I put together a song last night for JonJon using samples from David Warner's voicing. (So hint: if you haven't played through SoA all the way, some of song content may spoil you.) Turn on the strobes, people, and shake your mod thing.

Irenicus (Redeem This Mix) MP3 (4.3Mb)

Irenicus (Redeem This Mix) OGG (3.3Mb)

Nice work. IMHO, could use a little more bass drum, but that's just a matter of individual preference.

http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/DJsmile.gif That is awesome!! Very clever.

"Hello, little one. You and I have a great deal to do..." and then it goes into a more intense music segment w/ the guitar sound, with a spellcasting. When the music track settles down again, he comes back with "So, God-child, you have escaped." ROFL

If you played this for someone who never played BG2, I think they'd get an interesting image of a villanous character. Have you submitted it to any home-recording/remix sites? I can get you a link if you don't know what I mean. I'd just like to see someone's reaction who doesn't know the source of the voice samples.

Bravo! That was really good, I liked the spell casting blurb the best. What program did you use to put that together?

I like :D very nice, very nice indeed.
Also, welcome to IW Bons.

I used ACID 4.0 for mixing, and Sound Forge for everything else.

No, the majority of the work I did in one night, on a whim, procrastinating on my Keto NPC tasks for PPG. I spent 4-5 hours on it, in total.

Great job.

A couple of comments: I really liked the way the tune peaked at the "and all I thirsted for was revenge... and I... will... have it!" line. You built it up very nicely to that point. And the repetitive use of "You will suffer... You will all suffer" at the end went really well with the groove you chose.

My only critique would be that there's no bass (at least it didn't come out well on my computer) and the tune is kind of simple. But otherwise, a fine job, especially for 4-5 hours.

I think the most popular suggestion for improvement has been I should have used more bass. I'll keep it in mind the next time, though I'm mainly thinking of doing a Jansen number, like Commo mentioned. There was a little bass in the Irenicus song, though it was only for about 8 seconds, halfway through. That was really my personal preference when I was making it. I was more intent on working a dirty jungle beat in there.

And, yeah, when you're doing everything in one evening, composing and recording a complex tune is not an option. Though, now that I'm thinking about it, even with some songs that I spent weeks on for the Surayah NPC mod, I went with simple background music and focused on the more complex vocals. So maybe it's just: My. Chronic. Slacking.
