So me and my cousin Leslie decided that we shall venture through BG II: SoA (and ToB hopefully) once again. ;) For the sake of old BG II memories. ;)

We shall play with all the mods we used to play: Tactics, Ascension, on Insane difficulty and maybe even no reloads game.

The party (I think) shall consist of:
</font>
 • F/M</font>
 • C/R</font>
 • Imoen</font>

Maybe we'll even post screenshots and write a story. Oh and don't foget about Solaufein and his very interesting battles.

Any tips for setting up the dual-multiplayer game? All the mods, game versions etc. have to be the same right? Is it possible through IP or do you need any special programs like GameSpy or The All Seeing Eye?

Aye man,

You should be able to connect directly to youre cousin if you go into Multiplayer > Connect > then TCP/IP tho you might want to stick a password on there :D

You'll both need to make sure you're running the same version and yeah you will need the same mods,

Enjoy! Let us know how you get on.

O.K., thanks Madman-Rogovich! ;)

A form of instant communication would be nice too. If only to prevent chaotic battles.

A form of instant communication?

robertthebard 04-09-2006 02:26 PM

Been a few days, but isn't there a chat window in multiplayer mode?

Xen 04-09-2006 02:36 PM

Yes it is.

I've used TCP/IP before when me and my bro went 1 character each through the saga. One thing you should sort out is the pausing - if both of you hit pause at about the same time, there can be problems BUT you probably both want pause permission.

Xen 04-09-2006 03:25 PM

Thanks for the warning True_Moose.

Also I decided that I will play my favourite class: the all mighty Sorcerer. ;)
Leslie will be C/R, we'll pick up Imoen and ToB character once we're there. ;)

Oh and we both have Skype installed so the communication will be a lot easier.

You have a point but for me when in comes to multiplaying BG - ruling out pausing altogether can be alot of fun, if a little more challenging ;)

Ah, no pausing. MAkes it alot more fun. It seems more like a battle than a game.

So if both hit pause one will pause and the second will unpause? If so, there is a hard-pause button, that only pauses. You can configure it in BGConfig.

Still it would be nice to have some voice chat. Try MSN messenger if you dont have skype.
