I searched and i couldnt find exactly what i wanted
If i did redo BG2, i would make a full party, just to have the full custom experience, so i can get into my characters more, but i was wondering The game is greatly based around imoen, could you still have the game, without her in your party. because... i hate her, not completely, shes alright, but i would beat here with a wooden spoon if i could |
You can leave her behind, as you can any NPC..
|
possible spoilers
: : : : : : : : do you still have to rescue her from spell hold? |
thats what i wanted to know, i suppose you do, because from what i heard, thats kinda the game
|
yeha caouse i think you may need to recue her, but you have the option once you do to tell her to find her own way out, ive never told her to do this, i wonder what happens
|
I tried to kill her once to ruin the plot of the game
she ran into a wall and dissapeared, she should have done that when the guards take her |
Spoilers

is anyone sure?
|
jerry sounds right, but she plays a big role in the game so i dont know. and what happens if you kill her in the copper coronet
hmm |
if you kill somebody in bg 1 i think that is important to the plot the game stops and say you have killed somebody importand to the plot you must re-load or something
|
who can you kill in bg1 that is important besides yourself? ive killed all the npcs that can be in your party pretty much, and they dont care, their dead
|
I don't know what would happen if you tried to kill Imeon in the Copper Coronet after rescuing her and getting back to Athkatla. I've never NOT had her in my party. I couldn't imagine NOT having her in the party. The PC and Imoen are so central to the story, it's unthinkable to me to not have her along.
|
because shes _ _ _ _ "not very good" in my opionion.
maybe it was icewind dale 2 i was playing when i got boored and killed all of the citizens of some town, and i got some re-load message |
Imoen's a perfectly fine NPC. The NPCs are not supposed to be godlike characters with godlike stats. That role is reserved for the PC. None of the NPCs are truly great and perfect. They all have their flaws. That's part of the game's intent and design. Why bother complaining about that? ([begin sarcasm] This game f-ing blows cuz I can't have a party full of official NPCs with straight 18's across the board!!! [end sarcasm])
My biggest complaint about the NPCs is not their power or lack thereof, it's the smallish number and the lack of variety in the NPCs. It would be nice to have about 50% more NPCs. With at least another thief or 2, and an archer, perhaps a monk, a sorceror, and a barbarian, just for some additional variety and options. That said, there are a number of mod NPCs out there. Some are good, some are less so, from what I've heard. That said, Imeon is sort of a problem. Not because she stinks, but since she's so central to the storyline she really sucks up a party slot. And it makes your party composition decisions a bit more difficult. (Well, maybe not for everyone.) I find it impossible to not have her in my party after I rescue her. I always play good-aligned parties and I could never conceive of not having her along. However, from the standpoint of maximum player/party flexibility, it might have been better if Irenicus had killed her right at the start, instead of having her taken to Spellhold. |
If I play this game again, which I probably will and soon, i will try to report on what happens without her, unless someone else does first
|
so if you tell her not to join your party you save her from spell hold, does she meet you at the copper cronet?
|
You don't have to go to Spellhold to rescue Imoen at all. You can go to find Irenicus. Hell, you don't have to go find Irenicus, either. You can wander around Amn forever, killing bandits.
|
Yes, you can tell her to meet you at the copper coronet. And she makes it. However, if you dump any other NPC to make room for her in your party, that NPC will sit in spellhold and you wont be able to get them back. Which is annoying.
As for playing without her - well, Ive soloed the game, which is certainly done without Imoen. She dosen't get referred to again, as far as I can remember. Certainly, theres no reason to bring her with you if you don't like her. |

Nothing happens differently if you don't have her, i have dropped her two or three times, as i wanted other NPC's. They were evil parties, and the PC didn't want an underpowered mage or an average theif that's never going to get better.

One thing I do after that is to pick her up for a short trip after killing Bodhi to get XP for restoring her. Other then for that short moment I do not have her in my parties. It is a liberating experience, everyone should try it at least once - you may like it. |
thanks

well, it being me, i would rather not have her, you have enough quests, big and small, but i guess without any of the characters in the game, those will be gone.
