I did when I finished ToB.... is this weird?

Larry_OHF 08-15-2001 01:52 PM

I understand completely.
Though not brought to tears, I had the goose bumps thing.

I almost did. Especially when choosing the 2nd option. It seems that where ever you go there you are. And what you leave behind is the price you must pay for what is to come. It is sad.

Awww geez, not another chaotic neutral? Where do these people come from anyway?

I was kinda broken up about having just finished the final Bhaal saga game, but thankfully no tears (my roommates may have beaten me to death - they don't understand why I play BG so much.)

Not actually tears, but it was a bit sad, especially Minsc and Sarevok.

Sharpedge 08-15-2001 05:08 PM

I have to say, it chocked me up a little. I really didn't want the saga of the child of Bhaal to end. Plus, a lot of those character endings weren't exactly happy... http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

Didn't cry, but was upset. May be, more angry than upset, because after spending a lot of time on playing through BG-ToSC-SoA-TOB I was expecting far more happy ending. I asked myself: "That's it? I was fighting all the way only to get THIS ending? NO!" It seemed like PC just left his friends (whatever ending you choose), those friends who were constantly risking their lives to help PC to complete his quest. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

When i reached the end, i choose to become a god (naturally) and when Aerie gave me a little talk about how she would "raise the child on her own and explain to him why i left", i felt like a complete and utter Bastard http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

So i refought the final battle and choose the "good" ending http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Sort of, first I thought: Man, now youve beat the best game ever, there will be nothing better, but now I cant wait till NWN, cause of the multiplaying ability (which isnt good at BG2). Until then I spare my time soloing SoA, which I find a lot better than ToB. In ToB theres only one storyline, in SoA you go through Athlaka and nearly everyone (when I played it the first time) seemed to talk to me. Thats missing in ToB, any comments???

But by the time your a near god (levels 26+) then you really are below quests like "find my lost slipper" or such other mundane tasks. Just a thought http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

no, i really didnt get choked up. i got a few goose bumps, but i take that as just my natural reaction to various things. i actually thot Sarevoks and Edwins comments were kinda funny, and the Solar saying you disgusted her was kinda funny to me...

ahahahha some of you people cried!

I chose the mortal ending because I couldn't leave Aerie 1st time.#
2nd time Itried to choose god ending but ended up choosing mortal again. I just love Aerie so much!
A managed to pick god on the third time with the volume off so I couln't hear what Aerie said...

I guess some of us role-play more seriously than others.

Not at all - I don't consider a CRPG to be role-play anyway - if it was, I would have had one or two things to say to that damned Solar when she was insulting Lord Raptor - this "fixed options" thing leaves me cold as I often think of something ELSE I would rather say if allowed to role-play in character properly

No tears because I thought the ending was a bit naff - I quite liked Sarevok's ending - have yet to get Minsc to the ending though. Thought Edwin's ending was a shame though - he was cool!

I felt so bad about choosing the godhood option after I saw Jaheira's ending that I went back and did it again. Viconia's romanced ending had a flavor of the (spolier alert)

tragic classical romance, but it really ticked me off. We go through all of that, she changes her alignment, settles down, and THEN gets killed. Grrr. Talk about an unsatisfying end to one of the best romances in the game... Overall, the endings were done pretty well, and did invoke an emotional response.
