Jaheira is driving me nuts! Literally every second she goes into her "I will not tolerate this waste of time.." speech and whatever answer I give her, she does it again a second later...

I'm not predisposed to murder but she's driving me mad and to make it worse, evey time she speaks she stops moving so it's her wasting time. I'd love to get rid of her but she's one of my most powerful people and I'm trapped in the underdark. I'll never get out without her. Plus I want to keep her.

The rate it happens it's got to be a bug. When I said every second, I meant it. I know I rest a lot, but this is taking things to extremes.. I've installed the patch, but that didn't help.

Can anyone out there help me before I go insane? Please? I'm begging!

(I have ToB installed and the appropriate patch)

Wich patch do you have? If you mean the official one, you still need Baldurdash Fixpack.

heh I can never stand her long enough to take her in BG2, at least in BG(TotSC) She's not completely useless to me, as she is in BG2 (with the wealth of alternatives, there's no reason to take her and put up with her shrill harping)

I have a similar problem: she doesn't talk all the time but when she does, she always says the same lines. Does anybody know what values or variables to modify with Shadowkeeper so that she moves on with her ramblings?

Many thanks! I've installed the baldurdash fix pack, I'll let you know if it works. She doesn't always start, but when she does she just didn't shut up.

Maybe you should do her quest?

I thought it might be that, but I've not had her quest start. At least I don't think so. I've saved her from being poisoned when you go into the sea's Bounty in the docks. But I haven't started anything with the Harpers?

Does this start automatically? (Plus I'm in the underdark so there's no way I can do it for her just yet - Harping on every second won't help)

You're not telling us what Jaheira is nagging you about. What exactly does she want you to do? Is there a note about it in your Journal?

The Harper quest is initiated by a man called Xzar in the Docks District. If you don't do his quest, Jaheira's quests cannot proceed. Rather odd, considering that he and Jaheira hate each others' guts, but that's the way the game is programmed.

Jaheira is great -- you just gotta treat her right. If you're a scuzzbucket, she'll tell you flat out. I'd talk about what's good about her in terms of game mechanics, but in truth I just love her, and that's the best reason to keep her around. [img]graemlins/heee.gif[/img]

Hmm.. it can't be Jaheria's quest then as I told Xzar that I wasn't interested in upsetting the Harpers.

Jaheira says(something like):

"I will not tolerate this waste of time"

There's three options to respond, with them being something like - a) why are you yelling? b) Shut up, I'm in charge and c) [I can't remember]

Obviously her response then varies but it's moaning about the fact that we're not doing anything about catching Khalid's killers (despite the fact we're chasing them through the underdark)
and then she says she's thinking about Khalid too much.

you can then either say - a) no, you can never think too much on dear departed ones, b) yes yo do or c) we will have revenge for all wrongs in time.

Whatever I respond it doesn't make any difference.

Now I have installed the Baldurdash fix it hasn't happened (yet) but then again it seems to trigger randomly. I'll have to play for a few more hours before I think it's fixed. But fingers crossed..

Nope - I've never got jiggy with Jahiera... and when I did the dirty with [someone who may be a mini spoiler?] in the underdark, no one got upset...

This could be a bug, or your pushing the right buttons. Tell her to go to hell (or something to that effect) and she should stop whining. Make sure you have all patches and balderdashes.

Unfortunately, my advice is to drop her or reinstall. I've found that a fresh install can get rid of all the junk you'd forgotten about and lets you know EXACTLY what is on your bg2. Baldurdash is a must, as usual. Sorcerers.net also has its own fixpack with a weidu format, but I haven't looked very hard, and the one I have is soa only.

I may be speaking too soon, but I think the problem is cured... I've played for a couple of hours now after installing the baldurdash patch and she hasn't gone off on one... at least I hope I'm not speaking too soon.
