Yes I'm still working on the Bryan Mod. For those who don't know, it's a male romance option for male pcs of a good alignment. Anyway, here's where the question that I require answers for commes in.

Which NPCs do you consider possibly homophobic? How do you think they'd react to Bryan?

I can't rely on my own interpretations because I could be wrong. Keldorn and Valygar seem most likelly...

Probably Edwin (doesn't like Haer-Dalis, who is very strange), Sarevok (he hates cheery, just look at how he talks to Imoen), Korgan.

On the plus side, I think Viconia would find it... entertaining.

Korgan - he'd either call them 'bloody pansies' or fillet them with his axe.

Jaheira? From a 'natural order of things' point of view and also because a male and female coming together represents two opposites joining to create balance and renew life. She'd just give you a lecture.

Anomen - I can't imagine the law of Amn (assuming the laws are comparable to dark ages Western ones) are particularly permissive in this regard. He'd threaten to arrest you.

Edwin - I can imagine him making pointed comments at any romance so I'm sure you can work him in here.

Aerie - she's so damned innocent she'd probably be shocked.

Edit: Good point about Viconia! You can imagine her enjoying a room-full of males!

Might I suggest that given this is the SoA forum, a particular NPC's name should be edited from posts as that's a major ToB spoiler.

And that's a good point Rataxes, although S would still be on the list regardless IMO. He doesn't strike me as being tolerant ;)

Well currently I have Bryan making passes (Jokingly) at Anomen to make him uncomfortable.

Edwin is feigning interest in Bryan in hopes of getting the Planar Jewel.

Jaheira and Bryan I've written as getting along. My logic there was she might consider it part of balance considering he's an opposite.

Korgan, yea. But Korgan seems to respect someone who has a backbone at the least.

I've also written Aerie and Bryan as getting along. I agree she'd be shocked but seeing as how she runs away from confrontation she probably wouldn't bring it up.

Well if Bryan turns out to be close to the stereotype then I can see Sarevok loathing him yes, but other than that I don't get the idea that Sarevok is the kind of person who even cares much about sexual orientation. He hates wimps, and that's about the extent of it.

I don't think korgan would fillet them. I agree, korgan has respect for those with backbone. I think Korgan should tease them heavily (bloody pansies) just because thats what Korgan does. I think down deep inside, Korgan doesn't really give a flying flip what Charname and Bryan do. Just as long as he gets to kill something. Perhaps base it off of the Aerie-Korgan fights. Since Aerie has no "backbone" he doesn't respect her. If he pesters Bryan and Bryan can throw everything right back at him, I think Korgan will definately grow to respect the couple.

It really depends on your view of the FR universe. (Let me mention this site before I proceed.) We're stamping our own outlooks and insights and Ways It Should Be on this universe. If any NPC had a problem with Bryan, that problem wouldn't stem from his sexual orientation, and an open question like "who's the homo hater?" does more harm to your modded NPC than good.

Why not? The Realms is a pretty prejudiced place really, especially with regards to race - I can imagine homophobia existing there.

Just because it's wrong for us to impose our own insights on the FR doesn't automatically mean that characters can't be homophobic.

I'd say Anomen wouldn't particularily like him, maybe Edwin as well.
