You know all those funky colours for outfits that you can't get for your own character (eg. Metalic green that Hear'Delis has)? Is there a patch that can make these colours avaliable for you, and if so, does it work for icewind dale 2 as well?

Cheers.

You can change them to those funky colors in Shadowkeeper, I think.

Thankyou. I'll give it a try...

Once, my wild mage had a surge called "orange" or something like that. It changed his appearance (even the paper doll avatar) to this fluorescent orange color. He looked quite awesome for a while, but then it wore off after sleeping. I always wanted to get that look back, but couldn't figure out how, even with SK...

How did you have a wild mage which on is that????

Sir Goulum 08-14-2004 04:14 PM

If you get Throne of Bhall, there's a new mage kit.

And a very fun one, at that. I once saw a post on the PPG forums about a guy who killed ToB's final boss by dropping a cow on its head.

Yea, the cow droppings a great wild surge. ;)

hmph... ive been playing wild mage now. It surely rocks.. sometimes. The 1st level spell is really handy for emergency the only problem is that i usually get a wild surge.

one time i lost 40,000 gold in one spell.. boy was I poor after that.

The name of the spell you are referring to, IIRC, is Nahjal's Reckless Dweomer.

It says in the spells description that it deliberately creates a wild surge wich your mage then tries to shape into the desired spell. Since it is a planned surge your spellcasting level plus the bonus from the Chaos Shield spell are added to the wild surge roll. There are 100 different outcomes to this roll. So use carefully...

Yeah, I had the orange surge once.
The cow one only ever hit me.
Sex change was a fun one. Anomen as a girl. :D

Sir Goulum 08-15-2004 11:04 AM

Theres a cheat to change it so you can only cast a certain wild surge, you know. I forget what it is though.

It was Ctrl-H. And it affected everyone, including non-wildmages. All magic would have that wild-surge effect.

One of these days, I'll use that to make all spells into Cowdrop. That'll be fun, at least until I try to heal.

Neo the Warrior Cat 08-15-2004 08:52 PM

It'll give you a message saying "Surge Number is X" X is whatever the surge number was previously + 1. (If you've never used this before Then your surge # is zero) It will reset after loading.

Acoustic Ferret 08-17-2004 03:18 PM

Damn, guess i need to buy ToB.
