I was watching 'Romeo and Juliet' in english today...How boring...And relised that the actor who played one of the cousins AND played Luchentio in 'Taming of the shrew'(another boring film from english class) sounded like Mae'Var.I dont remeber the actors name now,but is it the same person?
cant say really, as I havent seen either film . But theres a good chance it is, as the voice actors of BG2 are in some pretty famous movies, as well...
Was the actor in those films Dwight Schultz? He's the voice of Mae'Var and another character you might meet in Chapter 5. Schultz is better known as "Howlin' Mad" Murdock from the A-Team and as Lt. Reg Barclay from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Not to mention voicing characters in Fallout, Arcanum and a ton of other games. No Shakespearean stints as far as I can tell, though. Probably wishful thinking on your part...
The only voice I recognize is Haer'Dalis's, which was done by Michael Bell.
HOLY SHYTE! Murdock is the voice of Mae'var, now that make me wanna go back and play arcanum again(never made it all the way through). Damn. Any other famous voices? Well the narrator(between chapters and such) from BG II sounds like some voice from Shrek. I ahd been wondering where I'd heard it before, and then my sister's like I just watch shrek last night. So I says to myself Eureka, he's from shrek. Can anyone verify that?
Michael Bell's :D
I was mistaken, It's Firkraag. and he's the captain of the guards in Shrek. WOO HOO. I love IMDB
http://imdb.com/title/tt0224637/fullcredits HOLY SHYTE again the guy who did Yoshimo also was the voice of Yosemite Sam recently. It's amazing what I've learned from this website. Sorry, one more to add. Warf from star trek is Bhaal. How crazy is that? [ 06-08-2004, 02:22 AM: Message edited by: skuld ] |
Yeah, he sounds like that, but he's not in the credits. But I could have sworn I hear Michael Dorn in that dream(I'm not that far into the game).
Arcanum and BG had the best voice acting IMO, the quality REALLY took a plunge with the NWN series. ehehee.. Cummings

Fallout I has Richard Dean Anderson.
Planescape: Torment has The Pretender as the protagonist, Homer Simpson, 1 of the Looney Toons, Smith from X-Files. Can't remember anything else right now. |

The answer was yes, of course. But then I wondered how one finds out about voiceacting gigs for video games in the first place. |
It might have been micheal bells who im thinking of...I just thaught he sounded like Mae'Var...Well,he might...If your verry bored...In english class...Which happens often...
OMG Irenicus is the voice of the narrator in Winnie the Pooh! :D Awww... such a cute voice ;)
Also, IIRC, the voice of Anomen is pretty popular. He does the voice of Pinky in "Pinky & the Brain". Hehehe... Can't imagine him talking like that in BG2 . He does loads of other ones as well which I'm too lazy to look up atm . And the voice of Gaelyn Baile (spelt wrong, I know) is also one of the pigeons in Animaniacs. Which is probably why he says 'Coo!', as a reference to his previous work. *sigh* makes me wanna be a voice actor.... |
Michael Dorn is Bhaal in SoA. There's no mistaking that voice. ;) (The same voice actor who voices the ToB NPC voices Bhaal in ToB. I'm having a serious brain fart at the moment and can't remember his name.)
Makes me laugh about all the "actors for a BG2 movie?" threads. The voice actors in this game are the best of the best, IMO. Only an animated movie would do this game justice. |
It's amazing what a wealth of seemingly useless knowledge the internet can be. Homer Simpson and Earthworm Jim are one and the same, who woulda thought.
It seems to me that the BG developers were Star Trek fans...so many voice actors from it.
While on the subject, Theres a big stone dude in Star Fox adventures(GC) who sounds exactly like Korgan...is it him? |
