My Cleric/Mage is levels 15/14 and has done EVERYTHING, and is ready to go onto chapter 4. Where do you get sao much EXP from before that?!? I've heard multiclass characters being 20+/20+ before then, and i have done EVERYTHING. So, what can i do to get those levels before chap4 myself?

Some players also venture to the Watcher's Keep, that is if you have TOB installed.
What does your "EVERYTHING" mean? ;)

Your doing better than me. I usually am level 15 or so, just for 1 class. [img]tongue.gif[/img] But, I usually try and get over there as quick as possible. Most likely, it was watchers keep, like leslie said.

Hmm, well, i guess it's worth a shot. But without chain contigency (spelling) Surley i'll get slaughtered. Well, i'll backup save, and venture forth.

You do not need to max out before entering Chap4. I myself tend to max out in Chap4 itself.

@ Leslie - Everything means everything. All i have left to do is the main plot.

@ Dundee - I don't want to 'max', i just want another level or so.

Also remember that many people install mods, and almost every one of them adds more xp for you to gain.

The multiple stronghold mod is famous for tons of more XP.

Well, then Watchers Keep is the only left to do, if you've done everything. Even if you do just the first to levels of it, and finish the rest later, you ought to get at least one more level, as well as some decent equipment. How many points are you away from levelling up?

There's nothing stopping you, AFAIK, from completing WK in chapter 3.

There isn't, it's just that it might be awfully difficult, depending on your level. ;)

It's not that difficult. Almost all of the spawns are level dependent, so you get 'challenging' battles instead of impossible ones.

But, there's the whole Demigorgon thing to deal with. I don't think he's level dependant, is he?

You don't have to do all of WK in one go...

What I usually do is to do first 2 levels of WK in SOA and the next 3 in TOB. Seems fair to me...

Heck, just visiting WK to make a few good purchases from the "store" at the top of WK is rather useful. Last time I played BG2, I did level 1 of WK during SoA and finished the rest of WK during ToB. Level 1 isn't too difficult, particularly if you have a strong cleric, for turning undead.

just checked and my solo monk's got 4.8M in chapter 3 - i haven't done the planar sphere yet plus some stronghold quests - oh yeh, guarded compound, secret dungeon in the sewers (now i have the key) - illithium! haven't done that one . . . oh yeh - tidying up the umar hills dungeon - i haven't done the troll mound . . . you get the idea ;)

did you have 'always toughest spawn'?

you should be comfortably past that if so with the scribing scrolls XP and all - hmm . . .

Hmm, i'd forgot about troll mound, guarded compound ETC, guess i still have a few things to cripple before the end of chapter 3, maybe that explains my lack of levels. Also, i can't find any decent scrolls, on enemys OR merchants. Where can i get level 7,8, and 9 scrolls from? I've looked in the promenade, all the temples, just about everywhere that sells spells, can't find decent ones anywhere. Help, please? :(

1. ToB spoilers should really be flagged in the SoA forum.
2. You CANNOT legally get to lvl20/20 in plain SoA even completing the whole game (a single class mage can only get lvl17)
3. Although some mods may prove uncomfortably challenging if you are not very high level, 15/14 seems strong enough for me to even beat the final boss (in plain SoA that is ;) )

At 15/14 you only have level 7 spells. I didn't say i wanted to get level 20/20 i said i heard it was possible. With my current spell selection, i can't beat bhodi :D I need scrolls [img]smile.gif[/img]

The first place I usually find level 7, 8 and 9 scrolls is in the Dwarf store in the Underdark(Not the one in the Duergar village). There are very few before chapter 4, I believe.

Pah, I guess i'll be waiting a while then.

I just checked - my solo F/T has a little over 5 mio XP and has done everything in chapter 2 except Windspear hills. But I play with Tactics which brings up more XP than plain SOA.

Hmm, i installed tactics half way through, too late for all the big fghts, Mae'var etc...Although i havn't done kangaax yet, i going to wait till last thing for that. So, i can still get alot more, i just need to concentrate more, and look harder.
