If you have high rep. points you get discount in stores for items and such.

cedric de la crumpet 01-01-2005 12:15 PM

aha thank you

And if they drop too low, the city guards will attack you.

Also if they drop too high or too low some NPC's might leave.

TheGodThatFailed 01-01-2005 01:56 PM

And witht the Item Upgrade mod, you need a reputation of 20 to improve some things, like Mazzy Fenatn's sword.

[EDIT]ed my spelling.

...and if reputation drops too low a paladin or ranger protagonist could lose their class abilities.

Sir Degrader 01-01-2005 05:08 PM

To expand on what Desuma said, once you drop below a certain reputation point limit you become a "fallen" paladin/ranger, with no class specific abilites. You will NEVER EVER EVER gain these back. I think.

If you get a Fallen status (either Paladin or Ranger) and you finish your stronghold quests don't you get back to normal, as in not fallen?

Sir Degrader 01-01-2005 06:11 PM

No idea, this is a SixofSpades question, I never get Fallen status.

Hmm, explains why my bg1 evil character is getting charged so damn much... 3 reputation for Shagrath :D

Pretty sure palladins that fall during their stronghold quest can, "un-fall" if they finish it..

I don't know though..

Ranger's can lose their status if they do somthing in their stronghold area.. I'm pretty sure I've heard of them unfalling too..

I've not done the ranger/paladin strongholds in a very long time, and I don't think any time I've had one of my char's fall when I didn't want them to..

SixOfSpades 01-02-2005 12:54 AM

I've never Fallen either, but I hear that the Stronghold quests will revert a Fallen status.

Due to hardcoded difficulties, Ranger/Clerics (whether Dual- or Multi-classed) cannot Fall at all.

TheGodThatFailed 01-02-2005 06:30 AM

I have fallen a Ranger before. Although, my stronghold didn't help me Unfall, becuase they wouldn't let me finesh it. Noone in Imsvale would talk to me, and the perosn who spawns to give you your ranger quests didn't spawn either. So, If a ranger falls, he can't UNfall. Unless it was just a bug in my game...

SixOfSpades 01-02-2005 12:52 PM

Maybe you had to begin your Stronghold after you Fell, or something. Or perhaps you Fell because of doing some action that also caused you to lose your stronghold.

TheGodThatFailed 01-02-2005 01:03 PM

Could be, becuase i was halfway through it when i fell.
