I started my character as a Elven Stalker in bg2. Although he couldnt wear metal armour he could sneek past anything and anyone. In tob he is now a 'fallen stalker' I have no idea why. He cant hide in shadows anymore or cast spells, so now my characters pretty bad if it wasent for his magic items. Why has he become 'fallen'

First off, welcome to Ironworks, Coran
Paladins and rangers fall if your reputation drops below a certain point. Both classes have codes of honor about upholding good etc. Rangers are easier on this than paladins, but even a ranger shouldn't do too much evil deeds, lest he loses his status and his special abilities. You may have done a wrong thing during the 'Tears of Bhaal'-quests in Hell at the very end of SoA. This often causes said classes to fall. And I'm afraid that other than reloading from an earlier point there's no way to undo it. |
You most likely took one of the evil paths in hell. Not much you can do other than going back to a previous save or living with your seriously disabled character.

One of the few negatives I see in the game is that they never put in a special quest to let a "fallen one" regain their status and abilities.
|
Yes, that would have been a good feature. Although, according to the Complete Paladin's Handbook, when a paladin of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart commits an evil deed, he is hunted down and executed without mercy. So they don't give a second chance either.

The most common bungle people make in hell is wanting to keep blackrazor. It's a good sword, but it will mess up paladins and rangers.
|
I didnt do anything bad. I killed Irenicus and gave the BlackRazor and didnt wear that skin stuff to make me brave.
However I remember having a really bad reputation after turning into the slayer loads of times to get out of the Mind Flayer place in the underdark. I like the name 'fallen stalker'. it sound so cool |
With my good old PC I could make something realy intresting... It was a bug so I could create a Lawful Evil PALADIN.
kuite fun aqtually |
Coran,
Did you by any chance kill the dragon in Hell? That counts as evil... you're supposed to ask it nicely for the tear. -- Nifft |

And it might even be fun roleplaying-wise to play a fallen whatever if the game would give you more opportunity to roleplay. Like a paladin losing his status, trying hard to regain it, or becoming embittered and turning to evil. But there's not much in the game that permits that sort of thing. |
Summarizing, there are TWO ways to become "fallen" -
One is by letting your reputation fall too low. This is preventable by donating money to a local church to boost your reputation back up. The other is to take any ONE of the evil path solutions in the Trials of Bhaal. There is NO way to restore your paladinhood or rangerhood status if you have chosen this route. The road to hell may be paved with good intentions but its a one way street! |

To be TOTALLY clear, I didn't say that the donations would RESTORE paladinhood/rangerhood but simply that the "fallen" status due to reputation loss was PREVENTABLE. (I will concede that one could interpret the post as saying that the donations would restore it ... my apologies for the confusion).

I didn't say you did, but as you said it could've been interpreted like that. Sorry if I came across a bit rude

Don't sweat it ...
I've tried to make my posts as accurate as possible but I don't always succeed. LOL SO many questions, so little time! |
