MILAMBER 06-20-2001 10:19 PM

So I come home from work all excited, TOB in my hands. I was going to come home, and before doing anything else, install it on my computer and then play all night.

The installation goes perfectly. I go into config and set everything up and it all goes without a hitch. I select the play TOB option and then opt to import a saved game. Where is the saved game I finished just in time for this to come out? Oh, I know, I must have moved it to the my documents folder. It's not there. I'm starting to get very scared.

I think you all know where this is going. I was able to find my character from my old game (about half way through), but I can't find the game itself with all my pimped out NPC's.

I'm going out to get drunk. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...s/beerchug.gif

OK, there is a reason you can't find your saved game starting TOB. TOB saves its games with a special TOB extention, so if you have a saved game from BG2, TOB won't even recognize it. You need to go to TOB and import a saved game.
In order for TOB to see the saved game, you either have to...

A) Start TOB and import a saved game (sorta like importing a character)

B) Play your game in BG2, then defeat Irenicus in Hell, then it will automatically take you over to TOB and save it.

I had the same problem, took me a few minutes to find out why TOB wasn't reading all my saved games in the mpsave directory

Have you tried this; start the ToB, start new game, then pres import buton?, the saves should be there, if not, you can find them search in the windows commander, just pres alt+F7 and the tipe *.sav, in the window. It should find all the files containing sav extesion, one omong them should be from baldur's gate if you haven't already deleted them

Really obvious but have you tried "find files or folders" in your start menu? (assuming you have Windows)
If still no luck, bummer dude! That bites! You could always use Shadow Keeper to up the xp but it's not something I would do (I would still feel as though I was cheating, even though it's legit)
Hope you find the file and make a start on ToB

Thats too bad Milamber but we already knew you were a jackass(just joking) and BTW why did you steal the Tsuranni name of the most powerful mage in the riftwar series?

Alot of people use names from characters from their favorite books. There are alot of Wheel of time and Lord of the Rings nicks out there.

I was going to use Milamber but SOMEONE had allready beaten me to it so i had to use this one. I stole mine from a David Gemmell novel.

That's why I always stick to Silvermane. Usually Grindar Silvermane, but if you come across a name like Corwyn, Keldon, Galiana or Rowena Silvermane you know it's me too. Just one of my other personalities taking over. ;)

Well i got mine from one of my friends. When i played Black and white i'd always pick the evil path so my friends called me lucifer

Nifft the Nimble 02-20-2002 02:49 PM

Uh, "Lucifer" isn't exactly original, dude.

My nic was softly and quietly lifted from books by Michael Shea.

Did I EVER say it was original. No, I just told you how I got it (don't worry i'm not offended)

I'm glad. No offense was intended. I suspect very few of us have truely original handles ... and I suspect there are very few handles which havn't been used in the past in some way or other.

-- Nifft, not even slightly original

Hmm, all the used-car sales are reffering to their vehicles as "previously loved", so it could be said that lucifer has a previously loved handle. Not necessarily a bad thing, that.

It is remarkable fun, fooling around with elvish.
