What did you guys choose when the solar asked you what to do at the end? I chose to become a god... hmm, maybe I'll have to implement my favorite character in my tabletop D&D campaign as a new deity.
I'm tempted to go through the game over and over again to get all the stories of the varied NPCs and what they did after I left. Also, I was a good character so it was tailored toweards that. Does it have different endings for neutral and evil characters? |
ToB end SPOILER:
> > > > > > > Amazingly....I ended up giving up my essence...but I was playing chaotic good for the first run....now to evil.... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...l_laughter.gif ------------------ Long live H22A1!!!!! [This message has been edited by Accord (edited 06-24-2001).] |
I was chaotic neutral... my party was mostly evil and egging me on. Then Jahiera used the L word and kissed goodbye... obviously I caved and gave it up.
The power of a god is meager in compared to the mental control of women. Sheesh. Loved the end stories though... perhaps someone should start a thread where we can share our various endings so we don't have to play through the game two dozen times for those of us that don't wish to. |
So you are saying that in order to complete the Romance thread with Aerie, it will be better to give up tht God-ship, and be normal?
http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/rand.gif I wonder what Sarevok will say to that?? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/rand.gif Will somebody tell me what Minsc's ending is, since I dropped him for Sarevok??? ------------------ http://members.aol.com/lasttrueprinc...ges/larry2.gif Loyal guardian of the OHF Devoted member of the Ironworks Only member of the Elite Bodyguard to Rikard (the fool that takes the bullet) Ertai's back-up Memnoch's chief look-out Member of the Ancients club Witness of the 4,000th post by Cloudposter [This message has been edited by Larry_OHF (edited 06-25-2001).] |
Aerie will tell you what she wants you to do... in a whiny way for sure.
All my evil characters said take it, the two neutral ones (jahiera and Jan) said don't... Jan had a great, great reasoning that I won't spoil. As useless as a character as he is in ToB, he has the best dialogue. |

I've selected both accept and not-accept the Bhaal essence for my character, just to see the end result (thanks to the quick save in pocket plane prior to final battle). The only ending that is different between the two paths is Aerie's. She get a good ending if you stay with her and a not-so-good one if you choose to walk the planes. As for Minsc, he returned home and was praised as a hero. I am playing evil with Sarevok as a party member now, he proves to be one of my favorites now. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...hterpurple.gif ------------------ Long live H22A1!!!!! |
Thanks for helping out!

Well of COURSE i chose to become a God and walk the Planes. My characters name was Sephiroth for crying out loud! and he was also Chaotic Evil. i think it was kinda funny how the Solar said, 'You disgust me Bhaalspawn' like 3 times.

I was disappointed with the ending. After BG and the outcry regarding the ending, bioware promised and epic ending. An epic this ending was not. In all truth, I enjoyed the BG ending more, it was simple but awe inspiring see the length of Bhaal's work. All of ToB I just felt that they simply pumped it out and did not put as much into it as BG and SoA. Grant it, it was an expansion set, but that in itself seems to be a rip to me. I was to be a trilogy. I enjoyed playing it, don't get me wrong, I just wanted a bigger finish.
Oh hell ya, I became a GOD. Cyric pissed me off, I loved taking the bastards job. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif [This message has been edited by Shangoman (edited 07-10-2001).] |
I am so, so sad because of this ending... Of course, I choose to become a god, but I couldn't get why the god may not do something for the party members? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif I wish I could take them with me - all of them, not only those five that witnessed the end of the story... It is simply not fair...
Oh, may be it is girlish and funny, but I love happy endings; and ToB ending definately was not happy! I would like to walk planes with Sarevok and Imoen and the others, but may be god-power is not enough for it? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif And what a god am I if I even may not be helping my friends and companions? Some false god, I'm sure... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif ------------------ Tanda, with best regards from Guild of Assassins |
Life isn't exactly fair (so in this respect the game was logical). However you are right Tananda, as a God you should be able to grant your companions at least one wish of a limited nature (but much better than any geni) - this would have made the ending much more intresting w/ positive and negative outcomes. Ultimatly though, allowing them to continue w/ you would just foster more hardship on them (and they won't exist as long as you will).
As an aside - I would like to be able to continue the saga/player-char. as a God in a Planescape game like Torment. Doubt if the Blackisle team would do it though, bummer. |
Spoiler alert
* * * * * * Do any of you know that you can have a baby with Aerie ? It's pretty cool and I am sure those that do will have a further pressure to give up godhood. Saverok and Viconia actually encouraged me to go for it. Viconia even said she would be my first cleric ! ------------------ Caspenir loves shining ones! |
I was a neutral good character and in true roleplaying style gave up the power. I was romanceing jahiera too. I wanted the happy ending. Better that no one has such potentially corrupting power. My character was good so I chose appropriatly. Minsc is who convinced me to stay though. I couldn't leave my butt kicking friend behind. The thing with not doing much with your friends is that it would be unfair to them to drag them into the heavens with you, they have their own lives, and it would be impossible unless they died. Dietys also have very limited power when new, and you're not really a full god anyway. Certainly not of bhaals level. A gods power in the forgotten realms is greatly dependant on how many followers they have, as seen with Anamautor, the god in the unseeing eye quest. He's practicly dead. That's about the level you're at if you choose to become a god.
Spoiler about Minsc' story - - - - - - - - Minsc goes back to rasheman a hero, with bards in every inn in Faerun singing about the heroic ranger. He forms his own adventuring group then in his advancing age sets off across faerun and is never seen again. There is no doubt that Minsc and Boo dwell among the stars. ------------------ visit www.zipworld.com.au/~wsgs |
I just finished and am a bit disappointed http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif I thought for sure there would be some kick-ass end movied, but alas...no!
I chose to give up my power due to my char. being chaotic good...and I didn't want to wander the planes alone and having to look over my shoulder all the time http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif The end stories were pretty good. I lost Nalia in the 2nd to last battle, and decided to go on with out her, so I didn't get to see her final story...can someone fill me in. Or I might just play those last two battles again to get it. Also, did anyone find the final, final battle a bit easy? I did it with 5 characters and one summoned ogre and didn't take a single HP of damage. ------------------ http://www.bestanimations.com/fantas.../dragon-04.gif Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time |
My first time through I was playing the only Neutral Evil monk in existance (due to an unfortunate incident in the Nine Hells which he would prefer to forget,) and of course chose to walk amongst the gods.
Finishing SoA tonight to move in the next character - a chaotic good figher/mage who will most likely choose mortality (I guess we'll see.) ------------------ http://sites.netscape.net/rtx999/rtxlogo.jpg a bunch of long hairs. trux |
