Heyas everyone

I was wondering. Is it possible to obtain a suit of armour, that doesn’t affect your appearance at all?

The reason I am asking is that I have Viconia in my party and I much prefer how she looks when she doesn’t have any armour on to when she does and all the colours are affected and she appears as though she is wearing armour.

I know this is an unusual request but I just wanted to make sure, as I really don't fancy the idea of going through the game with Viconia not wearing any armour.

Thanks alot

If you enable the cheat keys, pressing ctrl+1 will cycle past various armor styles that she can have. Put the armor on her and give it a shot.

Kestrel Daystar 01-19-2005 09:33 PM

Aye, I be tryin' that I did but it ne'er worked (sorry, im still in pirate mode)...

Ahem, I tried that but even with the armour on, the armour colours still appear. Plus, with the Ctrl + 1, its not perminant.

It doesnt matter if there isnt a solution I just wanted to make sure there wasnt a way before I ruled it out, it was only a minor gripe. If there is any information I will gladly listen though.

Well, if you know IEEP or DCTLEP, you can make a custom item for Viconia--start with whatever armor you usually give her (I'm assuming unenchanted Full Plate), and change the Paperdoll Appearance to 'none' and remove any "Set Item Colors" that you find in the Equipping Effects tag. Then you're done. Go back into your game, throw away Viconia's Full Plate, and CLUA in this new item. Don't underestimate the nekkid Priestess.

Heheh, here's where I become a royal pain. Does anyone know where I can find and download IEEP or DCTLEP? I have searched everywhere but can't for the life of me find a bleedin' link to download it.

Is it still available for download?

Thanks for the help Six and Jorsh.

Alright, I found and downloaded IEEP, installed it and ran it.

However, when I began to run it it came up with:

There has been an error in the program. The specific information is:

Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid at IEEP_ini_Read.02.01.

Then, when I clicked 'OK' it came up with:

Would you like IEEP to try and find the paths to any Infinity Engine game present by searching the Registry?

So I clicked Yes and THEN it came up with:

Run-time error '339':

Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

Does anyone have any clue as to what I can do/this means?

If there is no solution is there another item editor? That DLTCEP or this Near Infinity?

Thanks alot

Near Infinity<span style="color: lightblue">. Simply the best Infinity Engineering tool in existance.

OK, well, except WeiDU.

Alright, thanks. I will try that

i'm not sure if this works or not but you could use Shadowkeeper to change her avatar to one that doesn't display plate armour (female elf mage or female elf thief maybe?)

LennonCook 01-20-2005 06:45 AM

<span style="color: lightblue">Failing the item editing, try to find an armour you like how she looks in. Elven Chain, for example, tends to look quite good on the female elves.

Or you could just splash out for the bracers of AC3 and be done with it..

Did you download the VB6 (I think) runtime componets, because you need to have them and some other little misc files to get IEEP to run..

But after that it's one of the easyest to use (not the best for all thing's but dead easy)..

You might also want to try and get winbif or somthing simmilar so you can half inch bam's from other IE games and so on... But that's more than you wanted anyway..

Yay. I downloaded VB6 and it works now (not perfectly mind).

Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it.

can i hijack (expand) this thread sligthly to ask if one of the same tools could be used to remove the 'make all of your characters clothes and armour go grey' effect from the spell 'stoneskin' (and ironskins)

?

Short answer yes.

Longer answer, maybe.. It depend's how the spell was implimented, editing a spell is difrrent from an item' but only in that it's just a diffrent inerface tab.

Illumina Drathiran'ar 01-20-2005 11:22 AM

I would imagine so. If I'm correct, this is how it would go... Find out the number for Stoneskin (or Iron Skins) however you will (I use ShadowKeeper as a reference for that)... Get the file out with WinBiff... Edit the spell (I use IEEP) and remove any references to color changing/alteration... And save the spell (don't change the name) in the Override folder. That sounds like it should work to me. I'll test it later.

Armen 01-20-2005 11:42 AM

thanks folks - i find the stoneskin grey upsetting when i've chosen my colours so carefully

perhaps i'll get round to checking out the editors then (and again all the things i've been putting off doing in real life slide further and further away . . . )

Illumina Drathiran'ar 01-20-2005 12:16 PM

Hm... I manually took out every mention of Character Colorization in the spell... so either just putting it in Override doesn't override an existing spell without doing something else, or it's embedded into the Stoneskin effect... in which case, it might be beyond me at this point. I'll try again and get back to you later.

Even easyer, use shadowkeeper to extract the file directly from the stoneskin's spell..

then you don't have to use winbif's search, which can be a little tricky if you don't know what your doing.
