: If you're high-level, there will be more difficult enemies, or simply a greater number of enemies. If you are low-level, you will be facing fewer, weaker enemies. When you entered WK, the game removed some of the statues, to pose less of a challenge to you.
And one of the statues carried that Bastard Sword. Now we know. Don't enter Watcher's Keep unless your party is at least Level 11-12, on average. |
hey!!
well i don't get it coz when i entered i was level 14-16 on average??? is there no way of getting it now without a mod?? cheers!! |
That's funky, levels 14-16 should be more than enough, unless you were all Thieves, Bards, Clerics.....
Are you positive you searched all the bodies? That happened to me once, on my first run through the Keep. I missed what's arguably the best Longsword in the game because there were so many bodies I couldn't even see the corpse of their Captain. Realistic, I suppose. (Why can't we use a Fireball spell to dissolve dead bodies instantly?) |
