Hey guys! I want Serevok in my party but the thing is you have to give him a piece of your soul. Will this have an effect on the character like being weaker somehow? Also, is it better to give Imoen's soul or your main character's soul? Thanks!

How essential is it to have Sarevok plot wise.
How much more will it make the game more interesting.
I have a rep 20 party...will he break away?

1) You have to give it to him anyway.

Some would say he's essential. He's one HELL of a fighter. However, I beat the game without him, and I feel better for it. I used Minsc instead (besides, you should really beat the game at least once with Minsc. *Eeeny beeny Spoiler hint* The ending is nice. I wont give details, but I love how Black Isle handed the end)

I had Keldorn too with +6 Holy Avenger too. So together, combined with my character, melee was rather locked anyway.

And no, he wont break away. He's bound to you with a geas oath.

sarevok is probably the best fighter in the game, and i dont think minsc measures up to him at all. i prefer to give him a small portion of Imoens soul, however, cuz a) KEEP AWAY FROM MY FRAIL SOUL! and b) it provides some nice reactions between Imoen and Sarevok.

I wasnt comparing the two, I just prefer minsc roleplaying/story wise.

I read spmewhere that if you let him join without taking an oath, and respond positively when he asks you questions that he will change his alignment to Chaotic Good. Can anyone confirm this?

Sarevok is the real deal. I really thought that my fighter(whom I've babysat and nurtured all the way from BGI) was the toughest character in Faerun.

Sarevok had been level-drained and I decided, instead of wasting one of my Restoration scrolls, to have my guy just whack Sarevok lovingly in the back of the head with his sword, and then have Jaheira cast her Harper's Call on him(which makes unnecessary the need for Restoration).

Well, when I hit him, his AI kicked in and he started fighting back. I thought, "Oh, this'll be fun, Sarevok's only at about 50% hp and we'll just spar until I kill him."

Holy Smokes! When he beat my ASS down to about 5 hp in just a couple of rounds, I had to call this little session off before being forced to reload due to stupidity.

Sarevok, don't leave home without him.

Yes Saverok is good. I don't know what it is, but he has some attack called deathbringer assault. It always kills the enemy instantly. (They explode.) I like him, he and my two weapon fighter destroy basically everything in their path anyway. I like his voice too. It's evil! I wonder what people would say if the two of us returned to Baldur's Gate?

His deathbringer assault deals out an awesome 200 hp damage! He is hands down the best fighter around. He also has a real cool sounding menancing voice. Some of the interactions he has with the other party members are very interesting too ! Especially one with Minsc

Beautiful attack...any idea what triggers this? Is it a specific roll or an innate spell that the great Sarevok has?
